I finally started using time code with the rode wireless pro and I’m so stoked. I’m gonna be filming more weddings soon and this will most likely be one of my next investments 💯
@@cyrusperry6482 It’s complicated. In short, I highly recommend using an open source system like tentacle, deity, or atomos. But, super excited you’re using it 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I have the same device. I love it. It worked great with my 2 C70's. For some reason the same rundown doesn't work on my C400. I'll try again. It's the same menu?? One less heavy awkward size thing to bring... great info here bud.
I have the ultra sync blue since I have 3 Z9's, a Z6ii with Atomos Ninja and Zoom H6 with bluetooth so it works fairly well with my set up. but this is great tutorial! only downside is sometimes id try to sync over a long distance from camera set ups that are already in place and it doesn't sync due to the distance of the bluetooth. I believe you can only sync over bluetooth up to 30ft with no interference from the master device. Messed me up one day on a corporate conference running 4 cameras and H6 trying to sync them up last min.
@@b3lievenhopephotography578 that’s exactly why I don’t do Bluetooth timecode for any device. Either hard wired or the device has an accurate timecode clock.
Thank you for this!! I just switched from the Tentacle track e to Deity PR2 and I love it so far, can't wait to invest into a bunch of TC1's to complete the set. Question, how do you deal with cameras shooting in different FPS? For example if I have two cameras shooting 24fps, one shooting 30fps, and one shooting 60fps. Will those be even syncable? Do you just need to set the TC1 to whatever FPS the device is recording at?
@@Dano-Media nah that’s a disaster bro. You should assign specific shots to different frame rates rather than entire shoots. For example, every cam is in 24fps unless you as director tell them “hey film this part in 60”. Most weddings I film, I’m always the one doing slow motion or mixed frame rates. I keep my team in 24
@@JustinPorterMedia Ah damn, you're right but most of my shoots are one-man-band, I'm usually flipping back and forth on frame rates as I see fit. So if I wanna sync my mixed frame rates cam to my B & C cams that are 24fps, my only route is to sync using audio?
@@Dano-Media If you're going to use high frame rates and want to sync, I would settle for filming everything in 30 or 60. If you film in 30 and set your timecode to 30, it will sync to footage filmed in 60. Hope that makes sense haha. Message me on IG and I can send a voice message.
Hey Justin, at the moment I am still using the Sony A6400 and my frame rate is set to 30 however when I import it to DaVinci it converts to 29.97. Should I set my Deity TC1 to 29.97? I have been setting it to 30...as always thank you for all you do!!!
Yes. Set the TC-1 to 29.97. Make sure ahead of time in the future. Most mirrorless cameras like the A6400 all record in 23.976(23.98 because some round up) or 29.97. Only cinema cameras for the most part have a true 24 and 30.
I have 3 s5 iix and I only record 6k open gate at 29.97 and set that to match on the TC-1. If lumix releases a camera that shoots 6k open gate at 59.9 in the future, do I just leave it at 29.97? Do I just have to make sure the time code generator is a multiple like 29.97, 59.94, 119.88, 239.76?
@@JustinPorterMediaTested z8-z9 and Airglu 100 times back and forward, never had a problem and could not break it. Have the latest generation ultra synch and Nikon firmware. Also Tascam Av2 is unbreakable.
