This movie is such a tragic tale. The protag only gets in this mess because she chose to stay instead of going home. Because she still feels so much guilt over her mother that she overworks herself and buries her trauma. And of course then she keeps pushing everyone away, not letting anyone in, not sharing the info she has on the demon thing, and only at the very end is she ready to take that first step to heal, but it's already too late. A very sad and tragic ending.
Yeah except there’s probably a better way to execute that. I don’t hate the ending, and I think I have a lot of admiration for the big reveal, but I think it kinda feels more like a usual horror ending where the protagonist gets it because he/she forgets that one clue we didn’t expect. Here, she basically does the right thing at the end and let’s people in, and gets it for that. If the whole point was that getting help and letting people in is the lesson, then doesn’t having the demon win in the end like that actually undercut the ending a little bit and the main message?
@@thefirstbourne149 Because she realized it too late. Too much time had passed before she could find someone who cared enough to help her in a way that truly mattered.
My young cousin wanted to see this in theatres so I went with him because he's only 12 and needed an adult. I honestly thought it would be dumb, but I found the use of sound and jumpscares to be much better than in most horror movies. My poor cousin spent most of the movie hiding his face.
Fun Fact: the movie is an extended version of a horror short by the same person Called 'Laura hasn’t slept’ and I remembered it when you said “she hasn’t slept"
The screams in the theater to this movie made the experience so much fun! XD This movie was a LOT better than I thought it was going to be, cause I thought it was going to be laughably stupid...when it ended up being unnervingly creepy!
HER girlfriend? Or is it a typo or is it “girlfriend” in the other sense? Sorry, just curious. Even for me, it gets strangely rare to see for some reason.
Love when you guys said A-Train! simultaneously 😂 The sister's head dropping upside down next to the car was in the trailer and freaked me out enough to want to see this movie 😅🙃 At least Joel has a head's up on the creature and can ask the guy in jail what to do. He can find a couple of nasty criminals to pass it on to and take out the witness and hopefully end the chain. As a cop he would know how to hide evidence 😉 P.S. The lead actress is Kevin Bacon's daughter. He is in one of my favorite horror movies called Stir of Echoes. I hope you add it to your list 🤗
Her plan to go to their cabin in the woods to be alone to stop it us same plan as dude in fallen lol similar thing hopping from person to person. Evil changing shape going from person to person evil never dies lol. Even if she offs herself someone will still fund the body and be traumatized and it'll pass to them lol. Or it'll trick make her think she's alone to do it but turns out she's doing it in public place lol
Amazing horror movie with an amazing lead actress. Best of its genre I've seen in years, and I love how it also touches issues such as suicide, trauma, survivor's guilt etc. I just read that a sequel will come to the theaters on October 18 with Naomi Scott as the lead.

I just found your channel and you both are amazing! Really enjoy the commentary and all the questions during the films, it’s exactly what I do 😂 keep up the awesome content!
Hiii I have a recommendation, theres this movie called “Choose Or Die” it was made in 2022 and It’s extremely underrated. Its an amazing and intense scary movie and I really recommend it. :)
Its like it wears peoples faces like masks are you talking about Michael Myers sounds like it or the shape lol. You know evil changes shape right lol. Evil goes from person to person everyone can be the shape. Everyone can be the boogeyman lol. Cool beginning and title card lol. Awesome smile so many awesome smiles in this movie lol. Cool kill scenes too lol. Awesome themes too lol. Cool camera angles too lol. Some freaky stuff lol.
Sorry for the long comments just had a lot to say. The actress of Rose is Kevin Bacon's real life daughter which is interesting. I love this movie so much but I wish that they changed the ending because to me it was bad effects and annoying, but this movie had me jumping out of my skin so to speak with the jump scares it had . As specially the one when she was listening back to the audio feed on her computer and she heard her name over and over and then her mother's face shows up from the darkness that one got me and had my heart racing for a while though I really wish that horror movies would leave the poor animals alone because the scene with the dead cat was just heartbraking to me seeing how I have two of my own at home. I also really wish that the trailer left out the part with the sister's head dropping in an unnatural way because that would have been one hell of a jump scare if I didn't know it was coming and the part with the psychiatrist was creepy with that smile she does but again I knew it was coming because of the trailer which is a shame.
Bruh why the chick constantly has her eyes closed and covered before a jump scare but she tries to act like it still scared her? Lmfao your eyes were closed and covered you missed the jump scare, no need to act like you was scared. If you want to enjoy a jump scare with the person you’re watching the movie with then actually watch it, don’t act like you saw something you didn’t smh.

I love this movie. I watched in Theaters, a teen had a panic attack and had to leave with her girlfriends 25 minutes in 😢
HER girlfriend? Or is it a typo or is it “girlfriend” in the other sense? Sorry, just curious. Even for me, it gets strangely rare to see for some reason.
@@thefirstbourne149 they mean friends I’m pretty sure

@The FirstBourne why does it matter? If it's her girlfriend or "girl-friend" like it's not relevant to the statement
