I love how, when Tetsuo goes full body-horror, Magneto seems hopeless and kind of looses the will to fight; that is until he hears Tetsuo's thought "Help me". He then realizes that it is his mission to rescue this kid from the suffering of his own existance. That sparks the will to fight again, but for a much heroic, if tragic, cause. Not to survive, but to "rescue" Tetsuo.
Also look at his eyes. During most of the fight they are white, a sort of “neutral” mindset, but during most of the points where Magneto is most angry, especially the brain blast before Tetsuo begs for help, they are red, showing his rage. But when he is grabbed by Ego Death Tetsuo his eyes are human. I think this is supposed to be his, well, human side so to speak coming out and giving him a better reason to fight than him being racist.
This entire fight was great, but my favorite detail has to be the fact that Magneto’s second line is “Imputant child!” while his second to last is “Poor child…” They really nailed him.
"It hurts..help me..." "Poor child" After the fight "Thank...you..." *somberly* "You're welcome." Damn, I didn't expect to be getting feels from this Death Battle
Yeah. Im so glad they showed this side of Magneto. He isn't a heartless person, not by a long shot. He is actually quite empathetic. There is a reason why he and Xavier, despite being on opposite sides of a conflict, are still best friends afterall. And it's great to actually see this shown here.
"I'm sorry Mr. Magneto Sir! There was nothing I could do! It's...it was out of my control!" "Oh, so you talkin' sh*t? You calling my kids weak? Like I could raise them better or something?" "Well..." *[Snaps Wiz's arm in half]*
@@tristancampbell4941 Wiz literally says in the episode that Scarlet Witch could've beaten Zatanna in many scenarios, so your line doesn't even work. It would've been better had you said "there was no way Quicksilver could've won."
@@Gadget-Walkmen To put in layman's terms, Doom is one of the most powerful non-omnipotent beings in the Marvel Universe. To say that, means that Mags is just as broken as Doom is.
@@Gadget-Walkmen In case it needs to be said even simpler. By Doom being Strong, comparing himself to anyone as actually being also strong, is scary. Like Thor or Herc saying "Hulk is Strong" would be scary
I love the part where Magneto gets the determination to win once he hears Tetsuo begging that he's in pain. Before that, he was shocked at what he was looking at. Once he heard the child's plea, there was no stopping him.
They really nailed Magneto’s personality. From being disgusted by the actions of people, to showing up an arrogant child, to killing the child not out of bloodlust but as an act of mercy when he saw that he was suffering.
@@DoubleL11862 I agree. Despite disagreeing with their motives, you can at least admire the fact they have their own “morals” to go by. It almost deters you from the fact that they are the villain regardless. Lol but chaotic evil villains are my favorite. Whole reason I have kid buu as my pfp 💀
the look in Magneto's face as he's charging the last finger laser...you can tell he doesn't want to resort to killing Tetsuo, but he knows it's the only way to end his suffering.
Lol just no. He felt sorry for him sure, but Magneto is NOT above killing children at all, he’s done it before and he would have killed Tetsuo without hesitation if he had to. Jeez, ALOT of the comments here are so unbelievable sappy and unbelievable emotional for no reason.
@@Gadget-Walkmen when has he killed children? And Morrisson's run was explained that it was another impersonator called Xorn. (And he's had quite a few of them, such as Exodus, who is far more like Ultimate Magneto.)
@@Gadget-Walkmen They would have been using the primary comic book Magneto, instead of the movie version, who has some mild differences. In the movie, he did what he did because he was too old. In here, we see feats that are far beyond those limitations. Let me rephrase that. In the 616 timeline, which story arc would you be referring to?
@@danielchaput884 I'm mainly using the movies for reference here when I say that and to say that he did that "because he was too old" is MASSIVELY dishonest here as there's no prove of that he changed in demeanor due to his age at all, he did that because he's just ruthless that way as that WAS in character from him. He doesn't have that many "limitations" at all in terms of CHARACTER as Magneto was still the same in the films and in the source material for the most part to be as valid accurate as it can be, Magneto was still MASSIVELY strong in the movie just as he's meant to be in the comics, not planetary strong, obviously, but easily the strongest beings in the X-men films THROUGHOUT the saga of them. While Magneto hasn't killed many people directly, INDIRECTLY he killed alot due to the events of the fatal attractions storyline in the comics on how he effected the earth from the shockwave from space which he KNEW what was going to happen due to his actions from trying to defend Avalon.
