    Hello Eric,
I watched this video a couple of times last evening. I went to the golf course today I did my best to implement keeping my Arms Straight as you recommended. It worked wonderfully and I shot my lowest score ever. In fact, I beat my previous lowest score by 3 shots.

Great training and practice drills. I struggle with making consistent solid contact with my irons! I hit them fat, thin, over the top, and to the right. After watching this video I realize I have poor rotation which causes me to really sling my arms towards the ball. Basically, my arms get ahead of my body... After watching this video my ball improved on the range and course using the pizza box method. However, I still hit a few bad shots but at least now I have a trusted method/system to build from instead of making swing changes every time I play. I was wondering how many others struggle with poor rotation and have the same problem. Now I am aware that the momentum from my arm swing actually rotates my body after my arms, subsequently making my finish/follow-through appear to be correct. The bad thing about this action is that I have been doing it for so long, it feels comfortable and normal. Bad habits are hard to break, keep practicing the good ones! Thanks for posting!

Thanks Eric! I need to do about a million of these arm straight drills... i have a really bad chicken wing issue and i need to just spend more time doing this... i find the longer the club the worse the chicken wing gets, its like i can't control the length of the club. When i have done this drill in the past i'm great from waist height but when i try to add speed or a longer swing it gets out of sync again. It's a great drill though and its a great reminder that i don't do this enough. It has to embed in if i keep doing it. 👍

Eric, another terrific video. At the 10:35 mark in the video after doing the drill you make the comment that "I can easily add a follow through." A bit later you say keep turning and the arms fold. Could you please expand on that? Once the arms are waist high on the follow through, what is the move or felling to make a full finish and not flip the club? Thanks

    • @CogornoGolf

Once you get your arms fully extended out towards the target, you can then just allow your arms and club to fold/wrap up over your lead shoulder into the finish position👍

As you said in the video Eric, my punch shots are by far my most clean crisp strikes out the middle of the face compared to full shots, what is this mainly down to?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  2 года назад +1

      Hey Keiran!
That comes mainly down to how you use your wrists through the ball.
When you keep the arms/elbows the same distance and close together throughout the entire swing...that's going to help facilitate having good wrist angles, which leads to getting the hands more forward (which will have the shaft leaning forward at impact) + make the low point more forward. This all leads to getting more compression on the golf ball.

Haha I hear ya...of course you always have the choice of what you want to do :)
As an exercise I would consider modeling success.
Look at all the pros at a few feet past impact/follow through and see what you notice.
Do the same for those who shoot in the 80s, 90s, 100s, etc
What you will notice is as the golfer gets WORSE......they have two things in common
      1. Arms more bent
      2. Less Rotation
The better the golfer you will notice
      1. Arms more straight
      2. More rotation
      Hope that helps guide you!

Constructive criticism… I like the lesson here (good drill, good filming, good audio, etc.), but I kinda feel like it could have been delivered in a video that was less than three or four minutes long. There’s so much unnecessary verbiage in your videos. I really think your videos provide good information and insight to the golf swing. I do think they need to be scripted just a little better, and condensed down into a video that’s more concise.
