Kate had really evolved into a vocal god by this point. Her voice just soars here. It's clear as a bell, but she still manages to put a lot of grit into when she wants to. She was always amazing, but she was just on another level at this point in the B52's history.

It was in the grunge Era also so she was sorta competing with the female singers like Courtney Love. Wouldn't be shocked if the Go Gos influenced this also from the past.
Kate is pure energy, she is the soul of every song!

Just so good. Listened them so often and loved this track but was told off when my 8 year old started singing it without me realising 🫣

How lucky I was! I attended The University of Georgia in Athens in 1981. The B52's put Athens on the map along with REM as the new place for alternative music. Damn, what a magical time.
Kate kills every vocal, but this one really is on another level! This should have had the success of Love Shack/Roam.
I wish I gave this band a chance back then. This is one of the best songs ever.
Word. How she can do the scream-fry and then immediately slip back into perfect pitch vibrato is beyond me. Her vocal cords must be titanium.
I think they were trying really hard to record "Love Shack, Part 2" to keep their newfound commercial success going and to appease their record label. Unfortunately it sounds a little forced and overproduced. This album was a big step down from Cosmic Thing three years earlier. Not sure if that had a lot to do with Cindy Wilson not being around or just an artistic slump.
Yes i agree this is one of my favorite song of them the other ones are loveshack Roam a song for a future generation summer of love & Roc lobster i have all those song's on their greatest hits album

Kate was very sought after Roam hit the air, Iggy Pop on Candy and REM on Shiny Happy People, her vocals were just that enticing to bring in listeners and her beauty brought in a ton of viewers

This was an incredible album. I had already worn out a couple Cosmic Thing CD’s when I heard this on the radio. I immediately went and bought it, and wore out a few copies as well. Now everything is digital, so I can jam forever! It’s too bad this was their last major project, as it was one of their best, and they had matured into a top-notch act. Kate was sooo hot!! Thanks to all of you, 52’s, for all the great times and memories!!

Love shack overshadowed this one, but "Good Stuff" was the first song I heard from them. My music teacher in 4th grade had a poster in the classroom, and so I asked a question. Reliable sources tell me I sound like Fred Schneider.

I always have loved because when I was senior in high school '79 Rock Lobster was released. This is good song but the band needed the other lead singer Cindy Wilson it lack something and it was her voice and she was more then a singer in band she play a lot of percussion for band.
Had the biggest crush on Kate Pierson when this was 1st released in the early 90's.
