@@ybrbnf333 you're dumb af if you actually think that lifting weights correctly while eating in a calorie surplus won't increase your physical strength
@@REVIVALFitness yeah lifting weights can help attract women by changing your overall frame to look more masculine. But gaining excessive size or getting super shredded will repulse women. I've learned this the hard way. If I go over 200 lbs bodyweight I start to gain insane strength in the gym but I'm basically invisible to women. On the other hand when I get super shredded (veins in my abs at 190lbs bodyweight) women are visibly disturbed/scared when they see it in person. Not to mention if you get too lean your D stops working. I'd say being between 12-15% bodyfat while maintaining a V taper and decent strength in the gym is a pretty reasonable goal if you date women
One of the Weider brothers, the founders of "modern Bodybuilding" was gay and used their bodybuilding empire to surround himself with G4P dudes. Ever since the 60s, G4P was an integral part of IFBB, and the main source of financing. The first bodybuilding magazines were nothing more than gay porn magazines. The IFBB has always been a prostitution racket for men, no wonder woman are now also being exploited. One can even argue, that the Weider empire and modern bodybuilding was set up primarily for that purpose. There has been reporting on the issue for many decades, and many still can not see the truth in front of their eyes.
Bostin Loyd (rest in peace) self-admittedly ran a G4P website many years ago. He would recruit young guys who were into bodybuilding who would apparently do live cam shows, and even provide in-person "services" to male customers in exchange for cash and commissions.
I just tell people I work out. I lift weights. I do my own thing. I don't want to compete. I would've wanted to fight, but no gyms near me, and at the ripe age of thirty, I'm not bothering to start from scratch. I've been in plenty of fights even before working out, and now, handling most people is child's play. I don't understand where people think learning to fight puts you on this different plane of existence with danger. The human body is still the human body, and in the real world, a bullet does the trick. So does a knife, a car, a train, or just being beaten down with enough force. You take a strongman competitor and put your average fighter against them, even in the UFC, my money is going to be on the strongman. You gotta close and distance to land meaningful strikes and all Hafthor has to do is grab you and you're done. Those fighters are protected by weight classes for a reason. We saw Connor go up 10 pounds and start to struggle. We saw him switch to boxing and lose because of rules. Even fighting sports protect them and even Floyd walks around with 10 body guards bigger than him. Being a fighter isn't scary in a world where everyone has tools to end each other's lives on a whim.
Same and while I train similar to a bodybuilder I’m even low body fat ripped . I still have no plans of competing. But I love the training aspect of it and transforming my body. I appreciate the hard work these men put into looking the way they do. I don’t think bodybuilders are better than UFC fighters it’s just a different sport both require hard work I personally believe fighting should be for self defense don’t just go out picking fights to assert your dominance like you said someone can just pull a gun in you nowadays
It depends on weight classes. A trained fighter at Haftors size and weight is rare, but if they existed they'd win. Tbh being his size puts you above 99.9 percent of humanity so it isn't really a fair comparison
@@jajaafrica exactly. But fairness wasn't taken into account at all. All that was said, was fighters win because they've been trained. There are absolute barriers out there that can't be naturally crossed. These body builders have super human strength from all the juice. Open class has several that weigh in over 300 lbs after being leaned and dehydrated. They're giant. Strongmen competitors, even more so. They weigh in around 400 to 500 lbs and are also on juice. And like I said, they have all their rules so it's not like a fight is even a fight. It's still a competition. A match. It's regulated. In the real world, knowing how to fight doesn't go very far anymore. People pack heat. People are better off just doing what they love with whatever fitness type suits them so they can keep going, and just prepare for real life as it comes instead of peddling these pointless cliche's.
