I'm 53 and even now this kicks my arse when i need to get going. We wonder why kids today feel an affinity to 80s and 90s music, this is a perfect example of why! In turbulant times when there's little hope, music like this makes you feel like nothing can hold you back and kids today desperately need to feel to some hope and optimism. Shit will get better in time but until then crank up the 1990s!
25 years later... still as fresh as yesterday. Off to see Saffron and Republica in Manchester in just over two weeks for the 4th time as they are doing a "Electric Ladies Tour" with Toyah Wilcox right now. Have met them all several times and they are really cool people. Long may they live and the music they have created, and are still creating for the world to enjoy!

we had no idea how amazing we had it in the 90s. amazing tunes like this, no mobile phones, no social media. Anyone who thinks we live in the best times now wasn't alive in the 90s! I'd give anything to go back to the 90s!
Analog mobile phones existed in the 90s. Back then we called them cellular phones. They were expensive and you were lucky to get 30 minutes on a battery charge. Plus you also had to pay for calls received. Every call was roaming. And the phones were freaking big. During the first half of the decade it used to be a luxury to own a mobile phone. I didn’t get one until 1995. We didn’t have tablets, iPods, iTunes or any kind of streaming music. Napster came into existence in 1999. Most people who bought music got them on CDs. Vinyl pretty much vanished. Cassettes still existed but were beginning to make their exit. Virgin Music, Tower Records and The Wherehouse was where we bought our music. The only streaming audio that existed only on computers were RealPlayer, Windows Media Player and QuickTime. Early Internet radio stations were played on those platforms but the audio quality was terrible and 28.8K dial-up modems were not made for streaming audio or video. The audio was like AM radio analog, not stereo.
Was listening to Republica songs in the car the other day, and my daughter (teen) liked it. She thought it was a contemporary band. She was surprised to find out that the songs were from the 90's. "Daddy Rocks!", I guess, hahaha.

