Makes me think of a time when my life was beautiful. Not so anymore. But the chicks from the B52's are cool. Beautiful looks, and voices.
Kate & Cindy are easily the best vocal pairing in the world.
Check out Devil's Daughters "Pass That Bottle To Me." Another great match up. They need more good, and some great, songs; but they that same magic.
Definitely underrated vocalists, especially Kate! She's an amazing singer, and I have a feeling critics often overlooked her because she was in a rock band.
Yes, that's what i'm talking about!
How in the shit does this have only 8 million views? That's shocking.
One of the best pairs. There are other great pairs. Agnetha & Frida, Martha & Martha, ect.
I was 8. My sister was 14 with big hair. She would blast this every Saturday morning just before mom would call us down for breakfast. Then we would all watch Peewee Herman together. Life was great.
That is very cool
Such a vibe!
And your sister probably knew what the song is actually about 😊

@@marvelousmrjohn Yep. Roam around the world is a metaphor for explore my body. Without wings, without wheels, hip to hip, down those dirty and dusty trails, the trip begins with a kiss. It's amazing how it all seemed so innocent when I was a kid and it's so obvious now. Bushfire is another favourite of mine... I mean geez if the name of the song didn't give it away 😆
I remember my mom playing this B-52s greatest hits CD all the time growing up in the early 2000s. It always made me happy because she loved those songs, especially this one. I felt like I got to go back in time with her for just a little bit. She's still around, thankfully. Maybe I'll send her this song 😊
Same haha, it was one of the only CD’s my Mom had in her car for a while😂
Same here. The B-52s and ABBA's greatest hits CDs my mom always played growing up in the 2000s. Now I love them, too!
@@wes7189 My mom loves ABBA. Funny enough, I never got too into them, but my brother, a member of two heavy metal bands, loves them!
I think my mom had that one too lol.
Fortunate son.
I miss the 80s so badly.
Their vocals were second to none here. What a perfect match in harmony. So catchy and fun. Did we Gen X'rs know how good we had it with this kind of music? Probably not because we were younger. It's nice to be able to revisit all the raw talent from the 80's and 90's and further appreciate it.
I still consider this song to be the official birth of 90s music
Sorry, babe, what you consider doesn’t mean a thing.
Ice Ice Baby brought everyone into the nineteen nineties. 🤪

Oh, wow, that is one D U M B remark!
Melody, lyrics, instrumentation, performance, vocals , production, video, looks..... everything is just perfect. Pop at its finest
I will never get tired of how their two voices work together. This was/is the best showcase for their sound.
that is the definition of timeless music
The B-52s are what is known as Kismet. All this talent growing up right near each other is meant to be.
Great comment!
man Cindys voice in her prime was just amazing, which is to take nothing away from Kates amazing voice as well. and when they harmonize with each other it is transcendent.
Probably my favorite song of theirs. I've even done this in karaoke.
SO GOOD VIBES THIS SONG BRINGS IN THIS DARK TIMES
Demer PIquet soo very true
Times are always dark. It is reality after all - a game of some crazy god. Do not be deceive by brief joys. It all ends up with death.
Gives hope xx
nah suns out mate...unless your going East to West..but then again nobody knows.
Always must have Hope, Mate... Alway must have Hope
Another of those feel good tracks that gives you an instant lift. Irresistible!
I agree because I am a qualified lesbian
surely one of the greatest pop rock bands of all time-
amazing band. If someone doesn't like them, I don't even understand. Maybe Fred's style might rub someone the wrong way, but their percussion* and vocals and totally fun quirkiness are one of a kind. * If you wonder why I single out their percussion it's because I saw them in concert at the Minnesota State Fair and they had a person on drums, and another on stuff like bongos, and damn that was something you don't see much
so unique
Absolutely spot on Michael Baurers . they are class .
without doubt Young teens when the52s were on the up happy times
yeah i reckon your right in relation to hip pop-they were just the greatest-
Fred, Cindy and Kate. An absolute phenomenon. My high school days listening 🎧 to these Athens, Georgia guys were some of the best.
The beat is so crisp you can set your watch by it! Every feature of this song is distilled tonal and rhythmic perfection! If only pop music these days was so well crafted!
Well said...very well said.👍
@@BenCorey Thank you! I'm glad we seem to be in agreement! :-D
She's so beautiful. And her hair is just fabulous.
Kate is Great!
Which one? There both beautiful w/ nice hair although Cindy's long hair is probably an extension.
Kate Pierson. But yeah, they're both beautiful actually.
She is a poster girl for redheads
And all that BODY SMH
The end bit 'take it hip to hip rocket through the wilderness' gives me goosebumps. Kate and Cindy sing so beautifully together❤
“Boy mercury”.Best first line in any song ever.
That's also my favorite part.
This track was already a 10/10 and then comes the best bit
Just turned 68 yesterday and their music still pumps me full of joy
This is just about the perfect pop song the harmonies from the girls are spot on and for me it's much more punchier than "Love Shack"
Yeah. This is a smoother groove than love shack
I wish she was my vocalist
It is my fave b52s song. Just love their harmonies so mych
They had some of the tightest harmonies and their voices were so well matched in terms of tone.
Love this song..
For my money the best harmonizing duo in music history. Their voices are solid alone, but turn magical when they come together in energetic harmony.
Love it -- Kate's range is incredible and she and Cindy wore born to sing, to harmonize together. Kate was glamorous -- what a body. And gotta love Cindy's Schiaparelli-inspired sun necklace. What a band -- a sound uniquely their own.
stay away from my girly bub
and they still got it!
Nice take.
Absolutely agree!
😢
One of the all-time great videos of the 80's. Back when originality and talent fused into something beautiful. And there is no living being with a soul that can't love Fred Schneider!
The ambiance of the early 90's .....Beautiful,optimistic and happy
We young people were like this, in unison to these songs

