Yup, let's face it, there was only one way this fight was going to end. As a huge fan of both The Boys and Invincible, it was an honor to be able to provide the voice and performance of Homelander, in a battle against Omni-Man no less. If you thought watching Homelander get bodied was satisfying, imagine how fun and satisfying it was acting it out. Thank you for having me!
I was hoping you would return after the episode on The Seven. Glad to see the voice acting work has been going well for you Yong!
superb job man! keep it up
Oh damn! Nice work, Yong!
My man you killed it as homelander!

You beat me to it lol best possible description of this fight
The most impressive thing done in this fight by either side is Homelander not dying in one hit and Nolan pulling off that Mortal Kombat fatality with his eyes closed. Bro knew the anatomy of a human better than an actual human.
It's the superpowered equivalent of George Meade vs Christopher Columbus.
@@jeffreygao3956 I would've said William Sherman or Grant VS McClellan.
@@TheImperialSoviet I really needed to sell the 'bully' as someone who only relied on brute force who rarely fought enemies on an identical technology level and would be outmatched against someone with superior tech.
For Homelander, it was the most dangerous fight of his entire life. For Omni Man, it was Tuesday.
Truly, the hardest part about today for Nolan was picking a dating site to sign up for
Tuesday? This was just the warm-up exercise.
For the guy with the ear muffs, he was very confused, as he just died and respawned.

@@FrostyHambone or even worse, thats his twin
I loved how Omni-Man never once lost his cool, and even talked down to Homelander to treat him like the overgrown child that he is.
Basically, from the side glance at 13:32, Omni-man became a teacher, and Homelander was in for one hell of a lesson.
I'm surprised how brief this fight was. Comparatively short in DB terms. Saved the animator alot i guess.
@@Psike81 most of the animated fights are short by DB standards, like Smokey vs McGruff. Ones that aren’t typically have other types of animation thrown in to help them with that length, like Saitama vs Popeye or Deadpool vs The Mask.
@@Psike81 how many db fights are completely hand drawn? They've always been 16 bit or 3d animations, so they put in a ton of effort into this one in particular. Also it sorta shows the massive power gap between them

Imagine the reality check Homelander had when his jaw got ripped out. His entire life he was an unscratchable god and now he had do face an actual godlike being which completely outclassed him in every way possible.
It was funnier when...
[Edit: comics] Spoiler:
...when his own clone did that to him. It isn't only him was overpowered for the first time. But also by a being who had liturally the exact same powers. Showcasing that he was really sucking at what he was doing.
Honestly the second he bled out his nose he was panicking, when omni man ripped his jaw you could just see the pure fear in his eyes and voice.
That fear set in when he got that nosebleed.
@@leonardomontealegre3284 Yeah, the nose bleed was when he realized he COULD lose and had to go all out. The jaw rip was when he realized he lost already and was about to die.

Gotta love how Nolan glanced at Debbie's corps and didn't even flinch. That small detail should have made Homlander just a little more on edge about fighting this man.
Yeah. If Homelander was smart then that little hint would have told him that this was not going the way he expected.

Yeah Nolan’s not like any other superhero homlander he usually encounters.
Nolan does care about Debbie. But he also knows how to compose himself. Tranquil rage is a thousand times scarier than some berserker fury.

Homelander is so arrogant because he’s the big bully who hasn’t faced anyone stronger than him before.
Seeing him slowly lose his cool as he was overwhelmed was satisfying.

I love how as soon as Omni-man realizes that Homelander has one power that can harm him (sonic attacks) he goes straight for the jaw!
In the comics that was even nolan’s job for a while. He found things in the universe that could harm viltrumites and disabled them.
And on top of that it was an exaggeration by Death Battle to allow HL an advantage, since viltrumites are weak to a few very specific frequencies, not sonic attacks in general, and Homelander is highly unlikely to randomly stumble upon the right ones in a death battle, especially if he wasn't aware that was a weakness
@@PossessedbyPhoenixyea they really had to spoon feed homelander somewhat of a win
@@nickmiller9910Well not mattered much but they had to make this…not a full demolished stomp and just kind of a “What else do you expect-“