I can't can't relate because I'm not in my 40s but I would have to say that the 90s had such great songs
My brother. Or my sister, not sure which and it does not matter. 46 here. Let's do some listening.I know where to find us some beatbox.
Many zoom lenses gave their lives, so we can enjoy this. Let us be thankful.
Great comment 😂🎉
This was the song that reminds me of Europe in 1997 - the tour guide used to play this on our bus EVERY MORNING to motivate us for the upcoming day.........fantastic memories - thanks Judy & Dave if you guys are still around.
:)
This song never gets old.
God damn, this is the quintessential nineties poprock song if you ask me. Brings me straight back to the good old MTV days.
MTV was great back then!
Back in 95-96 MTV was awesome..
in the modern day, no matter how quiet you are. The rebellion always feels the same.
Please 90’s come back ☹️
Gone like the 50's 60's 70's and so on ...
Get it here, Thing right
Nothing like being a kid in the 90s. This was my jam in 8th grade... good memories.
The 90s left a mark on me.
This was my jam when I was 9 years old. Good times. :3
This tune definitely still holds up
This song is still an absolute d*** banger
That's what good music does... It remains epic
This song has been my alarm clock for a while now, brushing my teeth has never been more exciting.
panzerdiv I need to try this, it'd probably give me a heart attack first thing in the morning though.
This would excite the hell out of me to wake up to this. I probably wouldn't need coffee after.
This song is so much heavier than I remember it being. Wow.
There's the original that's a "little" less intense. Still good but this one I thinks better
Dont know why but this song gives me so much energy when out running. its like a second wind!
90s best time ever. This song reminds me of high school. Good times will never forget.
Not better then the 80s
My childhood was amazing in the 80's, but wouldn't change my teenage years in the 90's.
Saaame. High school in the late 90s was amazing
Saw them at the Student Uni in Leeds, many years ago, went with my brother. Ace night. As she was taking a breath at the end of one song to start another, he shouted “Saffron’s gorgeous!” She gave him a big smile and a double thumbs up. He was over the moon. 🥰. Made his night.
Cool! Sounds like how I'd have imagined she'd react. It would have made my night, too. Congrats to your brother!
Lo mejor de mi vida los 90s, no pensé k me marcarán tanto estas rolas
I love the energy of this song Republica rocks! and it never gets old. All of the music genres we had back in the '90s was so much freedom of expression.
This woman is an absolutely mesmerizing performer.
Sorry, I had to read that a few times, caught in a trance....
Saffron is amazing.
Ya...she is definatley one of a kind!
@Right To Censor You're literally just pushing down keys on a keyboard, anyone can do it.
Perspective works wonders, try it out after your next incel support group meeting.
@Right To Censor Kind of like your fall flat comment?
we had no idea how amazing we had it in the 90s. amazing tunes like this, no mobile phones, no social media. Anyone who thinks we live in the best times now wasn't alive in the 90s! I'd give anything to go back to the 90s!
It's 80s or 90s for me, the best two decades for music in history!
Everything was going in the right direction until Nickelback showed up. I blame them for where we are now.
And don’t forget violent video games 😁
The 90s were the LAST great times in this world's history
F Yeah! This was an awesome and powerful tune back in the day!
I dont understand how that song has so few views. it should have at least 500 million views. This song is super good. Definately one of my favorites
The 90s called...they said we can all come back.
Oh that's so awesome!
I'm ready
Just as long as we can put the pause button on & never start the 2000's!
if only...
That's great because I'm on my way anyway
This is sooooooo 90's.
Every time I heard this I get goosebumps!!! This song came out 30 years ago!!
Insane 😊❤
The 90's wasn't a decade it was an emotion! 💞👌😊👍
It was still a decade.
90s Brit power pop at its finest. Turn this on and crank the volume up.
One of those DEFINITIVE songs that will forever represent the mid-90s.
In the late nineties when the Nashville predators NHL team first started, this song played before the start of every home game. It was epic !
Still the number one song at US sporting events
Was listening to Republica songs in the car the other day, and my daughter (teen) liked it. She thought it was a contemporary band. She was surprised to find out that the songs were from the 90's. "Daddy Rocks!", I guess, hahaha.
Without a doubt bro.👍🔥❤️
As much as I loved the 80's, the 90's had so much more going on, and amazingly great by any decades standards.
It's sad to see great songs like this disappear into relative obscurity.
But it hasn't
Go to Cedar Point and ride Top Thrill Dragster. I guarantee you’ll hear this song.
That's why I said relative obscurity, since 12m views in 10 years isn't that much for a song as great as this compared to others.
Obscurity? Nah... We are here, don't we?
Plays on in Sirius XM all the time.
Saffron was the shit back in 2010ish.great energy
back when there was all kinds of mainstream music
+Garrett Wilson yeah man, I remember the times when there pop and rock were on the radio simultaneously... Mainstream was so much more versatile.
This is so 90s and I love it.
This unlocked a core memory
This feels like a song that would be brand new today.
May 2023 and the song just magically popped in my head this morning, and here I am all these years later listening to it. I was 16 years old when this song came out, and it was one heck of a big hit! It's awesome to see so many millions of views for this song.
That was me this morning...
@@johnmcgovern5372 Me as we speak!
hey hey
I think, possibly, maybe, inconclusively, you were born when I was born.
@@Shorty_Lickens you never know
We need more music like this
😎lot of fun listening to this!
"WE" need more trolls like U‼️
+1
Yes! You said the word "music". Oh how we could use some today. Rap and AutoTune just suck.
2020 and this tune has not aged one IOTA!!!!
honestly yeah it could almost be passed off as a song from last decade
I'm listening to Repulica Ready To Go late December 2021
I’m 31 in October and was born in 1993. I have vivid memories of this on MTV as a kid. Watching music videos was an enjoyable way to kill time like the simpsons - then the internet came along
Just gonna say that I'm a full on metalhead at heart, but this is one of those non-metal bands that will be with me always! This song lives in my head rent free, and I'm totally ok with that! 😁
I'm appreciative of all the love!!! 🤘🤘
You should check out the 2010 remix. It's 🔥
Will do sir.
Just listened, was not disappointed!!
@@charlesfarrell5216 I only discovered it existed a few months ago. But I listen to it all the time now.
She was in one video everything that other 90s female artists just couldn't top. 🖤
@Ricky Palmer Republica Ready To Go is one of my favorite song and reminds me of Game 3 of 2000 Subway World Series Championship between New York Yankees vs New York Mets Orlando Hernandez (Yankees) vs Rick Reed (Mets) in Shea Stadium!
Have you not heard of Skin from Skunk Anansie?
@@peterbarfoot1 No
@@brandonmoore7497 check them out!

Oh come on. Bjork? Kim Deal? Sarah Cracknell? Maki from Pizzicato Five? PJ Harvey? There were a bunch of them.
If you need a song to help you get going on a slow morning, this is one of the best!
Yeah! Definitely I Would Have To Agree To That! It's Full Of Energy. To Help Boost Up & Keep Up With The Adrenaline That Needs To Be Unleashed Inside Of You...
Saffron is one of the best entertainers I've ever seen on a stage, a hell of performer, you buy anything she sings.