Fun fact, Magneto once, just for a moment, kept Earth-616 and Earth-1610 from colliding just by flying between them and repelling their magnetic fields
"It hurts... help me." I loved that moment. It completely changes the stakes in the fight. Instead of Tetsuo trying to kill an invader and Magneto killing a rival... it is now about a man trying to put a suffering child with too much power out of his misery. Perfect way to Show the actual kindness in Magneto and the tragedy of Tetsuo. I was full on rooting for Magneto at that point.
They really did Magneto justice in this battle. Not just in terms of power but personality. I loved how horrified he was at Tetsuo’s transformation and the sympathy he showed when he contained the following explosion after which he killed Tetsuo in the quickest and most humane way possible to put him out of his misery. Because we all know that Magneto could have killed him in a far more brutal, gory and agonizing manner.
Fun fact: in the Iron Man Armoured Adventures show, Magneto is able to identify and track down people by their own unique iron signature. I know that’s not canon to the comics, but still. That is an impressive display of magnetism.
It’s not canon to the comics because of the villain Onslaught. If Magneto was able to do that he could murder any being with blood in their head theoretically/hypothetically
The ending was surprising heartwarming. From Magneto trying to defend/kill his attacker to Magneto realizing that he needs to put Tetsuo out of his misery to save him.
I felt that there was some guilt in Max as well. Look at the face he made while Tetsuo was mutating, he was horrified, yes. But also recall earlier when he was choking him out and his arm started mutating. He also could’ve felt like he caused all this suffering to him as well
Tetsuo thanking Magneto for putting an end to his suffering at the end was pretty emotional, much more emotional than what I thought the fight was going to be.
Magneto's monologue later: Poor child...who would be so cruel as to do this to someone so young. So impressionable...Do not worry...I will make sure such a person is not able to create such monsters again...
I think it's pretty fortunate for Tetsuo that he was up against someone who overpowers him so easily. It's the first time the loser WANTED to die because of the painful nature of his power.
I love Magneto in this battle. The way he goes from annoyance, to pity for Testsuo's plight, to remorse for what he has to do to help him. It's a lot more emotion than I usually expect from these battles and I kind of love it.
Yes! I'm absolutely loving this new direction DB is going. I feel they're giving way better reasons for these characters to fight which set up for a lot more cool moments.
@@cyrusbrown2275 Kinda like how the last battle made sense, especially with how obviously outmatched Homelander was against Omniman, or this next battle between Hercules and Sun Wukong
It's nice to see that Magneto kept his anti-hero(?) nature here. Tetsuo is basically a teenager going on a power trip and in deep over his head playing with powers far beyond him. Magneto recognized that through the whole thing and treated him as such.
I’m pretty sure he have instan regeneration he got shot in the chest with a railgun and regenerate immediately, and he can create and destroy reality and create a universe the problem is that he doesn’t know how to use his powers to that extent what he used in the movie is just less than a grain of salt he have all the same powers that Akira who created a new universe.
@@mrdisaster5880 That's what I thought....the moment Magneto pressed him and stressed him out then Boom just like the end of Akira he'd blow up the surroundings and become a new universe....potentially blowing up Magneto or absorbing him in the process...
Lol just no. You people here are getting WAY to sappy and emotional to see the bigger picture here as that would NOT have happened at all “under different circumstances” in the slightest. Just no. The whole point of Tetsuo is that he doesn’t listen to anyone and does whatever he wants, he wouldn’t have sided with Magneto at all unless he was trying to use him to further his own goals, aim, and ego.
@@Gadget-Walkmen In all honesty mate, ya aren't calmed down. callin' other people's opinions "sappy and emotional" isn't the most calming means to debate.

Good guy Magneto is easily one of my favourite characters in fiction, i love that a person with so much trauma, and so many missteps, can be at least redeemed enough to be allowed to help do-gooders ☺️
Especially... It is pretty easy being a good person if Life threated you good and had friends and supporting family and all... But being a good person (or being able of doing good things) after going trough all what magneto for example gone? Thats an impressive feat.
It's unfortunate that so many characters with trauma are treated as villains, or broken madmen in fiction, especially comics. I didn't know that Magneto eventually got redeemed and I love it.
There would probably be a villain or anti-hero like, 'oh what, so he gets forgiven for his atrocities against humanity? He only got a slap on the wrist while I have to deal with other bs' Like can you imagine the politics of magneto becoming good? It sets a bad precedent, he would have to do it in secret. I guess. Not like ppl can do much about it tho lol.
