Yesssss! I’ve done this months ago when I got my Vsett10+ to fix the vibrations. Wished more people new about this. I previously worked on cars before so this makes perfect sense. Well done for this tutorial! Thanks!
I just balanced both the front and rear wheels on my Apollo Phantom V2-V3 and it made a world of difference... and... although I was skeptical when you stated that I might gain speed, I did... an entire 1 mph... LOL. But it was an increase. I actually disconnected one motor at a time and balanced each wheel separately. It did not run as smooth on the stand as the Nami in the video, but on the road... Wow! Thank you.
@@MaxHarden Not full speed. There will be a speed at which vibration will be at its worst, I think the term is the point of resonance. as you approach that speed, the vibration increases and will let off once you go past that "perfect" speed. it is that vibration you are trying to eliminate by balancing the wheels. Good luck!
I just did this with 2x5g weights opposite the valve stem and the vibration all but disappeared on my Kukirin G4 (Teewing G4) which I bought because of your recent review. THANKS PAUL!
great tip, I always balanced my RC tires so know how much difference even a very basic balancing can make (more comfort due to less vibrations, less stress on the motor, more power being put down) even balanced my standing room fan recently that was shaking a lot due to the plastic blade part not being balanced or centerd....after some very basic balancing on a rc prop balancer with some putty it no longer shakes
I cannot thank you enough🙏, fixed my fluid vista instantly! Was worried I broke it 😂. I need to do it to the front tire but there's no motor in the front so it'll take a bit more time to trial and error it. Now I can go over 23 mph without vibrating!
Non driven wheels are easier! Put it in the air with the brakes loose or removed. See if the heavy part will find the bottom on its own. If it will you’re in luck. Mark the top, that’s the light part. ADd a weight where the mark is, then turn the mark until it’s sideways (3 o’clock). See if the mark moves up (needs more weight) or down (needs less weight). This is static balancing and is how the tires on my motorcycle were balanced for racing! -Paul
Thanks for the great videos! My 2 week old Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Plus 2024 front tire is making the e-scooters handlebar vibrate from it being out of balance, so I'm gonna order those weights and do what you said and do in the video!
This removed the awful oscillation in my mantis 8 and added 5mph to the top speed. Back hub is sincerely perfect, but I could only get the front “darn good” with minimal vibration. Not pretty but it works and I’m proud of that! Hope I have luck with my other Mantis 8. TBH better made tires would fix it. I’m convinced it’s just inconsistent manufacturing in tires causing this.
I used to balance the props on my drone propellers and don't know why I never thought to do this on my scooter. Although my nanrobot d6 is very smooth I'm sure it's out of balance. Thank you for this video 👍
Top video. I’ve just bought a brand new scooter and my rear wheel has some serious vibration. The front is top notch. I’ve checked it over and there are a few issues. Nothing I didn’t expect really. There’s a yellow label one the stem. It says warning! Then lots of writing then most important made in China. 😂
Interesting. I’ve seen them inside of the tires on Harley rental bikes, but have never tried them myself to see the before and after. That’s a great idea for a video. I love the comments section! -Paul
Awesome video Paul, thanks ESG! My Phantom V2 has serious wobbles above 60km/hr. I have re-seated the tyres and I've had it back to the local supplier here in Australia for warranty repairs, all to no avail. I have ordered the weights 💪 can't wait to give it a go!
@RupakShakur yes. Not perfect yet but eliminated wobbles in rear wheel, front wheel is improved, likely the tire is not perfectly round. I'm not going to change it until I get a puncture as I am OK with how it rides. Definitely worth the effort.
Thx Paul you saved much headache. Sadly most of these China tires are out of round to begin with, I've tried resetting the bead with soapy water many times on several scooters, it only helps slightly... they are just poorly manufactured with marginal QA. So BEFORE you purchase a sled capable of 75km/hr ask for a 'wheel balance' !! They know it's a huge pita, and won't do it unless you ask... as part of your purchase agreement.
My Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Plus front wheel is making the handlebars shake from being out of alignment. I seen a pack of half ounce weights do you think they're too big if they can't be broken in half? Thanks for any help I really would appreciate it