Haven't watched your video yet but I've always thought that bodybuilders are on the "feminine" side of fitness. More about aesthetics rather than function. Aesthetics is on the feminine side function being masculine and the answer is as usual in between. Having the minimal amount needed aesthetics to attract mates and feel good personally and the rest going into living a best life via performing strongest
This is spot on. Bodybuilding is totally ghey. Oiled up guys in thongs prancing around the stage for the subjective approval of middle aged ghey judges. They aren't athletes. They would collapse if they had to run a quarter mile. They would gas out in 90 seconds in a real fight. They wheeze when they have to tie their shoes. They look 20 years older than their chronological age. They are walking pharmacies that will end up with organ failure prematurely. The bodybuilding sycophants say that the onslaught of all these deaths is a " genetic predisposition" lol. It is in reality a bunch of Darwin award winners meeting their fate.
I’ve had bodybuilding fanboys comment “drug testing will stop these deaths.” LOL, as if drug testing even means anything, let alone will deter people from striving for first. Rewarding physiques that don’t require so many PEDs is the only way to fix this at all.
"it in reality a bunch of Darwin award winners meeting their fate" God damn couldn't have said it any better myself they do all this harm to their body just so someone can say hey you look better than that over guy
7:30 Competitive Bodybuilding is definitely closer to a Beauty Pageant than most sports/athletic competitions, but then are gymnasts or figure skaters not athletes? (I would say that Gymnastics and Figure Skating is definitely closer to competitive dancing than most sports/athletic competitions though...)
Gymnastics and figure skating at least involve tangible athletic aspects like agility, strength, etc. A bodybuilder can have tons of fake muscle/be filled with oil and still win. It’s just how you appear.
@@REVIVALFitness agreed, I'd say flexing and posing is what brings it somewhat closer to some things gymnasts, etc., do: moving their bodies with control and precision to get points from the judges; however, it's no doubt much more skill/talent-dependent to do a gymnastics routine than a posing routine. I don't hesitate to use the word "athlete" for a gymnast, but I see how mastery of flexing/posing your muscles/body does take skill/practice. If Bodybuilding is a sport and competitors are athletes, it's definitely on one of the lowest levels of the sports/athletics hierarchy.
Can’t speak for bodybuilders because I’m not one, but I can say that I have no interest in fighting or intimidating anyone right now. I have been a competitive martial artist in the past and while I enjoy the competitiveness and the athleticism I just don’t really enjoy punching people (or getting punched) enough by nature. I know a lot of fighters who get really jazzed up about their ability to inflict violence and they just sound like psychopaths to me. I would never want to hurt someone if it can be avoided, that’s just how I’m wired
Bronze Age Pervert has the best line on this: if you cannot look at a glorious physique without feeling aroused by it, it only reveals something in the viewer and not the subject. Seeing a half naked guy flexing should inspire you to chase aesthetics etc. and not induce some sort of sexual thought.
@@GoatHolyfield they are a part of reality just like everything else, you should use as fuel to strive to improve. If there's a better looking guy out there, don't you want to put in work so u can mog him in a year or two? Hard to explain for somebody that doesn't have this drive.