"... Thank you..." "You're welcome..." Wow, I wasn't expecting the fight to end on a somber note. Magneto could've vaporized Tetsuo for the killing blow, but he chose a quick and painless death to end Tetsuo's suffering.
@Cool squid 22 depends on where you start the vaporization, and if it's all at once. in those moments, it could vary between painless, to extreme agony as it leaves the brain last to still comprehend the pain.
@Cool squid 22 depends on if it were instantaneous or not. Cause Tetsuo is pretty fast at his worst and broken at his best, so unless it was his entire body all at once it would have been pretty painful.
After rewatching this episode I actually gained a newfound appreciation for Magneto and everything he stands for. From his really cool and interesting powers to his tragic origin story to his conflict with Xavier and the X-Men and all the people that made his childhood hell. I actually felt bad for the guy. I’m sure he had good intentions (misguided as they were) but it turned out in a way he never expected that made him reconsider his actions, it’s a tale of how one started out as a villain become a good guy. At the same time though it kind of makes you wonder who the real villains of the story are: Humans or mutants. Something to make you think, food for thought.
Post Analysis side notes: 17:36 Without his barriers, Tetsuo was easily powerful enough to kill Magneto. However, those barriers can withstand attacks from Thor and Hercules, who are far stronger than Tetsuo 18:04 Given that Tetsuo was put out of commission after attempting to read Akira's mind, it's likely that with Magneto's greater array of abilities, the same would happen here.
I find it weird that in this battle they doubt the power of the "creation of a universe" because it looks like it's too slow but in other episodes they've taken things at face value despite them not looking fast enough. Like when they say a character is lightspeed for dodging some relatively slow looking laser blasts.
@@lgachaboyyt Yes but they didn't mention that as their reason to dismiss it, they specifically bring up the speed of the explosion themselves. They could have just called it non-canon and ignored it but went out their way to give another argument.
That felt like a mercy kill. Magneto could easily have been brutal with that kill. In a different life I could see Magneto teaching Tetsuo how to control his powers as an adoptive dad, seeing how Tetsuo is a human experiment.
@@kingrosea9231 Are you sure that's what he did in the final blow? Cause it looked like he just used a simple laser shot through Tetsuo's head. I mean he used the energy from his mutated form's big bang to stop said mutated form.
@King of The Zinger That attitude right there is why you should be seeing a therapist… You took an entirely pessimistic stance upon the mere mention of you receiving help. Therapists take up their profession because they genuinely enjoy helping people. They go through years upon years of expensive education (as you snidely noted) just so they can spend half of their career paying off that schooling. Do you think someone would go through all of that just to “likely not care or contribute” with their patient? Look, I know you must have been hurt in the past and I won’t act like I know what happened. But I do know that carrying yourself like a victim of circumstance and believing that the world is against you, isn’t going to help you in any way. It’s only going to push people even further away and cause you to cast blame onto others for your own problems. Ostracizing yourself even further through resistance.
I can't help but adore 3 sections in particular: 1. Magneto and Tetsuo rupturing the Earth's magnetic fields 2. The very cleverly hidden "Welcome to die" reference. 3. Everything after "It hurts...Help me." Those scenes strike me as the most particularly amazing!
That was the most well done death for Tetsuo. Magneto finally gave him peace by ending his torture of mutation. After all, Magneto has dealt and took care of mutants before like the X-Men.
@@andylaw3222 It's a great Manga. I would suggest reading that as there's more stuff there and it makes a lot more sense than the movie, which felt rushed to me after starting the manga. It's good. This is why I'm glad there's more Akira content in 2022. It helps introduce people to the main product. Win or lose? I was rooting for Tetsuo and he didn't disappoint me.
It would have been great if that happened and Tesudo would surely have rejected the offer because he does not want to subordinate himself to anyone because he wants to be number 1
@@fernandovaca7733 Oh for sure. The fight, as I see it, would go down as Magneto going to recruit tetsuo, tetsuo rejecting it, Magneto trying at a handful of points to convince him before seeing just how powerful and unreasonable he is and getting serious. When he goes full monster and Magneto hears Tetsuo's pleas, he decides to put him out of his misery, which makes the ending that much more potent.
Unlikely. In the Marvel universe, Tetsuo would qualify as a mutate, not a mutant. Like Spiderman, Hulk, or, someone who's powers are more similar to his: Molecule Man.
