Come on guys, it's old television. They just dubbed over Scooby's barks with the translation, because some of the audience is too young to read captions.
Heidi Fedor you need to watch “The Venture Bros”. There’s one episode I believe it’s called “vivas los muertos”. The premise of the episode is that there is a group of traveling detectives kids called the “groovy gang”. It’s a demented twist on Scooby doo. “Shaggy” is the only one who can hear scooby, and scooby is evil. “Fred” bribes “Shaggy” with groovy snacks which are anti-psychotic medications. “Daphne” is a some sort of heiress who has been kidnapped and “Velma” is some of Feminist freedom fighter.
These days? Yes, Fred was a creep. He wasn’t only a creep, but was a serial sexual harasser. Ah, yet another example of toxic masculinity. Anyone who acts like him is a creep, but can get away with it because? The patriarchy, of course.
Some of those ages are wrong, Fred and Daphne are actually 16 (in Scooby Doo where are you) and Shaggy is 17. My source for this is what Warner brothers have published in books about the Scooby Gang.
I love Scooby Doo!! I grew up on Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons and Jabber Jaw. they all had laugh tracks!! it's what made them fun to watch.
More and more of these get made and all they do is feed into single mind thinking. This video recycles ideas described in previous videos under new words. Scooby doo was a cartoon that followed a serialized pattern and was fun.
Note that, some of the monsters in Scooby Doo are, in fact, real, as is magic. That's likely part of why they rarely have that first instinct to rip off the masks. Interestingly, one of the few times we ever see the sun is in one of the same times we see real monsters. In this case, plural, as Scooby and Shaggy were working as teachers in a dedicated school for them, and we know of three *separate* real Draculas, at least two of which in the same Scooby Doo universe/timeline, and literally one movie apart, yet very clearly entirely separate characters..
It's not as if he's the most violent character in a kids show. They used to do mobsters in loony tunes for God's sake, not to mention a psychotic rabbit hunter and an obsessed coyote who uses military grade weaponry to hunt a roadrunner. Yeah if you find that disturbing, you're not paying attention to the real world at all. Most of the time it was the mere threat of violence and not any actual violence. He's the very definition of a bark worse than his bite.
I grew up watching Scooby Doo Where Are You(1969-1974). I love when they come up with Scooby Doo cousin Scooby Dum. When someone says a clue Scooby Dum he acts like a good detective and say Dum Dum Dum Dum Dum Dum? He always has manners and shows respect to others but yet he's very Dum.
I thought that the shortness of Daphne's skirt was going to be on the list. As a kid I definitely noticed that. I think Daphne is the reason I prefer redheads. :) I was always kind of disappointed that the ghosts and monsters never turned out to be real. Also, I notice that in the clip in the video, it seems that Scooby speaks more clearly in the later shows. I remember him being barely understandable in the old classic episodes. I always thought it was strange that Scrappy (who I hated) could speak perfect English while Scooby would have a grunt sound at the start of all his words. "Rut-roh, Raggy..."
While watching Charlie Browns Thanksgiving special... Fred - Let's see who's behind this fiendish scheme! (pulls off fake dog's head) Mystery Gang - Gasp! It was the abandoned amusement park owner all along! Villain - Yeah! With this dog suit and just one story line, I figured I could keep this series going for 50 years or more. And I would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for...etc...etc
My late sister was a child of the 70s and LOVED Scooby Doo. One of my fondest memories is the time I watched her childhood shatter in her head and slowly reassemble after I pointed out to her that Scooby and Shaggy were stoners. ".....oh my god _they _*_were."_*
No, they weren't. It's just a mean joke because they're a product of the 60s. It's one thing if people are still making the joke, but it's another when it's believed as truth, which many do. Shaggy ran track in school and due to the constant fright of monsters in masks he and Scooby did a lot more running. Which means more eating.
Scooby Doo is not a stoner. He's a dog. Dogs are always hungry. And there has been characters throughout the franchise that were shocked when they heard Scooby talk.
That is a reason I love the scooby movies that address the fact that every monster they meet is a man in a mask, like zombie island and the live action movies, where they assume it's fake, but then are flabbergasted when it isnt
I mean, What's New and Mystery Incorporated were pretty solid shows. I'd definitely give What's New a shot, with it having a very wide variety of episodes.
@@tigerclaw8775 My Mother would probably kill me for saying this, but back in the 70s when she had brown hair and wore glasses, she kind of looked a bit like Velma.
