      Thank you for your kind words! U.S. embassy and consulate processing times can vary based on the visa type and the current workload. As of my last update, there might be delays in Turkey, but it's best to check the embassy's official website or the U.S. Department of State website for the most up-to-date processing times.

      Hello! I'm glad you found the information helpful. For the F2A category for Morocco:
      1. **Visa Bulletin**: You'll need to monitor the U.S. Department of State's Visa Bulletin to see when the priority date for the F2A category for Morocco becomes current.
      2. **Interview Scheduling**: Once the priority date is current and you're documentarily qualified by the NVC, you will be in line for interview scheduling at the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca.
      3. **Consulate Specifics**: Each consulate may have its own specific timelines based on its workload, and the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca is no exception. Some consulates experienced delays due to the pandemic, which could affect processing times.

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      The IR-5 category is for parents of U.S. citizens. Once the I-130 is approved and sent to the National Visa Center (NVC), the NVC will eventually contact the beneficiary (in this case, the parent) for fee payments, DS-260 application, and collection of civil documents.
      However, it's important to note a few things:
      1. **Processing Times**: Even though the IR-5 category is an immediate relative category and is not subject to annual visa quotas (so technically it's "current" in terms of visa bulletin), there are still processing times at the NVC for collecting fees, forms, and documents.
      2. **NVC Backlogs**: There could be delays at the NVC due to backlogs or other administrative reasons.
      3. **Checking the Status**: If it's been several months since USCIS sent the case to the NVC, you might consider contacting the NVC to check on the status. Ensure you have your USCIS receipt number and the NVC case number (if provided) handy.
      4. **Communication**: Make sure to check the email and physical mail address you provided for any communication from the NVC.

      The processing time for the CR1 visa at the U.S. embassy and consulate in Lebanon can vary based on several factors, including the current backlog, the specific circumstances of your case, and any potential security or administrative processing.
      To get the most accurate processing time:
      1. Check the U.S. Department of State's website for current wait times for specific visa categories.
      2. Visit the U.S. embassy in Lebanon's official website for any local updates or advisories.
      3. Directly contact the U.S. embassy or consulate in Lebanon.
      Additionally, ensure all your documentation is complete and accurate to avoid further delays.

    One more question,
    The visa backlog report for the end of august has 25k magically disappear. If the number still pending after the august interviews was 339k and if the NVC did not get a single new green card application approved for September and September had 39.5k interviews scheduled that would make it 300k but the number they show is 275k. What happened to those 25k? Is that a calculation error? Did they finally close cases where people have been dq’d for 12 years and have done nothing? Will these 25k reappear in the backlog?

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад +1

      Firstly, I appreciate your attention to detail regarding the visa backlog report.
      There could be several reasons for the discrepancy you noticed:
      1. **Calculation Error:** It's possible there was a miscalculation or a reporting error. This can happen, and if it's a mistake, it's likely to be corrected in future reports.
      2. **Administrative Closure:** Some cases could have been administratively closed, meaning they might have been temporarily set aside and not counted in the active backlog.
      3. **Applicant Withdrawals:** Some applicants could have voluntarily withdrawn their applications or decided not to pursue their green card.
      4. **DQ’d (Documentarily Qualified) Cases:** As you've mentioned, cases where applicants have been documentarily qualified for many years but haven't moved forward might have been closed.
      5. **Other Reasons:** Deaths, conversions to another visa category, or other administrative changes can also account for changes in the total number.
      To get the most accurate answer, it would be ideal to contact the U.S. Department of State or the agency responsible for the report directly, as they can provide specifics regarding data changes.

      For the most accurate and up-to-date information on the U.S. consulate in Argentina or any specific consulate's backlog, you'd typically want to:
      1. Visit the official website of the U.S. embassy or consulate in Argentina.
      2. Check the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs website, which may have updates on processing times and potential backlogs.
      3. Reach out to the consulate directly via phone or email.
      Remember, the situation can change rapidly, so it's always a good idea to keep checking or get in touch with them directly.

    Hello, you predicted the progression of the F2A visa final action date for October. How did you do this? Also is there any more progress to be expected in this area?