Not so sure about that... Grunge was the antithesis of that, still great music obviously..
@@nealanderson9719 I am a woman
Those two voices had such amazing synergy.
Kate and... Cyndi..is that right
This is one of the most underrated vocal performances in pop music history, and I don’t own a single B-52’s song in ANY format. I’m just glad this is here when I want/need it.
Its alright. The music of the B52s cannot be pigeonholed, and even in the 40 years after the 80s, it's still ahead of it's time.
I know this is dark but I will have this song played at my mothers services. Few other songs take me back to childhood riding in the backseat while mom drives us kids around town. It’s one of her favorites.
Not dark bro, good memories of an easier time..
Yea what reminds one of the past is their own memory and that alone
You are a good son.
I think that would be a great tribute!
Not dark at all Sir. Im glad you can take some joy from the music that formed part of both your lives. Respect.
My late husband loved this song, playing it for him now.

+BIRISHPM Thank you.

I was born into the world hearing my father play this music. We are both still listening 40 years later. This music has a spot in my heart to say the least and i will sing it the day i die

Greetings from England 🏴👍👍
This is by far my most favorite song of the era. I live in Georgia and sadly I never got to see them play. The vocals in this song sends chills down my spine. None better.
It’s so beautiful how they came back strong after Ricky passed away. He’d have love this I’m sure
bobjordan69 , love you and prayers
Essential. Always goosebumps. And that happens rarely for this 59 year old.
I can never tierd of this song
Not enough people appreciate surf-punk
I always loved this song, but I never realized how amazing the music video is! This has gotta be one of the best things I've seen in an long time
I played this song endlessly on cassette back in the day. Played it so much, had to buy the album a second time because I basically wore out the tape.
Just in one spot!
You had a great time doing it ✔
If you didn't you'd probably be dead. I remember a friend of mine saying; You have to listen to the B52. You just have to listen. The man was right.
My friend I am with you with this wonderful song. I used to call the radio station in Toronto call cftr 680 all hits to play this song every day. God the 90s were so great back the for great songs like this.
One of the best bands I've seen live. Grew up listening to them and to see them on stage blew my mind. Voices are unbelievable!! 😍
The iconic voices of some female singers are just... unforgettable.
SO IN LOVE with Kates voice! Harmonies tighter than an ‘E’ string!
These girls had awesome voices. No autotuning either.
Phil Miller didn't exist thank god!
They are amazing.
Only unskilled people use autotune...
Fun music, but I don't hear anything awesome. Just good tone matching. Sorry. Anyone who ever sang in choir . . .
it wasnt always this way.. they had 30 years to perfect the harmonies - listen to earlier stuff and youll see what i mean.
This song could even make 2020 smile.
I'm actually crying and don't know why
@@matheu5mato517 It's an amazing song!

Can't imagine the 80's without this. Perfection. Thank you The Cure.
I will never listen to this song the same again, knowing what I know now. SIP, Julee, and sing with the angels!
I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SOMEONE PASSING. LOVE THIS SONG ❤
Wow ,Kate when she opens up into the first verse, it puts shivers up my spine what an awesome singing combination they make.
This.
She had a Powerful Voice!!! I still love this song!
Like sex and candy.......
.Her vocals in the 29 seconds awsume
Yes and the lyrics she sang showcased her ability to stretch her vocals beautifully always loved the beginning of the track
Just HAD to hear it AND "Get into the Groove"
Been singing this all week, must be a message in there somewhere
something triggered a memory this week for me too !
B52’s brilliant! Kate Pearson amazing! Need more fun music like this
Love these two singing beauties. It's like choosing between Ginger or MaryAnn. There is no wrong answer.
Perfect.
They have hot legs.
Bullshit, the wrong answer is not picking MaryAnn. Always has been.
Can't choose ... I want both! They are both adorable, beautiful and can sing like hell!
You're both wrong. It's Mrs. Howell.
Loved this group...never took themselves to seriously, just created good time pop music~!!
their harmony is unreal - you can't help but join them!
This video ALWAYS makes me smile.
I've got a slight obsession over this band.
embrace it, i have
jada тowner I've had it for about ten years, when I first started really listening their stuff. Love this band. Surprisingly talented despite the "primitive rock" label they have been given.
rozback She's delicious... always has been. As teenager in the late 70's I was really in love with this 'old' fox...
jada тowner me two, for some reason, cant explain it. DR FREUD WHERE R U
jada тowner You are not alone there Jada. :)
This is such a great song, but those two ladies take it to the next level. Pure awesomeness.
I heard this today while driving with my granddaughter and we realized: this is my life's theme song! Roam, if you want to!
Anne Thomas Without wings, without wheels....

Not heard this song for 25+ years..but constantly play it .along with deacon blue,,twist and shout
We should start a club!
I always loved the sound of these two girls and their high unisons and harmonies.
+Lucy Foster That's what I came to say.
Individually they're so good - just check out Kate's recent solo album - but together ... there are no words.
I know. All that and the little rock-girl growl you hear now and then - awesome!
1:17 Cindy being awesome.
My... main Kate Pierson reference is/was "shiny, happy, people". First time I heard this (years later not being a huge B52's fan) still nailed it in seconds.
The guys in rock get a lot of dues about being "an amazing voice". These 2... absolutely on point on harmonies and unisons. Amazing track.
always liked it
Their voices were utterly incredible I couldn't stop listening, so beautiful and melodic. I'm glad to have been a child of the 70s/80s and adult in the 90s.
Kate always looks like she's having the time of her life. What a voice she has.