All meme joking aside I wonder just how powerful Shaggy really is? He can run on water while carrying Scooby, jump 12 feet up while on a falling rock, beat up a whole biker gang by himself and lift over 4 tons and toss it. All that is things he has done in movies or one of the shows. Shaggy is the most under rated character on Scooby-Doo
Shaggy and Daphne indepently wealthy. Shaggy has inherited millions, on screen, and Daphne's rich parents are always talked about. Fred's style of dress and overall disposition, as well as rooms he's been seen dwelling in, also suggests he may be wealthy. Though Velma's financial status has also never been addressed and there are no obvious clues, she may also be wealthy.
Daphne is the most wealthy person of the group like her bedroom is bigger than my WHOLE house 😭😭 And Daphne's father bought the Mystery Machine if I'm not mistaken
Assuming looper has watched or read every version of Scooby Doo and it's all cannon. 1. Daphne comes from a very wealthy family and for the most part have supported her and given money to the group. That is also where they recived the van from. 2. Fred's dad was a former mystery solver/bit of a crook.
3:20 Shaggy's original voice actor, the late Casey Kasem, insisted that Shaggy is a vegetarian, and even refused to voice him for a Subway commercial advertising meat products because of it.
The show was made in the 60s with a 70s style to it, yes. The talking dog idea has been used before/around this time and plenty after this. Why are the "kids" on their own? Like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys or Archie and his pals, the idea is to show young people dealing with problems on their own, yet adults are also seen from time to time helping them too. I always thought the Scooby gang has Daphny covering the cost of livingbecause she comes from a rich family, also inScooby meets the Boo Brothers, Shagy ends up with his family treasure but gives it away but probably kept a bit to pay things off too? It wasn't meant to be over thought out, just enjoyed. That's why it has last for so many years. Like other original classic cartoons that last over the years.
Well guys, this is a... cartoon. It ain't Sherlock Holmes or Shakespeare. Yeah, I can recall as a kid the laugh track making me pause for a moment. But really, you either roll with it or you don't. And I can't blame Fred for always pairing up with Daphne.
The Gang has not always dealt with greedy landowners. As early as The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show. We start adding in actual supernatural beings to ever few episodes. This fallows the return of Daphne. And precedes The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.
I thought the Mystery Incorporated reboot was rather good. Having a series focused on story driven plots and character development was interesting imo.
I always thought that the laugh-tracks was a nice touch to the cartoon. It added to the flair of the show. I also was pleasantly surprised when I first rewatched Scooby-Doo as a teenager that it was blatantly obvious that Shaggy and Scooby were complete Stoners! Fred and Daphne were definitely trying to F*ck every chance they got, especially when the group had to split up. I really appreciated all of the super crazy off the Wall guest stars that appeared on the show. Who would have ever thought that Batman would be trying to solve the same case/mystery as Mystery Incorporated. But Batman wouldn’t be the only Superhero The Gang would team up with. The episodes where they would encounter Tje Blue Falcon were just as great as The Batman episodes. Hell, they even teamed up with the Freaking Three Stooges! Scooby-Doo is A classic and a really fun show overall.
1) How does the actor providing the voice for a character get to impose his personal eating habits on the property of a studio ? 2) Isn't it funny that after doing so, Casey Casem went mysteriously missing... It's a mystery neither Shaggy nor Scooby chose to solve... and 3) Veganism and vegetarianism improperly nutritionalized and monitored are potentially very harmful philosophies to let children with growing / developing bodies undertake. Not cool to press that on kids. ( I'm fine with adults who CHOOSE the Vegan/Veg. life, but don't pressure it on kids.)
Shaggy was never a vegan in my childhood so that can't be ruined. This was just a sad case of the producers bowing to the whims of the performer they most wanted while not considering whether or not it would tarnish the character's legacy, which it did in a way.
I guess I never knew Scrappy Doo was the most hated or even hated. I was a little kid and I loved him, I liked the fact he was the only one that had balls now that I think about it cause I always liked when he would stand up to the bad guys. Tell me you don't like it when baby Groot stands up to the bad guys.
uh i noticed something in scooby doo thing wich is group of people makeing people dance intill they drop and it was a real thing rl cause it called "danceing plague" the only wrong thing is no one knows who did it but in scooby doo ofc they found out
I always saw it as there are more animals that could talk so it's normal for them to meet a talking dog. And they solve mysteries so that's why they're always traveling and Daphne is rich so that's how they have gas to travel every day. Also it's a cartoon

