TS is the best!! Praying I get to work with him in the near future!! A true feel golf coach right there
Yes!!
Eric, I think you and Trevor are a great team. I feel like Trevor was talking to me directly with what he used to do in the range when just hitting golf balls, watching videos, adding new thoughts and confusing himself. That’s exactly what I do and I’ve lost my swing so many times because I keep going back to the same thing. Thank you guys. Going to rewatch this.
100%! Thank you---hope it serves you well!
Thank you so much! I love the explicit instruction with easy to follow sequences. I look forward to practicing this.
Our pleasure! Hope it serves you well!
This is the video I need to fix my swing. I've seen the previous video with Eric and Trevor covering this subject. The two hardest things for me to do is execute a "tension-free" swing, and to "watch the golf ball disappear" (keep my head down) before moving my head. I think I'm going to watch this video multiple times until I can execute a tension-free swing like Trevor does here. I really believe this is the answer. Thanks Eric and Trevor for continuing to bring great content to help us old duffers get around the course a bit better.
Appreciate the kind words and support---hopefully this and the next set of videos serve you well!
11:11 to 12:25 is gold and to me is the "tough love" I needed to hear. Can't wait to try this out
:) Hope it helps, Matt!
This is a great video coupled with your next video describing the gravity component of the club acceleration. You have a minimum energy in the swing which is set via the height of the club at the top of the backswing. Presuming you don't oppose the potential energy in your downswing the 10% swing is actually 10% + the potential energy that is successfully retained in the club and is transferred to the ball. I think that is why it feels amazing to swing the club so effortlessly and still see the ball travel a substantial % of your full swing. Just directing the potential energy of the club efficiently comprises a substantial amount of the energy used to move the ball.
Good stuff Luke---I like the thoughts and appreciate the support
Sadly, given the endless videos on this subject, THIS ONE will be glossed over by many! THIS ONE, is the Stairway to Heaven of golf lessons. The “re-wiring” concept is key and “slowing down” the path to get there!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed this one!
Love the way Trevor uses mph to accurately describe the arms-to-body speed ratio (6 -> 1). What helps me is to think of transition from P3 (lead arm parallel in the backswing) to P5 (lead arm parallel in the downswing). I call P3 -> P5 the “Chill Zone” or the “No Speed Zone.” Correlates perfectly with Trevor’s key teaching points in this video. Thanks, Eric, for collaborating with Trevor and creating this video! 👊👊
Love those thoughts! Appreciate ya!

Trevor is Da MAN!!!
I started following him and his focus on tension free is really a game changer, for me. I'm finding the center way more than I ever did and with better impact position far more distance.
Love to hear that! He's one of the best---more to come in next few videos!
I just took a club outside of my office and did this without a ball...and honestly, it's amazing how slowing down like that makes you "feel" your swing as you say. I've been swaying too much and coming over the top on my downswing and this is the first time I could feel and immediately correct those mistakes during the swing itself. 10/10 video.
100% agreed! Thank you!!
Me too
Nice video , you and Trevor work awesome together! Appreciate this lesson! (i'm from Brazil)
Thanks! He's the best! Hope this one helps👊
Fantastic Lesson, Thanks Guys :)
Appreciate it Chris!
I went off and played 9 holes to try this. I have never felt so relaxed. I was hitting my 3 wood off the deck further than before. Making much better contact with my irons. Thx guys.
Love to hear that!!
Love these videos with you and Trevor. This video is exactly what I’m working on so it’s just helping me build on what I’m doing.
Thanks Jeff! More to come with Trevor :)
Top notch production with these clips Eric
Thanks Todd!
Dear Eric and Trevor,
I've been waiting for this video for a long time. It's a very, very important piece of the puzzle in my golf swing, if not the most important. Already tried it in the garden - a great feeling - and will work on it for the next time. Thank you so much and please keep it up. You both are great!
Thank you! Always good fun working with Trevor---more to come!
eric, this young guy is great, thnx to the both of you.
Thanks, Steve! Agreed---he's great to work with. This is our 3 time working with him already this year---which is unheard of for us.....shows ya how much we like Trevor :)
Good morning Eric. Everything I've done in my life is at warp speed and at 88 that hasn't changed so a session like this helps me to refocus. Whether I can or will do it remains to be seen. As always thanks for the help. Be good-Russ
Love that Russ! I have faith in ya :) Appreciate the support!
1.1 jigawatts
This is exactly what gives Freddie's swing that effortless, lazy appearance and all that speed in the hitting zone!
Excellent content as always, Eric. Cheers 🙌
Appreciate ya man!
Wow.. Two Things.. finally started to feel my r. glutes at the top of the backswing by slowing down and pausing; 2. I was told I was an "arm swinger" in a past century😂 which I thought was bad... but your explanation of slowing down the arms makes sense now. TY!
:) Thanks Kevin! Hope it continues to help!
One of the best golf lesson channels on youtube! 👍👍👍
Thank you for the support!
Wow! This is awesome. I can feel the wrists get into proper position at the top with 10% speed and with very loose wrists and arms I can shallow the club without any thought. I get the shallowing and wrist angles for free. I can only feel that once and a great while on the range hitting at speed. I’m going to do this from now on. Thanks Eric and Trevor.
Glad this one helped my friend! Our pleasure!
One of the best explanations I’ve ever received. I use my arms/shoulders from the top because I’m strong in that department. I know I rush the down swing but this gives me something to stop it. Cheers, I’ll be trying/doing this at the range
Thanks Nigel! Hope your practice goes great!
I'm also a terrible musician / guitar player. It's sorta like learning a new riff or lick. . . . slow it down so you can count it! Love it!
Exactly! Love that!
Great tips and awareness Eric, and Trevor is such an inspiration, thank you to both of you, this becomes now my centerline, slowing down for higher speed, 1000 thank you guys!
Thank you, Willy! Appreciate you being here with us!
I have been struggling to slow my arms down...THANK YOU SO MUCH TREVOR and ERIC!!!!
Hope this helps ya Philip!!
Speaking to my golfing soul!