In theory if Magneto can control magnetism he could also control electricity, sound and even light/color, even weather. He could also push his body to be even faster than Tetsuo if he used the magnetism internally to move his body, even enhancing each punch. He could coat his skin in a layer of metal that he actively manipulates while fighting to create another layer of defense. He is way stronger than given credit.
He does, in fact, sometimes just decide to control electromagnetism in general, in the comics. He usually just prefers "normal" magnetism because it's a lot easier for him, IIRC.
Not only his powers and his control of his powers are immense, Magneto is extremely intelligent, wise, experienced and creative, making him all the more effective. That's why this mutant could best even gods. Tetsuo was just a kid.
He actually has almost identical powers to Mikoto Misaka, just WAY stronger. I imagine he could do everything she can, including turning metal projectiles into Railguns via Lorentz Force. THAT would be cool.
To be fair, they DID say that Tetsuo could eventually grow more powerful than Magneto as his power is naturally keeps growing and expanding so it's NOT completely one sided AT ALL as Tetsuo COULD defeat Magneto eventually through time if the fight lasted alot longer. So to say it was just "mercy" to Tetsuo isn't entirely right as Magneto COULD have lost in this death battle between the two.
The point that solidified Magneto's victory was when mutated Tetsuo started screaming into his mind. The moment the "help me" came in, Magneto knew he had to stop holding back to save the boy from such a terrible life, even if it was to end his life, Magneto knew it was a better alternative to the horrible monster Tetsuo transformed into.
Eric has probably encountered many such mutants who had to be put down because their own power was either driving them mad, or they couldn't control it. It's a grim thing to do, but it is still mercy compared to the alternitive.
It's saving both themselves and others from awful, disgusting lives. Everyone could agree that they'd rather die than to remain alive as that disgusting baby form. Power is nice, but what's the point of it if you're practically destroying everything you loved with it?
Let's not forget the time when Magneto had his heart ripped out and he endured for hours just manually pumping his blood with his powers *while fighting*. I think that comic came out after this Death Battle, but still.
Magneto is technically a God so. In his ending of Marvel Super Heroes arcade game when he beats Thanos and steals his gauntlet he literally can create planets and is worshipped as a God. And that is just one game showing one of the million things that a God like Magneto can do. Imagine how du m b someone needs to be to think that Tetsuo could last more than a second against him.
In the Apocalypse movie he moves the Earth by controlling the entire magnetic field. Even then, thats just a glimpse of what he can really do/what he’s fully capable of in the comics.
This shows why Magneto and Doctor Doom are just great characters. They are deeper than just Saturday morning cartoon villains and have so many layers to their motivations. There's a reason they're amongst the most iconic and popular Marvel villains.
@@blitz4779 Exactly. They are full of depth. The best villains are the ones that are ones that can be villains yet can also do heroic things here and there too.
@@jadespider7526 Good intentions don’t make you a hero, that simply depends on your perspective. Otherwise Thanos would be considered a hero instead of a villain.
Gotta say, you guys freakin nailed the animation, characters, and personalities of these characters! Magneto is spot on with him hating humanity, but showing mercy to a suffering child, much like his own experience in life. Very cool touch and very well done! 😁👌🏻
Of what I’ve heard about WuKong, is that he’s so op it’s ridiculous. His can shed his fur to create clones that have all of his abilities, harden his hair to be indestructible and basically immortal literally in 7 different forms
Can I just say I really do appreciate the fact this wasn’t a blood and guts ending but more Magneto taking pity on him, I know Magneto is more of a flip flop villain but him hearing Tetsuo’s cries for help and putting him out his misery actually felt right in the context of things, like sure it’s fun to see people blow to meaty chunks but just like with Jonathan Vs Tanjiro it’s a bittersweet ending as you knew what the outcome was but it’s better in the sense of how Tetsuo must of felt.
I Agree; It's Kind of Heartwarming that Magneto hears him calling out to him for help; And He DOES; He Realizes that Tetsuo's in Pain(My Poor Child); and helps him By Putting the Gross Mass of Organic Material out of his Misery; with Tetsuo being Grateful to him(thank you); and with Magneto being receptive to his Gratefulness(You're Welcome) It's nice to see Legitimately Heartwarmings moments; Even if It's in a Web Series dedicated to seeing Fictional Characters from Different Universes fighting to the Fatal Finish; It's nice to see moments like this; that make the Characters more endearing! Who would've thought there would be a MERCY Kill on Death Battle?
