  • Tim and Monty demonstrate how easy it is to build the Saitek Pro Flight Simulator Cockpit Shell. This custom-built shell is the perfect hangar for all your flight sim gear. See how easy it is to create the ultimate SimPit.
    Saitek's cockpit shell is an ideal solution for the flight simulation enthusiast and the PPL student who prefers to configure their own cockpit. It's professional-grade, heavy-duty construction and specifically designed to house Saitek Pro Flight components. The neutral design allows you to replicate popular aircraft trainers like the Cessna Skyhawk and the Piper Archer. When used with an appropriate PC, screen, and either Microsoft Flight Sim X, X-Plane, or Prepar3D, the cockpit can help you become fully familiar with the controls, processes and navigation systems of the world's most popular light aircraft.

    I bought a panel and just wanted to get an idea on how to install the components. This just showed me 2 guys running around and the equipment is in place. I couldn't see what they were doing or how they connected things. This is not a good idea if you are interested in selling more products. Take your time and show people how it is done we don't make mistakes, waste time or destroy things.
    I downloaded the manuals but they just showed how to install on a table! Nothing about the cockpit.
    Thanks

    Saitek, get your mind straight. Nobody will buy an empty cockpit she'll for $2500. I think if you offered this for $500-$700 then you'd have many more buyers. This is something I would buy, but for $2000 less.

    Saitek fucked up by game locking these. If they worked on games like War Thunder, IL2 DCS, Falcon 4.0, Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen more people would buy them! Right now the complete set is like $3k total and locked to a single game or two.

    • @pip5528
      @pip5528 8 лет назад +2

      These are intended for serious flight simulators, not games like War Thunder or Elite Dangerous which have some degree of flight simulation, but not to the point of having adjustable trim, radio frequencies, etc. That's why. You can't necessarily say they did something bad by not supporting those games for this type of hardware because this type of hardware REALLY isn't intended for those types of games, and using this type of hardware for those games would be pointless! For games like that, you would be fine with just a joystick or HOTAS of some sort because those games don't have complex flight simulation mechanics like FSX or X-Plane do.

      if saitek really wanted to make a huge impression on the pro simulation side of things, they should have made replica a320/747/737/777 throttles yokes and sidesticks. they are usually very expensive so many simmers would love a plastic cheaper alternative

    • @pip5528

    This is nice for an overview. BUT - it would be nice to go over this in real time and show how to set this all up. This is a great setup but a good video of how it goes together and how it all works would be great.

    $2,500 for a cockpit shell is ridiculous! Call me when your having a %65 off sale. Especially, once you consider the additional Saitek products that people would buy once they had this to work with.

    • @kakaoen4
      @kakaoen4 8 лет назад

      +Mike N Not only the shell but all the LCD screens, the yoke, the rudder and the other flight controls is included in that price.

    • @miken3170
      @miken3170 8 лет назад +2

      +Ryan rosenberg That's incorrect. For that price, you'd think they would be included. If you want that, it's $4,999!!! check out mypilotstore.com and you'll see for yourself. If it was $2,500 for everything, I probably would've purchased it.

    Guys, remember to take the crack out of the bag before you smoke it! I love your stuff and have all of it. Unfortunately 2500 for the cockpit she'll is a bit too much. I chose to install all my Saitek gear into the advanced cockpit panel for 300. While I agree that it isn't exactly the level of product you offer, for $2200 less, it is definitely worth considering. I just don't understand why you are charging so much for a similar empty panel shell...

    Lets 5000 dollars for a rig that only looks like a few models or build my own modular unit for 300 dollars materials and then 2800 dollars worth of gauges and controllers which gives me the option to re-configure the home built box to accommodate and replicate the size/layout of about 200 + models. Well I already built the custom so no need to set 5k on fire on this garbage.

    With every home cockpit I see the same issue again and again... Cockpit being mounted on a regular desk means your computer screen showing outside view is way too high. When flying an airplane you usually don't need to break your neck to see outside!

    Its not really the price that worries me. It is just that for those prices, you want semi-unbreakable equipment! Being a huge aviation fan i bought those exact same pedals, yoke and throttles. Within 3 years, all the throttles glitch so insanely much flying with them is impossible, the screen of the yoke does not display anything but green light, and all the left hand buttons do not work anymore. If I were to invest in your stuff, how can i know for sure that it won't fail that easily?
    I think i'd rather just buy a big screen for cockpit layout, more flexibility and cheaper! Just need new throttles...

  • @MrAlastairwylie

    everyone I have bought most of these products and although they are expensive be prepared to spend more money because I have had to buy a pretty beefy power supply for my computer and a couple of sticks of RAM for it too work so everyone take note once you have bought everything it isn't over spending yet

Yes we all want to have a simulator but 2500 then you have to buy all guages bells and whistles it could be about 5/6 grand. Sorry I'd rather pay that down on a deposit on a real cessna 172/180 and pay it up.come down on your prices China can make that for 2/3 hundred.