Lehigh Valley Champ in the background swinging.

That’s my coach! TS is the absolute man. I thought this was a repeat because it re used the same thumbnail.
He's great! Yep....we figured no need to change it if it works :)
@@CogornoGolf but the channel re uses content. I’ve watched that original video 5 times. If you dont make a new thumb nail it looks like a repeat
Understood--thanks for the feedback!
Outstanding training tip. Tried throughout the day and it feels just great.
Thanks Robert! Glad to hear it!!
I'm a golf nerd practice techniques that I haven't heard before are awesome and going to the range now to try it thank you
Hope this helps ya!!!
This is great! Will definitely try that next time on the range
Thanks! Hope it helps!
Great tempo training. Love the knowledge. Is there a way to speed the process up? When someone says they have been working on this for 3 years, that is a long time. Thanks!
Hey Rod! Good things take time...
Love this. The challenge is not going to the range and doing this for 5 minutes and then seeing how far you can hit it for the rest of the session.
👊
Hope this one serves you well, David!
Amazing. Thanks for
Thank you!
Interesting concept. Something to try. Could be a nice little warmup exercise.
Hope it helps!
We love Trevor!
Us too!! More to come!
💯 I’m rebuilding my swing as well. When I was young I played so much better … state champion and then progressively changed my body my swing thoughts etc
I have faith in ya Jason :) If you dont get it sorted send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can fix issues
Legendary instructor Harvey Penick was an advocate of super slow motion swings.
And Moe Norman
Love it
You and Trevor work great together! He clearly float loads in his swing, as you can see Jon Rahm do it at 16:40. You are a proponent in drills, but not so much in your normal swing?
Thanks! Agrees he's awesome----yes he does more so than me.
Humming, keeping the same pitch doing this can help people. Often breathing stops indicating tension and/or quickness.
This is the holy grail of practice.
I believe B. Hogan did it every day. There's a video of him doing it hyper slow, like 2 percent, that is worth viewing.
👊Love it!
Hope this one serves you well!
I agree . But many are stuck in the slow motion mode. And speed is such a valuable asset
Def people on both ends of the spectrum!
Eric, I see from gears analysis that max grip speed occurs very early in the downswing in pro and better golfers. How do you incorporate this fact into the swing ? Especially when trying to slow the arms in transition. Thanks, Richard
Hey Richard!
Exactly! Thats the point!!
If they are going the fastest right away then you start down......
And they ARE going to travel much faster than the body....
And we want the body to have time to open....
doesn't it make sense then to FEEEL.....FEEEL.....like you slow them down to give the body a chance to win the race?
Like Trevor said in video we will NEVER actually get the arms slowed to body's speed. Arms 30 mph and body 5.
We are just trying to give the body a chance!
Swinging at a really slow speed while trying to make swing changes is brilliant! If you're trying to change your swing while swinging full speed, you're fighting an uphill battle against all the neuron connections that have been developed over countless reps with your existing swing habits.
100%
Smart!!
👊Hope this one helps, Ian!
goat instructors
:) Thank you!
Amazing. Wow
:)
Ok. I have always "known" that changes are best made at slow speed but i needed to hear it from an expert. Thanks. BUT, what do i do at that slow speed? The squat and rotate of the lead hip Trevor was showing us?
Hey! This should answer the WHAT to do:

ruclips.net/video/NIbmk5fU1Hs/видео.html
Will this 10% speed drill work with driver?
Yes
If you can hit high, straight but short pitch-shots with a long iron or a wood or even a putter - you found your swing.
I like that
My biggest problem that I have had over 30 years of playing is slowing down. I'll give this a try...
Alignment sticks, some plastic balls & few practice swings slowing down.
Better late than never ! :)
Dude looks like he walked off the set of Caddyshack to give a lesson...Great video by the way.
Thanks for watching :)
How can I get stopping hidden the golf ball like an hammer-strike?
Per
Need to see you swing to see what's causing the issues first....send swings to www.cogornogolf.com and we will fix
@@CogornoGolf Hello Eric
One of my golfboddies helped me to see my problems, so he gave me a’ drill. I have swing with a little less swing speed. So I will try it out and wait to see how it will end. If it’s not working, I will sen you a video of my swing. Thanks for willing to help - maybe an other time.
Have a nice day 😊
Sounds good! My pleasure
Love the video, but I’m a bit confused…GEARS video capture has proven that tour pros hand speed starts EARLY in the downswing, and almost all of them have achieved maximum hand speed by waist high. Am I missing something?
Hey Paul!
Great question! Here's my response to that to similar comments below
"Exactly! Thats the point!!

😃👍👍
:)
I thought that the analysis of pga tour players showed that their hands are at their fastest at the beginning of the downswing...
Exactly!
So 2 things:
1. If they are traveling the fastest at the start of the swing.....and you want to get the hips open.....wouldnt it serve to FEEL like you slow them down some?
Since they are automatically going to go fast there you just want them to go ....."LESS FAST" lol
As we mentioned in video arms/hands 30mph and body 5.....so we are just trying to give the body a chance.....no matter what we do arms will go fast.....we are just FEELING like we are delaying that a bit.
2. FEELS vs REALS....and what CAUSES the hand speed. When you FEEL no arms/hands and just body the arms are STILL moving ....a lot!
I guess I took the hand speed data and consciously try to increase the hand speed straight down from the top. I’ve seen major champ tips swinging back with ball in right hand holding wrist with lead hand and trying to throw the ball down in front of trail leg as hard as possible. So I’m confused
@@Rickstoner-q3pread those responses above. There's golf gold in them. The point is whether you do slow-mo swing or reg swing the speed of the hands will automatically be the highest from top on way down to hip height. This is due to gravity. The slo-mo drill helps to sync this motion up with the hips, all while reinforcing proper ratio of swing speed at top vs bottom. As you speed up drill, ratio is maintained (still fastest at top).
I slowed my speed down to 1 mph and the ball went a 1000 yards!
Cheat code! :)
You make great videos with amazing content. One thing I'm noticing lately is a lot of videos repeat the same exact footage multiple times during the video. That's not really necessary.
Appreciate the feedback! Often a fine line I think between repeating that is GOOD (for learning purposes) and repeating that is too much. Will keep an eye on it!
Off topic but Trevor looks like the twin of a guy that trains dogs in Germany...I think he's goes by Big Daddy
He's one of the best :)
9 iron 155 yards my ass lol. bro dont be that guy, dont be a LAD.
Thats how far I hit it :) I've got several college kids hit their 9 iron 165-170!
Arnie Els
:)
By slowing dwn , u mean stop using your arms
Slowing them down for sure for this one yep
@@CogornoGolf hey Eric I recently discovered why I’ve been struggling badly with the game.. mainly because I’ve been lining up and trying to crush the ball using my arms.. I believe this is the single most reason amateurs don’t move forward and ultimately give up! (It’s very difficult for golfers to wrap their head around) thanks for your reply btw
This guy trevor needs to takes the glasses off something, cant take him seriously for some reason.
Before you advertise a creatine type product, you need to make people aware of the dangers of this type of product if someone has kidney problems. Just shows how much some people will advertise anything for money. I won't be watching this channel any more!
Thanks for the feedback! Totally understood thanks for the support up until now--all the best!