@@deckardcain9789 in mystery incorporated it was explained that he's descended from being from other dimensions
So, basically, every guy who ever chased after a girl is a creep. Thanks.
These days? Yes, Fred was a creep. He wasn’t only a creep, but was a serial sexual harasser. Ah, yet another example of toxic masculinity.
Anyone who acts like him is a creep, but can get away with it because? The patriarchy, of course.

You totally lost me when you began talking about the "reality" of Scooby Doo CARTOON
A Cartoon aimed at children unconcerned about unimportant thing like laws of physics and logic.
The ages from the OG:
Fred:18
Shaggy: 18
Dap: 17
Vel: 16
Scooby : 7
I would have thought Velma was older than Daphne
that sounds about right, your source?
Some of those ages are wrong, Fred and Daphne are actually 16 (in Scooby Doo where are you) and Shaggy is 17. My source for this is what Warner brothers have published in books about the Scooby Gang.
I believe you but for one I was curious and two it's nice to prove people wrong if you've got a source
Stimpson J. Kat it was on the back of the scooby doo action figure box .
I love Scooby Doo!! I grew up on Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons and
Jabber Jaw. they all had laugh tracks!! it's what made them fun to watch.
More and more of these get made and all they do is feed into single mind thinking. This video recycles ideas described in previous videos under new words. Scooby doo was a cartoon that followed a serialized pattern and was fun.
Serialized pattern .....lol like when they ran past the same bush 30xs lol probably the mushrooms.....don't give these yahoos any ideas please
I am 69 in 2019. I looked forward to watching this show every week.
Remind yourself. You are a freak.
Puppy power was my favorite! Scrappy holds a special place in my heart.
Was anyone at all ever disturbed by Scrappy Doo’s “violent” behavior... really?
I was. But then I was taught that fighting should be a last resort and he seemed overly aggressive.
I think he (scrappy) was created to be similar to tiny dogs with big attitudes, like chihuahuas etc, not attack dog like violent.
I think the name says it all. Scrappy as in feisty or short tempered. Ballsy, always ready for a fight or scrap.
well he is only aggressive due to self defense obsession or paranoia kinda disturbing huh?
Why do people have read into things?? Just seat back and enjoy the cartoon ..
I thought that the shortness of Daphne's skirt was going to be on the list. As a kid I definitely noticed that. I think Daphne is the reason I prefer redheads. :)
I was always kind of disappointed that the ghosts and monsters never turned out to be real.
Velma was much more interesting a character.
If you like revealing outfits on animated female characters, check out my girl Shego from "Kim Possible" -- and occasionally Kim herself.

Don't ruin my childhood, I still love Scooby
Scooby-Doo is actually just a few kids tripping out at a party, discussing elaborate scenarios and thinking they can talk to their dog.
While watching Charlie Browns Thanksgiving special...

Son: but kids can't use knives

What series/episode/movie is that at 0:24 where Scooby is looking at the guinea pig versions of the gang?
Mystery Incorporated
Scooby Doo is not a stoner. He's a dog. Dogs are always hungry. And there has been characters throughout the franchise that were shocked when they heard Scooby talk.
That is a reason I love the scooby movies that address the fact that every monster they meet is a man in a mask, like zombie island and the live action movies, where they assume it's fake, but then are flabbergasted when it isnt
I loved the OG Scooby doo series , I tried but I can’t watch the newer episodes
Same, it's about getting older
Me either! I stopped watching when they added Scrappy Doo. Stupid smart a**, big head puppy...
I mean, What's New and Mystery Incorporated were pretty solid shows. I'd definitely give What's New a shot, with it having a very wide variety of episodes.
@@pg1171 I hated Scrappy. He was just an annoying waste of space that was unnecessary. The show was doing decent at the time.

