If you are thinking about buying a damper but are not sure, @3:22 is a great selling point. I also smoke, and I also like the fact that I can wave at someone who waves at me, or I can put out my arm at 20+ mph to signal to others that I want to make a turn. It's not just about avoid the speed wobble, I and others have crashed going slow trying to do things with one hand, not paying attention and the steering is just too nimble for even that at slow speeds.
I just lnstalled a damper on my d4 3.0 i,m impressed with how it keeps the front wheel inplace i giggled when i saw you take both hands off the handle bars and eat pipcorn i don,t plan on doing that but i do want to take one hand off and use hand signals i haven't tested it yet as the weather is bad snows onece a week plus i,m healing from hernia surgery i can,t wait to try it out
Thank you for such a full explanation of this device and the examples you showed. I know now that I certainly NEED one. Priceless information for safety!
Never experienced a speed wobble on my Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro; but I never had the confidence to take one hand off the steering wheel; once, I put on a steering damper, the ride improved 100% at high speed; now I can confidently ride with one hand below 25-mph and the steering now feels tight; cruising up to 60-mph and stopping; steering is smooth as butter. I highly recommend a steering damper for any scooter that rides over 20-mph.
My nanrobot d4 3.0 has a very bad speed wobble and i almost fell off of it a couple of times, i can't find a steering damper for it. Is there any chance if i can get some help on finding a steering damper for my nanrobot d4 3.0?
I have the d6+ and I have got no speed wobble. When I 1st got my d6+ I noticed the steering was much more sensitive then my d4+ 2.0. After a little while I got used to it. Recently I just installed my old 720mm mtb handlebars and that made my d6 so much more stable, comfortable, sporty n better looking. If your not sure about the damepner the try wider handlebars.
When you mention that for the D6+ setting it at 7 is perfect, did you adjust the +/- dampening knob at all? If possible, would you be able to explain how many turns clockwise you have the dampening knob turned? Without ever using a dampened, I'm not really sure how it should feel to be correct. Also, make sure the headlight is tightened at its highest possible point or else the headlight brace will hit the dampener tube when turning the handlebars left.
You tighten as you see fit. Once you feel you can ride with one hand, it should be about right and tight. I too have the problem with the light. To be honest, this is the worst light cage and placing ever. I gave the +/ about 12 turns maybe more :D
Good afternoon, and thanks for the detailed video. I have an D4+ 3.0. I want to know if I could drill the base plate and what size the thread making tool for this Steering Damper Kit should I use since the base plate does not have it pre drilled. Thanks!
Good afternoon and thanks for replying so soon. My Nanrobot D4+ 3.0 does not have a hollow damper underneath to put the adapter of the Steering Damper since it has 3 screws that hold the tube base to the damper and there is no long screw underneath. Let me know if I explain correctly. Thanks!
Yes. My issue is with the adapter of the front light that is not completely available since the isosceles triangle that covers it, does not let fit the adapter around our 50mm base.
Buy one i had an accident with my Kukirin g4 is my fasters scooter i have i went in the road without equipment full speed 45 miles it was great till all of the sudden started to have a speed wabble i tried to stop but i fell so hard now im two weeks recovering protect yourself
Hey I just got a damper for my D6+ 2.0 ! do they really work at high speeds and how do you figure out how tight to set the steering damper on it with the settings ?
I have a question, I have a LS7+ 72 and the damper that comes with it has a little twist nob how do you know how tight it should be I mean I have mine set pretty tight to where it takse force to turn the wheel. Should I set it that high what is the normal. Thank your for your amazing videos still waiting on thats LS7+ 72 Range test! ;D
anyone have a good recommendation for oil replacement for an e-scooter damper? I had my back cap wiggle out and it dumped all the oil so im trying to find a good replacement.
I own a HOSYSA 6000W Dual drive e-scooter. I've looked for a damper for ot,bit found nothing available listed for it!? But I have taken notice that the REDDYDY 6000W DUAL DRIVE & YUME Y11 6000W DUAL DRIVE Seems to be pretty much be the same e-scooter . If this is so,snd you know, Could you please let me know! Also, could you tell me what kind of kit I would need to install a damper? I have the damper, but I am having difficulty figuring out what kit to get? This is why I noticed the other 2 scooters that seems to be the same! Thank you for your help, and I enjoy your videos! They are extremely informative! John
Really good and informative video. Places like NYC and suburban area usually have rough roads so it can help with maintaining control even at lower speeds (maybe 30s+). Any idea which dampener is high quality and compatible with the Apollo Phantom v2?
1 am trying to install the steering dampener but when I'm at the step where I put a part underneath the headlamp it told tells me to use to original screw on the scooter but it is too short with the dampener part I tried all the screws and they're all too tight this is getting increasingly frustrating
Today I was showing off my new scooter to a buddy. As I drove away I waved to say goodbye and completely lost control in a fraction of a second and went tumbling to the concrete. Luckily I was only going about 10 mph and only got a scratch on my leg. But damn, I did not realize how easy it is to lose control.
My Nonrobot DS6+ does not have the 2 hex screws on top for the bracket. I have seen people mention the screws are underneath. I can not figure out how to mount the bracket with no holes on top.
I bought the kugoo g booster 3 days ago and im still horrifed of it it has alot of torque and it gets unstable at speed even when taking off it spins its wheels and you can lose control easily if youre not careful steering damper is a MUST trust me and a helmet
