One of the things I love most about the new Aston is that it introduces a real frisson of challenge, fear and respect - adding up to some genuine excitement when you push on a little. As pretty much everyone else moves in the direction of putting 0-60 times of 3 seconds and 500+ bhp at the safe, kid-gloved and nannied disposal of people who don’t particularly like cars or who don’t know or have never learned how to drive well.... the new Vantage is like a bare knuckled punch in the face. In a good way.
agree, the previous gen designs were SO good looking, it was always going to be hard to top them, but those front lights look like an MX-5 or Tesla or something. I also preferred the sound of the old 380hp V8 over this rather unrefined AMG unit, though clearly the performance is in a different league.
My only real complaint is the steering wheel. They could have implemented a more sophisticated design instead of the big round flat face. I would definitely get one without the poorly done red interior accents as well. Otherwise, sweet ride.
These have really grown on me, and this one looks amazing in grey with matte black wheels! Shame about the dashboard though, it looks like its come from a cheap hatchback - much prefer the cleaner classy look from the old Vantage.
What a gorgeous car. Although I think they could have improved the interior a tad to match the stunning exterior, I love this car. The Benz 4.0L with that exhaust just sounds lovely.
I loved the central screen that automatically turns off when not in use.I am not aware if this is the trend with every other car but it would be a huge relief otherwise in a world where screens are dominating every inch of the interior and that would make driving at night a pain.

Let's be honest, apart from the badge and history - does it look better than a Jaguar F-Type? Does it sound better than a Mustang GT V8?
Great video as always Harry. Not many taker's for the Aston design in the comments, I have to disagree, I really like the way Aston have chosen to go - it looks good, and think those looks will age well. - The price is really attractive too.
I actually love the exterior design. Interior doesn't look a bit as nice as the exterior though. Nice video as usual Harry.
Lovely car apart from the front styling and that horrendous steering wheel, thanks for a great video Harry.
Someone said this looked like a Renault Laguna Coupe from 2009 and I want to unsee it but I can't.
Are you long sighted?
I think the front end looks like a Miata.
@@NSXTypeRGTRLM first thing I thought was that it looks the same as the new MX-5, bit dire
Looks nothing like a Renault rofl
I think we can all agree it doesn't look as good as its predecessor (which looks even more like a Laguna Coupe but whatever).
The body lines, proportions and overall shape are just gorgeous. Have Aston's reliability and maintenance costs improved lately?
The issue with a "modern" design is that it most likely will not age well.
Which is sadly true for many modern cars, this one included.
Underbird it will age just fine. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Let's give it ten years
I love the body design and the color of this car. One problem though, grey is the same color as the road and when you're moving fast, other drivers may not see you coming.
Harry is so cool! Called the “bird’s eye view camera” stuff, “malarkey” LOL!
You almost got excited round your favourite bends there Harry, this car must be good! :)
Excellent review (as always), love the car, great exterior, still dislike the interior.
5:28. Lol
“Oh I am sorry I pressed the sos by accident “
SOS operator, “ that ok dear, I will stay on the line, you be needing me soon!”
Great video, always a pleasure. Harry, am I the only one who is struggling with the high stance of the Aston?
150k as specced, yet no “tour” mode to spare the lumbar vertebrae of old guys like me who have the means to buy one? Seems odd to me, but I’m sure Aston knows their market far better than I do. Cheers Harry! Thanks for the drive.
After watching the entire video I found the center console cluttered, the exterior a little too busy and the exhaust note exhausting quite frankly. For the first time I think Harry gushed over this particular car a little excessively.
Such a dissapoinment this car is... The previous generations looks so much better, and what the hell is going on on the inside? What were they drinking?
skycrap unfortunately, I have to agree...the front looks kinda generic, the back on the other hand is pretty sexy...but then, I’ve always been an ass man 🤘 but the interior looks like it’s from a 10 year old Merc.
Exactly. It looks Japanese, or at least it doesn't look exotic.
@@doalwaUnfortunately that's part of the deal they have with Mercedes. They're not allowed to use current Merc tech I believe
I have owned previous generation, prior to test drive I was no no, I have now done 33000 miles in two years, and have 2024 car on order
Looks like a mutated clone of the NC Miata.
A production DB10. Stunning.
Love your blogs, Harry, and I am sure you have heard this many times before - I simply cannot make out what you are saying 90% of the time you are in the car! Jay Emm and the like seem not to have this problem.
Sound caption here was made with the same equipment Harry had 20 years ago, when he started the channel 😅
7:00 start/stop mode? Oh dear!
I bet this car will look fabulous in a few years. Designs that are initially kind of hard on the eye usually age the best.
I've been lucky enough to have a poke around the new Vantage a couple of times & i really like it, it's in a way all the car you'd want at a price that's very competitive. Love the styling, it's a very pretty car in the metal. One thing i did notice was i kept banging my head getting in & out of it (I'm 5'5") but i've found since going bald i seem to bang me head on everything. Looking forward to the next review 👍
Great review. Love the exterior, looks, and performance, but dear me what was Aston thinking of with that instrument binnacle and i pad screen. To me it makes the interior tacky for a 120k machine.
Excellent review Harry, I am so torn between waiting to 2020 for 992 4S, I have driven Aston at a Dealer and was very impressed with maybe the ride being a touch harsh, but sound and size on the road was excellent so nice to have a car that fits UK B roads....love the rear it’s like a super modern GT6 from my youth ... the car I looked at was a demo with 3000 miles lots of options and £130.000 .....I feel a deposit is pending
00:00 Harry's favorite road section, driven backwards this time.
13:00 I would return the car after a few days of having that seat-back vibrating next to me.
Beautiful car, typical Aston and that engine sound unbeatable, glad you got out of the garage though as I got distracted by the Kawasaki 750 in the background, now that is cool!
God those first new shape Vantages sounded insane. Like artillery fire. The OPF's absolutely killed off the sound, so quiet and not much character.
Looks like a hybrid of the DB10 in Spectre.
