This makes so much sense. Getting the SUPER early stuff. I feel like with my 6, 8 and sometimes even my 10 hour packages I’m rushed too much to get good interview and setups. This has changed my perspective quite a bit on what I offer personally. Thanks for taking me through your day man.
@@bleach_meds599 I’d say ditch the 6 and 8 hour packages altogether. It’s a full day regardless and it allows you to make a better product with more relaxed time :)

Yo! Gem. Question - i think you mentioned at one point you continue to run audio to do a j-cut, but for the bridal shower moments, if the talents are mic'd up, are you relying on internet recording on them for audio + the tascam switch from camera to boom mic? At 14:40, you have Nikon + Rx, so I'm just curious how you make sure you don't miss audio!
@@lilsouschef yes. I can use the internal recording to cut audio. Even if the moment happens way later. You can hide it with the edit.
At 14:40 I was on a missing specifically to get b roll. Hugs, smiles, etc. I had 3 people micd but I wasn’t hunting dialogue. This is why I said “what can be staged, get it later, what can’t be shoot it now.

@@KennethGreenCMP I’m not entirely sure if the bts was in log haha. I think it was. I didn’t grade it. I don’t typically spend as much time finessing bts.

So... why do you mix anamorphic and spherical? how do you go about mixing them in the edit?
I edit in a 2:4:1 ratio. I love the look of the anamorphics for my interveiws. It's super freaking clean
Bro instead of diffusing at 17.26 i woulda backlit your talent and bounced light back onto your talent, that way you can still use your 5in1 to help create gradation on your talents face. plus it helps to separate your talent from the background

@@ICryWhenICum001 not at all because most of the time I’m filming things that the photographer isn’t worried about. Like while they take portraits of the family’s I’m doing interviews during cocktail hour.

@@quinlanpayne3445 which part? The only one that’s on camera is the interview clip of the bridesmaid at the beginning. I had the mic mounted in camera. The rest was either lav or overhead boom