I've been watching this series for years, and I can safely say this battle has my favourite song to it. Makes me think of Hotline Miami in the best of ways, and it compliments the battle so incredibly well.
If I had a nickel for everytime someone described a comic book character that way I'd have a couple dollars, which isn't much but it's crazy how many times I've heard it
I really like how the latest fights have a lot more personal interaction than before. The endings especially have made it much more about how the characters react to victory/killing or being killed. In this fight especially, the fact that Magneto showed empathy for the espers' pain and ended Tetsuo's suffering with a single accurate shot shows compassion that I didn't previously know he had. I suppose at the end, he saw Tetsuo as a fellow mutant and so gave him a clean, dignified death
yeah, I noticed his demeanor change when he heard that cry for help. it showed magneto a completely different picture that he could almost relate on. Makes me wonder if Magneto could do similar feats if he lost control of his powers?
Yeah it's pretty good how they're going about the battles now. Alot of the time before this season, it felt like we were just seeing stats and power sets being thrown against each other but now, it feels like they are setting a new standard for the match ups. Like they're put more "character" into the characters, instead of just making it a slug-feast.
Tetsuo was a young boy tormented due to his powers and circumstances beyond his control. Something Magneto can relate to, all too well. In the end, as the boy’s power went wild, killing Tetsuo became a mercy. So, Erik showed him mercy.
It's clear everyone knew the outcome of the fight, but at least they handled the characters well and even ended the fight with both sides being respectful to each other, Tetsuo thanking Him for ending his pain, and Magneto showing sympathy toward him. It figures the X-Men characters would have manners to their adversary, first with Storm and now Magneto
@@schwifty8950 'Akira' is one of the first anime movies to get famous in the west; it was part of the initial Anime boom that included Sailor Moon and such. Tetsuo is from that.
@@Babbleplay iirc there were scientists from other countries trying to find a way to take down tetsuo in the manga he could've easily assumed that magneto was some sort of enemy trying to show him up or something unfortunately ive forgotten alot from the original manga so take my words with a grain of salt
You know I’ve givin you guys a lot of crap over the years but you really did something with this one especially with the two antagonists being tormented by their powers you really nailed the depth of this DB… Well done 👏
Man I love the story of Akira especially in the manga. The philosophycal focus and ambientation filled with dispair is just something else. The movie changing the anime importance outside the japan industry, so good. This was an interesting DB in my opinion, a little wierd decision at first glance, since Tetsuo is a psyonic user just like Xavier in a way. The music in the battle top tier btw. it reminds me of the theme "Crisis" in the videogame Dragonball Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (in the american version). Definitely hearing that synthwave tune a lot now.
This fight was NEVER "wierd" at all "at first glance" as it always made sense for them to match up since they have similar abilities to pair up against.
Seeing this fight. It reminded me of the old X-men cartoons and how Magneto looked after the brotherhood. Once he realized how much Tetsuo was suffering, it must have felt like he was practically fighting one of his own children. Plenty of mutants that joined the brotherhood suffered from powers they couldn't control as well. Ultimately it was touching seeing Erik spare Tetsuo from any more pain.
I have said it before but it isn’t Magento winning that I am wondering about it’s what happens when Tetsuo loses control of his powers and becomes a giant cathedral of flesh.
@@HeadHunter-mv2ht In the manga, he'd evolve and be reborn as a god. While this is happening there'd be a perpetual atomic explosion going on around him. There's no way Magneto would win this one. In the manga, Tetsuo basically destroyed most of japan when his powers manifested.
I love how when Tetsuo begged magneto to end it, magneto stopped holding back immediately and ended the fight nearly instantly, implying magneto was holding back the majority of the fight but took it serious when he realized it was a child in pain. People often forget magneto isn't completely evil at all and genuinely cares for mutants and people who suffer, but his actions to achieve peace can be horrendous. He just does what he thinks is right for the good of his kind. And giving tetsuo a quick, merciful death showed the side of him that wants to help
I predicted Magneto would win. As I said, Magneto has been using his powers for decades, and has experience against mutants with telepathic or telekinetic powers. And that special helmet was made specifically to prevent telepaths from getting into his head. Not even Charles Xavier, the most powerful telepath in the world, could bypass that helmet. So this fight was over before it began, Magneto had Tetsuo severely outclassed.