I think Shaggy was a cartoon version of Dobie Gillis.
Actually the only person to ever bring up Scooby talking is none other than Johnny Bravo himself into the crossover episode.
I fancy Daphne, she's hot and gorgeous.
Yeah. She really is. No wonder Fred always pairs up with her when they're searching.:)

In all my years I’ve never noticed anything “off”. It’s a silly late 60s show for children, there isn’t supposed to be a deeper meaning.
“Fails miserably”....you do realize that if this was true the character of Scooby Doo would be forgotten today right?
"Nobody liked scrabby"
Baby me: my name is now nobody
They also stuck a laugh track on The Flintstones, which back in the day was considered an adult cartoon.
Daphne is the most wealthy person of the group like her bedroom is bigger than my WHOLE house 😭😭
And Daphne's father bought the Mystery Machine if I'm not mistaken
Assuming looper has watched or read every version of Scooby Doo and it's all cannon. 1. Daphne comes from a very wealthy family and for the most part have supported her and given money to the group. That is also where they recived the van from. 2. Fred's dad was a former mystery solver/bit of a crook.
2:00-2:50
A laugh track is OK in a kid's show. Laugh tracks are in most modern Disney & Nickelodeon shows
3:20 Shaggy's original voice actor, the late Casey Kasem, insisted that Shaggy is a vegetarian, and even refused to voice him for a Subway commercial advertising meat products because of it.
They have met 2 versions of Batman
6:09 what the hell is that , that is not 1970 that is the Austrian painter he also only lasted at 1945 (don't mind what I said)
I love this now. “And I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling draft dodgers!”
Velma & Daphne are two of my first cartoon crushes. 😍
Betty Boop would be My Number One Crush .
Daphne Blake would be a Close Second.

All this over-analyzing stuff that everyone else just chalked up to "It's a cartoon", and you don't comment on them DRIVING to Europe?
They're scared if the monster because supernatural or not it's still trying to hurt them
The show was made in the 60s with a 70s style to it, yes.
I loved Scrappy. He was done dirty in the movie. He was just a pup who thought he was a big dog.
I highly doubt that my mother ever noticed or thought about any of this
This is so funny. I am glad I watched it when i was a child, when life was simpler or when I didn't worry about adult things.
It's true, when I was a kid, I never even noticed the talking dog. I'm glad that I can see it in my current adultivity
Jeez. Does anyone have a sense if humor any more.
Teatro Grottesco that comment triggered me.
The Gang has not always dealt with greedy landowners. As early as The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show. We start adding in actual supernatural beings to ever few episodes. This fallows the return of Daphne. And precedes The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.
Exactly what I was thinking! It isn't just "greedy landowners". I'm not even sure if this person ever watched Scooby-Doo -_-

This should be called: "Things people with way too much time on their hands notice in Scooby-Doo"
Jesus Christ. I didn’t believe I could get more mad today

I had no idea this shows been around since the 70's!
1969 😁😁😁
Only the originals were good. All the rest are just bad.
I thought the Mystery Incorporated reboot was rather good. Having a series focused on story driven plots and character development was interesting imo.
What's New Scooby Doo was the best one.
WPeaceBoy what? Vegan Shaggy with no Adam’s Apple??
Love Scooby doo still!
i used to think of it as a kid, boy. I didn't come for this.
Good luck trying to apply rational explanations to a TV animated series.
Shaggy vegan ?!! Ruined my childhood
@@scottcrawford3745 Veganism/vegetarianism is dangerous for kids, period

yes! I, as an adult now, looking back at scooby doo, am concerned with scrappy's violent tendencies
I always saw it as there are more animals that could talk so it's normal for them to meet a talking dog. And they solve mysteries so that's why they're always traveling and Daphne is rich so that's how they have gas to travel every day. Also it's a cartoon