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      Predicting the progression of visa bulletin final action dates, such as the F2A category, involves analyzing a few elements:
      1. **Historical Trends:** One can look at how the final action date has moved in the past months and years during similar conditions to anticipate future movements.
      2. **Current Backlog:** Understanding the number of applicants waiting and the volume of applications processed by the consular offices and USCIS helps gauge potential future movement.
      3. **Visa Quotas:** There are annual limits on the number of visas available in each category. These quotas can dictate the pace of movement.
      4. **External Factors:** This might include policy changes, processing speed at consular offices and USCIS, and other factors like global events that might affect immigration patterns.
      As of my last training cut-off in September 2021, the F2A category (spouses and children of permanent residents) had been "current" for a while, meaning there was no backlog. However, things can change, and depending on the number of applications, it could retrogress or continue to remain current.
      For the latest and most accurate predictions, I recommend checking with the U.S. Department of State's monthly Visa Bulletin and also following insights from reputable immigration attorneys or platforms.

    Santo Domingo, port au Prince, Ho Chi Minh city, Dhaka and Islamabad make up 80 percent of the fb backlog and probably the same for ir visas. There are ~ 116k fb visa backlog if Manila and Juarez are removed for these numbers because they have their own priority dates and India consulate had a big party at the end of august declaring the backlog gone.
    So why are the priority dates not moving when 92k fb visas are at 5 RoW embassies and they cannot clear these backlogs in many years because of the 7 percent limit?

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      The priority dates are not moving because the US government has imposed a 7% per-country limit on the number of immigrant visas that can be issued annually. This means that only 7% of the total number of immigrant visas can be issued to citizens of any one country.
      👉👉As a result, countries with large backlogs, such as the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, are unable to clear their backlogs in a reasonable amount of time.🥱🥱

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      The U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines, is one of the busiest U.S. consular posts when it comes to immigrant visa processing.
      1. **Processing Times**: Wait times can vary. Once the National Visa Center (NVC) has determined that your file is complete, they'll schedule your interview. Given your priority date of September 9, 2022, you might still have some waiting ahead, depending on the category and the current backlog at the embassy. The best way to know your visa's progress is to regularly check the U.S. Department of State's Visa Bulletin.
      2. **COVID-19 Impact**: The COVID-19 pandemic affected visa processing worldwide, leading to delays. The embassy has been working to address the backlog, but some delays might persist.
      3. **Documentarily Qualified**: Being documentarily qualified means that the NVC has all the required documents, and you're in line for an interview scheduling.

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад +1

      Yes, U.S. embassies handle immigrant and non-immigrant visas separately. High demand for tourist visas in Argentina should not directly impact the processing time for immigrant visas. They are two distinct queues. However, general embassy workload or external factors might influence overall processing times.

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      No, even if a consulate doesn't have a backlog, the priority date still needs to be current before an interview can be scheduled. The priority date becoming current is a requirement set by the U.S. Department of State based on visa availability. The consulate cannot override that requirement, regardless of their own backlog situation.
      However, once the priority date is current, if the consulate doesn't have a backlog, the interview process will generally be faster.

    Would you please explain how fast immigrant visas are processed in Dubai?

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад

      The processing speed for immigrant visas in Dubai, like other U.S. consulates and embassies, can vary based on the type of visa, the consulate's current backlog, and other factors.
      1. **Type of Visa**: Different visa categories may have different processing times. For instance, immediate relative visas might be processed faster than family preference or employment-based visas.
      2. **Consulate Backlog**: The number of applications the consulate is handling can affect the wait time.
      3. **Administrative Processing**: Some cases may require additional administrative processing, which can add to the wait time.
      For the most up-to-date and accurate information:
      - Check the U.S. Department of State's website for current wait times.
      - Visit the U.S. Consulate in Dubai's official website or directly contact them.
      Keep your documentation complete and accurate to avoid potential delays.

    Hi Jacob, How about EB3 visa for US Embassy in Singapore?

    • @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer
      @SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer  Год назад +1

      EB3 visa processing at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore, like other consulates, depends on both the worldwide and country-specific availability of EB3 visas. Singapore generally doesn't have a huge backlog in terms of immigrant visa processing, but the priority date for the EB3 category still needs to be current before an interview can be scheduled.
      To get specific wait times and updates on the EB3 category for Singapore:
      1. Monitor the U.S. Department of State's monthly Visa Bulletin.
      2. Check the U.S. Embassy in Singapore's website or contact them directly for operational and processing updates.

      We never hear about Ghana. No one ever has any information about its status. We are F2A, DQ in August 2020, 3 years waiting for interview and now the priority date has retrogressed to January 2018. So another year to wait. I totaled the number of interviews scheduled since April 2021 which was when the Visa Backlog report began. To date, the embassies have held 922,092 interviews. How can it be that we are still waiting?