Interesting one. I wasn't sure how this would go; obviously Magneto had the edge in control and experience, but I thought maybe Tetsuo's "ego death" form might overwhelm him. But the point about proton collapse is valid; the energy was polarized, therefore Magneto could affect it.
I honestly thought Magneto would just kill Tetsuo out of anger and do it in the most violent way possible. But watching Magneto “help” Tetsuo, it truly shows how much pain he saw in Tetsuo, and he cared enough to help the esper be free from this pain. Truly a damn good fight, and a respectable death to end it off. Super excited for Hercules vs Sun Wukong!
No way in hell Hercules would win, Sun Wukong’s at the bare minimum 5 times immortal, 9 if we count technicalities, and literally invulnerable to everything except for that one fire that his enemy used once, which Hercules doesn’t have. Eh.
15:47 I like how horrified they made Magneto's model look at Tetsuo's ego form. Even with all his years fighting in Marvel comics history he's rarely come up against something so disturbing.
It's great that you guys put the effort in to get the characters personality across. That has a lot more to do with comics/anime fights than actual numbers and feats.
This made Magneto one of the most heroic characters ever in a Death Battle simply because it went from his trying to defend himself/deal with an annoying enemy, to saving the life of a kid trapped in hell. I know of Magneto from the movies and vaguely in comics, but I've never delved deeply into it. If this is how he is though, maybe I ought to check it out.
more or less this is quite accurate. Humans he doesn't really care about but in recent times he has come to see that his methods are causing more harm then good. If he see's a mutant in trouble, no matter whom it is, he has there back and will save them regardless. As far as humans go, he won't purposely kill them but he won't go out of his way to save them. If they aren't messing with him he won't bother them. In the crappy Xmen The Last Stand film after he moves the Golden Gate Bridge he takes a moment to lock the car door of the family that he noticed that was about to be caught in the middle of the battle. It was a funny moment but it is quite accurate to his character

Magneto is by far one of the best Marvel villains, the video did a good portrayal of the character In just a short video you get a look into his complex mind and morality
Magneto has always been a "wrong thing for the right reasons" kind of character, he is very compassionate to mutants and actually tries to avoid fighting the xmen in a lot of cases but has no time for humanity
Magneto is one of the most multifaceted charathers in marvel comics, to the point he's the only one that managed to get out of the cyclical resets to status quo. While he's raw output is not the highest even just ong mutants, his effectiveness is only limited by how much distructive he wants to be. But it has been since the late '80s that he decided less on the "conquering and subduing the world" and more on "creating safeheaven for mutants to protect them from humans" as a solid alternative. He has not been the direct enemy of the Xmen in a while, but he has challenged their point of wiev to the point that they conceded him the point, and latelly they even built not one, but two full on places "for mutants only" with shared ruling!
This is easily top ten death battles. The voice actors were perfect for their roles. And the dialogue between Magneto and Tetsou was beautiful. Magneto feeling bad for testou was chilling.
The last few episodes have been really quality in general. I really feel like they're finding a new stride after having let things get stale for a bit last year.
"I've had enough tantrums to last a lifetime" translation: that hurt, aloooot! After tetsuos transformation: I no longer want to kill him to save myself, I want to kill him to save HIM
Magneto just had his heart punched through his chest and pretended to be dead to coordinate a counter offensive all WITH A GAPPING HOLE IN STILL IN HIS TORSO!
This is a very unexpected DB. I guess that means Boba Feat and most likely Preator will be the 8th fight before the break when everyone was thinking Megamind v Gru as the second hidden DB that wasn't teased.
as a hardcore akira fan this is such a good way to end the battle. absolutely loved it, tetsuo is really strong but he is also just a traumatized 15 yr old that needed to be put out of his misery. now I'm getting into marvel and magneto
He doesn't get put out of his misery in canon tho you're akira fan you should know he turns into pure energy and starts creating a universe for the entire credits of the movie
Just wait til you get to some of the more hardcore stuff like Ghost Rider and Punisher. The tragic and heartbreaking stories marvel did made some of the best antiheroes
@OP Michael Lorah is referring to Marvel MAX, and imprint that (while taking place inside the main continuity) focuses on mature stories aimed at an adult audience. Before that, there was Marvel Knights (which was also the unofficial name given to DareDevil's team of heroes), which -- with all due respect t the original writers & artists -- is when characters like the Punisher really began to shine
That was a terrific Death Battle. I enjoy DBs that don't necessarily end predictably. I didn't expect Magneto to harness a Big Bang Attack for instance, or battle a giant Ego.