I think there’s more nuance to the whole bodybuilding is gay thing. Like I have no interest in competing, I like playing sports, college volleyball right now is 100% way more appealing to me than ever competing. But spend more time doing bodybuilding training. I spend more time thinking about it. Because it’s fun and I enjoy it. Pushing myself hard and getting stronger and bigger is what appeals to me and I don’t think that’s really gay. Looking at other dudes and comparing myself definitely is tho or guys complimenting me but really I just find that to be part of the hobby. When I was 15-25 I wanted to be a body builder (not super bad but I thought Arnold was cool). At the time I knew nothing about body building or steroids. Also I loved fighting & I thought body building would make me stronger & a better fighter. Also I didn't know any body builders at the time (I never met many) & I didn't think of body building as straight or gay.
Lol if anything it’s the opposite, people who don’t have the discipline to be bodybuilders do something easier. This is why you see so many fat guys at the gym permabulking with their chalk and lifting straps claiming they are powerlifters. Let’s be real here, every guy wants to look like a Greek god, turn heads with their physique everywhere they go. Anyone who claims otherwise is a liar.
I remember coath Blaha saying that professional bodybuilding is nothing but drugs and gay prostitution. This was back in the "+5 hat of speechcraft" era .
Andrew Tate doesnt really seem like he takes his own words seriously. He may actually feel that way but he exaggerates it to gain reaction like what you said lmao.
Real question, why isn't there weight classes for bodybuilder, like fighting and many other sports? You could even have bodyfat percentage classes. Like, it could become more of an art form, or a normal sport. Furthermore, you could allow steroids or gear, but limit the amount and tailor it to each weight classes. Then it would be more about actually sculpting your body then lifting heavy weights and taking gear, not that there isn't some skill or sculpting with modern bodybuilding, just not as much as there could be.
There are weight classes in certain divisions. Certain ones have height classes too, but these often change, and the judging criteria is always subjective and variable. Re: PEDs, there’s no way to ‘limit’ the amount of gear based on division. Everyone is taking the max amount they can afford and physically handle without serious side effects. It’s just the nature of the game.
Simon Miller talks about how he'd love to compete in MMA but there's no point if you don't have that killer instinct. You have to want to physically kill your opponent and it's the refs job to stop you. Very few people have that mindset.
I will admit that me going to the gym has helped my confidence a lot, even though I do have some boxing training, I am aware I get a bit too cocky and think I could do more then I can lol
Gotta stay humble bro. I also get a bit too cocky when I dedicate a bunch of time to kickboxing as opposed to lifting. I don't go out looking for fights but I do find myself with an unhealthy confidence that I could take a lot of people in hypothetical fights lol. Not good at all
The drug abuse in bodybuilding that got popular during the 70s really breaks my heart. A lot of people have really lost touch with what the sport was supposed to be about originally
@@jajaafrica he's lifted weights before. In that case I agree with Andrew. As a lot of bodybuilders do gay for pay as bodybuilding in itself doesn't pay the bills.
I did watch a documentary most recently on the supplement business and synthetic nutrition portion of the bodybuilding business. Comments were made concerning homosexuality used as an incentive for access to the industry.
I am a supporter of Andrew Tates overall message for men. I also like that a man of his influence is against bodybuilding but for the gym in general. He believes in the gym not for looking pretty but for the sake of becoming strong, powerful and healthy. This is a much better approach than blasting PEDs and then getting to dangerously low bodyfat levels. I'm sick of hearing another young bber passing away. This 'sport' is not worth it. I've heard Jason Blaha refer to it as a death cult once and he is not wrong.
Brock lesnar is a former hw ufc champ and has never competed in body building so what is your point exactly? Unranked ufc feather weights would mop the floor with every body builder you could name
This seems like a problem of labels and semantics more than anything. “Bodybuilding” as a term, instantly invoked the idea of the drug users and stage competitors. That’s definitely a beauty pageant. I guess I can understand why “recreational bodybuilding” is “not a thing”. But what they hell else would you call someone who is lifting to max their strength and size? As far as them being “athletes”, I file the dedicated lifters into the same category as golfers. Most people who spend years on their golf game never actually compete. It’s an activity/hobby of personal bests. So what’s the correct term of somebody who does progressive strength training and improving physical condition without ever intending to compete?
There are tons of recreational lifters who pose, flex, and max out, but they neither compete in bodybuilding nor powerlifting (the formalized activities). I would say recreational lifter (maybe gym enthusiast). Even if you’re extremely passionate and take everything 100% seriously, unless you compete, you don’t get the title imo.
i think hes kinda projecting when it comes to the reasons someone would to bodybuilding, i personally do it because its just what i want to do and it really speaks to me when it comes to bodybuilding being g@y i kinda agree, sometimes i see a post of a bunch of shirtless dudes and i think "thats g@y as fuck lol"
Juicers, yeah, something up there mentally. If you’re just working out to be stronger for health reasons, which at my age, over 50, is important for a good life in my opinion, it’s not about fighting. I conceal carry for that. 😁
Recreational - relating to or denoting activity for enjoyment when one is not working. Like people use drugs for recreational use, but by your opinions it's not recreational because they're not smoking 100s of joints a day to be in the world joint smoking championship. If you are doing something for enjoyment it is recreational, as stated by the English dictionary.