Hey Pual thank you for your amazing experience and knowledge that you share with us mere earthlinks down here. lol You mention reseating the beads, my scooters front tire is out of balnce because I had got a flat and had to take off everything. So I retook of the tire and I am trying to reseat eveything again. I don't think I have that prominent line that goes around the tire on my wheel per se, there is one but I am unsure if thats it. The one that I do have goes halfway around the tire but the line stops and goes into a name. I was wondering if you ever made the other video talking about this specific setup so I can make sure I a not missing any steps that could help me. Thanks In Advance.
this is so important...i had big trouble with the original 10'' kugoo wheels, but i installed 11'' CST and it is like a better scooter...i need to do this to my rear wheel because i am sure the line is perfect..when i change these awful tires (rims) i look for it to fit good, but the balancing is needed...i think my rim is not perfect because i bought this scooter second hand, but i will see if this balancing will make it OK...thanks for the video
@rezzy851 Which kugoo scooter do you have? Could u please send a link to both tires and inner tubes? These 10”s from kugoo are so terrible im tired of trying to get them sat properly.
Great video thnx, but just wondering, is it not better to start all over on the other side? Like car tyres, when balancing, it almost always gives 2 different spot on each side of the tyre?
First try this tip, deflate completely your tire, spin the wheel a bit by hand put only 10 psi and engage the motors while scooter on a bench, works best with dual motors make the tire spin. Then inflate to the correct tire pressure. Often it's the inner tube that cause imbalance so by doing this you will evenly set the inner tube. You may also add balancing beads inside your inner tubes.
This stuff helps. One of the problem with steel weighs vs the old lead ones is you can’t bend them to match the curve of the rim. So to help the adhesive stay attached, it helps to use a thicker layer of adhesive than what comes on the weights. I sometimes use this stuff (first link below). GoPro style adhesive is even thicker. (Second link) it’s nice to have something over the top of it too. I tend to use color-matched duct tape or gaffer tape, you don’t need to use a huge amount. I suppose you could use silicone (RTV) too. -Paul 1 Inch Width 33 Ft Length 3M VHB... www.amazon.com/dp/B09BB1HYX7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share SUNMENCO 48pcs Red 3M VHB... www.amazon.com/dp/B0771HQ88G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've got the Emove Roadster with the same tire tread. The scooter will shake/vibrate while accelerating and decelerating around 38mph-50mph. I'll give these weights a shot. Should weights always be applied in all four directions on a wheel? Or does it depend.
You’ll end up with the weights in only one spot. But it’s good to try all four directions one at a time to see where the shaking is best and where it is worst. Then refine from there. It can make a big difference. Be careful. Wear glasses and stand next to (not in front of or behind) the scooter while testing, in case a weight flys off.
Hey Paul can you do video how to fix a out of round tires ? thank you. I tired inflating and deflating with maximum speed on my e scooter and i didn't fix myself ;(
Been trying to balance my Blade for weeks now and can't for the life of me get any of the weights to actually STAY stuck. The adhesives just don't seem to be enough, as soon as I'm over 35-40mph they go flying off
I run the tire off the ground till it wobbles good . Then at the speed take a yellow marker paint pen and find the spot . Put weights on the opposite side.
That’s an awesome tip! I’ll try it! I love the comments section! Is there any delay? Like does it work best if the weight leads the mark by a little bit or does it tend to work best dead on? -Paul

Awesome! Just don't get hit by flying weights! Best to stand next to the scooter when checking balance points! I should have said that in the video. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. If you can, start in single motor mode. Makes it easier to figure out which end is shaking. Once that end is tuned up, it won't shake the other end. -Paul

I have a obarter x5 wheels are out of balance, how do you know where to put the weights?
I have a Vsett 10 and my back tire has a wobble and I massaged tire many times. How many grams did you use?

yes that is correct approach, always balance in single motor first, after that motor is balanced than you move to balancing in the dual motor mode
I am going to try this on my GT2. Do I need to spin the wheel at full speed? Sound dangerous.

offroad tires handle kinda bad, loved em till i tried semi offroad & road tires, i'll never use offroads again
Did this today to my Kaabo Mantis 10 V2 Dual Motor. Reduced vibration a good bit. Used duct tape to secure extra. Feels a lot smoother and linear.

Duct tape: in drag racing we call it “200 mph tape” lol I’ve seen fiberglass bodies on f/c held together with this stuff
That’s reassuring for safety sake. Spinning a wheel at 45mph in my garage with lead stickers attached to them sounds get-back-kids.