there's also the fact that technically everything is magnetic to a certain degree, with magneto's powers he could use practically everything around him, because with a powerful enough field you can start levitating Plastic, but by that point you're pushing more power than a pulsar
@@aaaaaa-rr8xm idk tbh🤔 it has been shown that he throws videorecorders, TVs etc. with his powers which have aluminium in them or copper that are non magnetic. Might be a plothole or mistake made by the writers, or he can actually control non magnetic metals
Magneto a.k.a Malcolm X has one of the most insane power sets in all of Marvel. When I was a young boy, I used to just think he could only throw metal around but as I got older and actually developed a scientific understandin of electromagnetism via physics, Magneto literally has the ability to manipulate practically anythin tangible because virtually everythin contains some sort of metallic particles in it down to vegetation, water, and even within the composition of the air itself. If Magneto were to develop and exercise a full mastery over the electromagnetic spectrum, he could actually be classified as a reality warper and the fact he's already beat Pheonix Jean Grey shows Tetsuo stood no real chance!
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but magneto has a red aura around himself at about 15:01. This means Tetsuo was actually pulling him in at the time, and he used that momentum to pull the building in. Absolutely diabolical.
The fact that Tetsuo DESIRED death, and Magneto was kind enough(in a cosmic sense) to grant that wish, it proves that he really has reformed from his previous genocidal persona. Well done, Magnus. You have truly proven that you may have iron in your blood, but your heart is as pure as the clarity of blue ice. 👏👏👏👏

I mean, one of my best friend hates Jojo, and we still are besties.
Tetsuo was too unstable even before his powers were activated so it's hard to tell how powerful he really is. It's like Batman "winning" a fight with Superman because punching Batman into pink dust isn't in his character
Nothing can beat something that manages to tank the Phoenix Force, which is capable of destroying multiple universes, using the magentic field of a single planet.
Although the thing is, it is unstable, Tetsuo could barely control it to it's true potential, while Magneto has 100% fully control of his own ability and actually has superb experience due to him using it at a very young age and fighting the Xmen and many others for decades.
@@skybattler2624 Being able to do that indicates that Magneto can intensify any magnetic field with no appreciable limits. As long as he has a body, he has essentially infinite power. Of course, he's not going to go all out in every encounter with foolish mutant kids, so he took his time ramping up. I kinda knew it too. Magneto's feats were just were more insane compared to Tetsuo's. Ever since seeing someone do a Mewtwo vs Tetsuo matchup i knew this match was gonna in Magneto's favor from the beginning. Though it wasn't as one-sided as i thought it would be.
I've for some time how could Tetsuo return to his human form once he has his ego collapse. After reading more about "ego death", I think that it is reasonable that the way you could identify yourself with you is with a strong exterior impulse that both your body and mind can recognize at the same time. I think that it was the pain felt by that beam Magneto shot at Tetsuo after he took control of that big bang. I know this adds nothing really, but I wanted to share.
Leading up to the House of M, Magneto heard that the X-Men were planning to kill Scarlet Witch (his daughter) and created two miniature black holes so that he could use an Einstein-Rosen bridge to travel instantaneously between them, effectively teleporting to New York. The entire storyline is weird and the writing was meh, but Magneto's shenanigans were some of the best parts.
Magneto has always been the gentleman's gentleman. Especially to those with powers that they don't want or can't control. He might be a villain, but Magneto's not a monster.
Magneto is a villain, but his villainy doesn't really come from hatred or evil IMO. It comes from his experience during one of humanity's greatest atrocities and his absolute faith that his people, the mutants, are the future and his fear that humanity will attempt to destroy them out of fear of losing their place as the dominant species on Earth. That fear made him decide to destroy humanity first, but the fact that he started out as an X-Man and joined them again later once he realized his methods were only hurting his people more than helping them is proof of this. He does care about people, but he's a pragmatist that embodies the idea that "humanity will eventually push our kind until it becomes a battle to determine the survival between us or them, and I damn well intend to make sure that we're the ones that make". I have no problem imagining Magneto genuinely feeling bad for Tetsuo and killing him as a mercy rather than simply for his own survival because despite the horrible things he's done, he's not an altogether horrible person. At least not in the main continuity.