It's great that you pointed out the corruption within pro bodybuilding. When you hear a story like the crucifixion of Kal Szkalak & Joe Weider's very shady business practices, you'll know pro BB was corrupt from the beginning. Add G4P & s3x exploitation, the place is rightfully called a "freak show." Pro BB is perhaps the dumbest thing for bodybuilding currently. Silver era, not too bad; now, not good.
As someone is who is a fan of bodybuilding and multiple different martial arts (as well as MMA) i am very conflicted with this. On one hand i understand that yes body building is subjective. But no more than professional boxing and certain other combat sports are. Unless you get KO or TKO finish in pro boxing or mma (and others) then the scoring is up to the judges subjective opinion. Judges from the same boxing fight consistently differ from each other and so do the fan's... just like bodybuilding. The same argument Tate makes to proves that BB isn't a real sport is the same argument you can use against his kickboxing credentials.
Pit two non fighters against one another and one is in shape cardiovascularly, lifts his body weight plus….the other guy is getting destroyed lololol. I lift for aesthetics…not power lifting, not PRs….only aesthetics. Everyone has a different reason.

What crazy is these are the same guys saying "the only people that compliment my muscles are other men" yea maybe it because you are only hanging around men with y'all shirt off😂
All people get into martial arts/combat sports because they feel insecured and were bullied I'd rather focus on building as much muscle and strength as impossible since I discovered that a gun beats grappling and striking along with weapons beating hands every time... after training Muay Thai, BJJ and Judo for five years straight for six days a week in high school and college.
I had a situation at my gym once, that one of the trainers talked shit about powerlifting and went like "dude, you don't need deadlifts and squat to get that beach shape, those powerlifters are not impressive at all, do you think you will attract a woman telling her how much you lift, bro?" and I was like "yeah, but it isn't the only goal for trainning with heavy weights because you might end up attracting only guys even if you are in your best shape geared or otherwise..." also, if one is not one gear, and buys mainly the core neccessities of heavy lifting, while paying only for a gym memebership+P.T, I dont think it should be that expensive to get the better end of the deal. Just be honest about your goals and motives for getting into gym culture, you might as well get into other kind of activity such as different dancing styles. edit: this video destroyed any chance of me competing bodybuilding

Some I knew when I lived in SoCal during the 90's were doing G4P, not because they were gay, but in order to survive and afford the drugs necessary to reach the upper levels in BBing.
SoCal is a major gay hub in general. Add the bodybuilding subculture to that... yeah.
@@REVIVALFitness When I was in San Diego, I had just finished my workout and stopped by a Ralph's (in Hillcrest) for some food, Rob Halford tried to pick me up.

@@jacekblachsiewierski7140 I'd say mid 40s is more likely
Absolutely correct. Bodybuilding is literally an endeavor where you get on a stage wearing a thong in front of a crowd of men hoping that they think you look good. Also the only people you'll get compliments from about your body are other men. Bodybuilding is 100% gay. Personally I lift so I can be strong and feel good. I'm just addicted to lifting. But it is true that muscle does very little to attract women...... That being said once you start to really persue bodybuilding..... That's when you become sus
General muscle will attract a good % of women. Being ultra shredded and/or national level bodybuilding size attracts men.
lifting weights doesn't make you strong. It's just teach you to move more weights or maybe some refrigerators once or twice in your life. It has nothing with being strong
@@ybrbnf333 Bonehead comment.
✅
Bostin Loyd (rest in peace) self-admittedly ran a G4P website many years ago. He would recruit young guys who were into bodybuilding who would apparently do live cam shows, and even provide in-person "services" to male customers in exchange for cash and commissions.
Gay for pay was a thing in bodybuilding as far back as the sixties and no doubt before then.

Lifting for power/strength and lifting for bodybuilding are definately different things.

There was a lot of rumors about Joe Weider doing stuff like that. Taking advantage of people.
I don't think they're only rumors.

I just like to look good and be strong, the competition side of it has no appeal to me, probably because as you said, it is a pretty feminine sport.
Bronze Age Pervert is a homosexual
Why would you want to see a half naked guy in the first place is the real question 🤔
@@GoatHolyfield they are a part of reality just like everything else, you should use as fuel to strive to improve. If there's a better looking guy out there, don't you want to put in work so u can mog him in a year or two? Hard to explain for somebody that doesn't have this drive.

Maybe MMA fighters secretly want to be bodybuilders that didn't have the genetics to get big and strong. It can go both ways and both are silly to me. People like different things.
MMA fighters get strong without getting big, strength has more practical application than size.
Bodybuilding is all about vanity. MMA is all about savagery!
I have been saying bodybuilding shows are beauty pageants for years now lmao
Not trying to make generalizations but a good number of competitive bodybuilders do some "questionable" work on the side.

What the point of looking like greek god if you can't fight for shit
I agree. I would be much more inclined to do pro wrestling like he does since it’s more story based and theatrical rather than utter savagery.

@@jajaafrica he's lifted weights before. In that case I agree with Andrew. As a lot of bodybuilders do gay for pay as bodybuilding in itself doesn't pay the bills.

Lol “hybrid athletes.” Sounds like a comic book where some dude is part panther but also plays soccer or something.

Well every guy in the gym does it
What crazy is these are the same guys saying "the only people that compliment my muscles are other men" yea maybe it because you are only hanging around men with y'all shirt off😂
All people get into martial arts/combat sports because they feel insecured and were bullied I'd rather focus on building as much muscle and strength as impossible since I discovered that a gun beats grappling and striking along with weapons beating hands every time... after training Muay Thai, BJJ and Judo for five years straight for six days a week in high school and college.
That's interesting.
I found out that guns exist without doing any Muay Thai, BJJ or Judo at all.
I had a situation at my gym once, that one of the trainers talked shit about powerlifting and went like "dude, you don't need deadlifts and squat to get that beach shape, those powerlifters are not impressive at all, do you think you will attract a woman telling her how much you lift, bro?" and I was like "yeah, but it isn't the only goal for trainning with heavy weights because you might end up attracting only guys even if you are in your best shape geared or otherwise..."
also, if one is not one gear, and buys mainly the core neccessities of heavy lifting, while paying only for a gym memebership+P.T, I dont think it should be that expensive to get the better end of the deal. Just be honest about your goals and motives for getting into gym culture, you might as well get into other kind of activity such as different dancing styles.
