Despite the challenges, it looks like a great walk with stunning views at every turn. Also, a perfect way to wind up: a nice meal and a drink-which, I’m sure, tasted all the better for having come at the end of your long day! Thanks for being our tour guides! (Also, thanks again for the maps and graphics. Makes it quite easy to orient.)
Nice shorts James and Karen you must be the first Lady ever to get excited about caching a Bus. Awesome footage guy's and Wow some beautiful views, once again I bet you wish you had your Kayak with you James.👍
Cheers David. It was a great walk. I have to say, at the end of the walk I said - never again (mainly due to a couple of 'iffy' section). However, now we are back home, I'm thinking differently now. LOLs. Cheers Glad you liked it. James
@@JamesFleming888 videos are great. I think we are following some of your canoe routes (on loch Lomond new year's Day...with 100 loony dookers....😆😆). You guys are a great inspiration for us retirees....cheers 👏👏👍😁

Hi James, we’re off to playa Blanca next week and having seen your videos we’re going to do Hacha Grande and walk to puerto Calero. Can you hug the coast all the way or do you have to detour in land.? Thanks for the videos and inspiring us.
Hey Anthony thanks for watching and leaving the feedback. If you are leaving Playa Blanca (PB) to walk to Hacha Grande (HG) and then on to Puerto Calero (PC), there are a couple of ways doing the route. For me the most shortest and coming away from the coast, it'll be quicker this way. However, this is a VERY steep route up. Be warned...From PB head to the area marked on Google maps as Taquilla (Toll - Unnamed Road, 35570 Yaiza, Las Palmas, Spain). From there just head up the path to the only farm up the hill to this point...www.google.com/maps/@28.8740694,-13.7563187,306m/data=!3m1!1e3!5m1!1e4?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTEwNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D once you get to this point, just follow the VERY steep path UP... It's worth it. Once up the top, take the shoulder off the hill, East - South - East to the coast line. You'll eventually come to piles of small cairns (with white tops - those that haven't fallen over), follow them downwards off the hill to the coast. Once down on the coastal path, just follow the path to PC and enjoy a cold drink. If you were to hug the coast line from PB and take a right angle up HG it'll add a lot of time on to your day, and it's a big enough day. Remember, take plenty of water, sun screen and a hat. Enjoy, let me know how you get on. James
Great video. Many thanks! We may walk the couple of miles from Puerto Calero to Puerto del Carmen in October, but the 16 miles to Playa Blanca? I'd think twice about driving that far!
If you do it in reverse watch out for the stretch along the coast line from Los Haches to Punta Gorda, we lost the track a bit and headed inland, which took us a bit longer. Have fun but always take more water than you need, sun screen and hat. James
Hi. Thanks for the video. Am thinking of doing that walk. Can you remember what time you got to Play Quemada? I can chicken out and get a taxi from there!
Hey there, We got into Playa Quemada about 3pm. That said, from there to Puerto Calero is 3k. Good luck and let us know how you fair. Take lots of water.
Hi James, I have just been up Hacha Grande, what a fantastic walk. Not a cloud in the sky and no wind on the summit. My wife fancies walking from P. Blanca along the coast to P. Valero. What is this like, can you keep close to the sea or do you regularly have to go inland to avoid some of the ravines/gorges? Thanks again keep inspiring us.
Fantastic, HG is by far my favourite walk there. The views are cracking. Well done both of you. Yes, for most of the walk it's 90% along the coast. We might have stayed off the coast path a bit but we made our way back onto it. There is one or two steep (really steep) parts. Make sure you have one of the maps with the walks on it, plenty water, sunscreen, hats and some food - it's a long walk but there's great restraints at the end! Have fun and well done! James

LOLs, getting the bus it was just too much fun when you've not been on one for a while.
Cheers George.

Good effort, it took me long enough to drive that!
Ohhh, some of those 4x4 tracks looked pretty challenging to say the least.
Looks like a great walk James. Well done to you both....👍👏