Anti-Villain. I deeply appreciate Magneto showing his respect to Tetsuo by saying "you're welcome" after Tetsuo thanked him from his miserable pain. In fact, I'm deeply moved by this
@@charlesstebbins7207 Tetsuo has human side too. In manga, he absolutely obliterates Tokyo to rubble and those who oppose him into red paint, yet throughout the entire story he cannot bring himself to actually destroy Kaneda who is his lifelong friend. And Kaori, his girlfriend further exposes his capability to empathy both in movie and manga, showing that he actually isn't a complete psychopath, since psychopaths are wired to not feel anything towards anyone. In both movie and manga when his body starts to grow into eldritch horror, he begs Kaneda to help him and to run away, showing that he never had genuine hatred towards him, but he just wanted to be validated as human instead of a runt.

Possible when you realize Juggernaut is in the Brotherhood and never had an active X gene, he's the avatar of a god.
Still not beating goku
Wait with magnetism Magneto can control electricity, sound, light/color, and the weather?!
How?
To Tetsuo, this was a Death Battle.
To Magneto, this was mercy.

I’m actually with Boomstick on the fact that Magneto is WAY more powerful than I thought 😐
Magneto is technically a God so. In his ending of Marvel Super Heroes arcade game when he beats Thanos and steals his gauntlet he literally can create planets and is worshipped as a God. And that is just one game showing one of the million things that a God like Magneto can do. Imagine how du m b someone needs to be to think that Tetsuo could last more than a second against him.
i always thought he could just move metal around
In the Apocalypse movie he moves the Earth by controlling the entire magnetic field. Even then, thats just a glimpse of what he can really do/what he’s fully capable of in the comics.

As they said in his analysis, he wants what's best for mutants. In this case, it's a mercy kill.

I really loved the finish for Jonathan Joestar vs Tanjiro also.
Indeed.

People often forget magneto isn't completely evil at all and genuinely cares for mutants and people who suffer, but his actions to achieve peace can be horrendous. He just does what he thinks is right for the good of his kind. And giving tetsuo a quick, merciful death showed the side of him that wants to help
Magneto has seen the worst of humanity, and he will not ever allow it to happen again. By any means necessary.
Hm.
@@kahlzun Even when that means he himself have sometime become what he want to prevent.
He has not been the direct enemy of the Xmen in a while, but he has challenged their point of wiev to the point that they conceded him the point, and latelly they even built not one, but two full on places "for mutants only" with shared ruling!

that despite him being a villain and all of that
Even Evil can have standards

@@michaelw.8331 can’t forget the time he ripped Apocalypse in half 😮💨
@@jared103 that's up there with Knull ripping Sentry apart and Doom ripping out Thanos' spine. Magneto ripping apart Apocalypse was so satisfying.
mmm
This is one of the best episodes they have ever made. It's just ao damn good!
the shot of Tetsuo strangling Magneto goes super hard to me for some reason
Magneto vs Tetsuo in a nutshell:
Tetsuo: "I make the rules around here!"
Magneto: "I'm about end this child's whole career."
Adults always win!
Ah, a fellow First member I see.
This kids a goner

You could actually see the sadness on Magneto's face as he delivers the final blow. Such a nice sweet touch
The worst part was that, according to the creators, that death was what Tetsuo was hoping for, lunging for Magneto like that.
@@batmanbeyond6815 that actually made me sad because tetsuo actually wanted that to happen but magneto said “I really wish there was another way”
Not only that, he also reflects the same way that happened to him when he was a child after he and his family separated during the H∅locaust.
Note: I know I'm months late, but I'm going to show my thoughts and theories about what happening to him.
He's not pure, nor broken villain. He's the balance of both.
@@AnimationFanboy2k4 yea u rite plus I am the same guy just on a different account
i literally have tears in my eyes, damn this is emotional asf, i love death battle
I was hoping that magneto was going to say "Welcome to die" but I feel this is one of the best death battles ever
"Magnets, how do they even work?" I remember that quote from the Godzilla vs. Gamera episode. Glad they remembered it for this one.
Apparently it's actually a song.
I think it's from an Insane Clown Posse song. Don't recall which one, I just remember the mental image of Juggalos dancing with bad graphics in the background.
Given that he called ICP prophets methinks it was a reference to the mirthful messiahs of the high blood cult
@@Mr_Wholegrain correct the song is called Miracles
If I had a nickel for every Death Battle in which Magneto randomly showed up in Japan… well, I’d have two nickels, but it’s weird that it happened twice
Wait, what was the first again?
