I started playing Sublogic's Flight Simulator II at the age of 12 and from then on I was determined to become a pilot which I did and have now flown professionally for 31 years. But my love for flight simulator has remained and as it has gotten more realistic I've told my wife that when I retire in just over a decade I want a really nice simulator. I doubt I'll have anything like this (though I would love to!). This set up is nothing short of amazing. The reason I would love a set up like this when I retire is to be able to enjoy all the things I love about flying minus all the not so fun stuff that comes with a professional flying career.
    Very well done sir!

I’m 18 and in the next week and a half i’m getting my private pilots license. I’m going to a part 141 school to become a commercial pilot. Very very excited to become a commercial pilot, but my love for flight simulators will probably never go away. Now with you saying there are negatives i’m slightly worried (I’m mostly joking). I would definitely love to talk to someone who has been flying professionally for years!! Best of luck on your retirement, sir!

@@justintime41776 my first flight was on a 747 400. I had a centre seat and because we were flying on that special employee thing (my dad was an aircraft mechanic) where you can go for a discounted price but have no say where you end up in the plane, my dad was somewhere else. I sat next to an extremely nervous orthodox jewish person that wouldn't stop rocking back and forth silently chanting and murmering, and a nice lady that kept telling me that take-off and flying was easy, it's just that landing was a controlled crash.. it was a 12 or 14 hour flight from Amsterdam to New York. With all the lovely flavours of turbulence and screaming babies added to the mix. It's been well over 20 years now since that flight and apart from one relapse where I took a plane to dublin I managed to keep to boats and trains for now. XD

Something so grand needs a friend to share it with. I think it would lonely being in the cockpit after 100;s of hours.

    This is undeniably amazing.
    But also...
Spending similar money on this setup, to getting a real pilots license and a little beginner airplane..

Maybe he likes flying without the danger of actually crashing?