I dont watch the boys but from the things that i know, i hate homelander and im sure thats what the author wants. But man, id like to see omni man just go to town on this guy instead of just toying with him. Just pound him like he did with mark.
Omni-Man telling Homelander how to punch is one of the most badass things ever
How to TAKE a punch.
Lmao, yes, and it’s a reference to when Omni-man was training Mark after he got his superpowers.
You have to turn to reduce (breaks Homelander's nose) better!
It's so condescending, i love it. From the moment Homeboy was on screen he was completely out of his depth and it's amazing to see.
Teaching him how to fight in the middle of trying to kill him.
Imagine being that pathetic lmao
The Compound V works by altering a person’s DNA. So in theory, you could just expose Homelander to a really powerful emission source, such as radium or polonium, and his magic DNA is fried for good.
This is why they were going to nuke him in the comics if he went crazy when he was younger.
With an actual nuke.
I presume that's why Soldier Boy's radiation blasts in the show were capable of depowering Supes. He basically hits you with enough concentrated radiation to blast away the bits that make your DNA special, like what he did to Maeve.
"I'm not here for your country" has the same energy as "Earth isn't yours to conquer". Props to the writers to make it actually character accurate. And for people who says Omni man doesn't care about Debbie. Please read the comic.
Hell even In the show he still cares for her, he likens her to a pet, which is sort of understandable given his life span, but more importantly we have an entire movie based on the death of one guys dog, so killing a pet passes people off.
First thing that happens when he walks in while Homelander is talking? He glances over to Debbie's corpse. Nolan went into this fight COMPLETELY unamused.
its way better
Debbie being his pet doesn't mean that killing her won't piss him up. *cough* John Wick *cough*
@@misterbin00 it's also inaccurate because that line was omniman trying to convince himself. He loved her, he truly did begin to love her, but his job caught up to him and he had to make a choice, and so he chose to flee
"One is a warrior, and the other is a bully."
That says it all right there. Omni-Man actually believes he was doing the right thing by his people, despite how wrong he went about it. On the other hand, Homelander is only concerned with his own ego and reputation. We eventually discover that Omni-Man is capable of redemption despite the atrocities he committed while Homelander has shown no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It was so satisfying see Homelander get curb stomped.
And he even helped his entire race find redemption...
Man, seeing Omni-Man ripping Homelander's lower jaw and feeding his own heart was brutal...

Homelander has NEVER fought anyone even near his Weight Class in The Boys' Universe. All the other Supes are just complimentary and are never pitted against each other. Hell, compared to Homelander they are all C-Listers. “The best way of showing anger is silence because words can’t reveal the real anger”

Where did you get that quote?
Homelander only cared about his family for selfish reasons. Nolan.... actually cared. He loved his family very deeply in spite of himself. So. His silence. That long inhale and him never raising his voice.
It's a father looking at the mess his son has made of everything as said son is having a screaming temper tantrum and then coldly deciding that he is going to beat sense into his own child.
And in this instance 'beat sense into' is 'Feed the dipshit his own heart.'
"That's my secret. I'm always angry."

The reason it’s not Invincible vs Homelander is because… while Mark is weaker than his dad, he woulda killed Homelander faster after what happened to Debby.
Yeah, he doesn't have Nolan's tight control over his emotions. And when Mark freaks out, anyone who's not Viltramite tier had better start running.

I love at the beginning of the fight when Omni-Man takes a deep breath and is basically like, "Okay, we're doing this now."
"One is a warrior, the other is a bully." And both VAs nailed their respective character. Nolan's more calm, somewhat aged voice gives a feel of a true veteran. And even when he gets angry, he is more subdued in it. YoungYea gave his egotistical Homie a more bombastic air. And it is surprising how he was able to also perfectly express sheer rage with psychotic hyperventilating and mad voice cracking. He actually felt like a bully.
If J.k. Simmons and Anthony Starr ever need back up voice actors these would be the prefect voices for their characters even though they already killed it in their roles but these guys would be on stand-by just in case if I'm gonna be honest.
Omni literally is a bully himself, the way you guys praise him like he’s any better than HL is cringe. He tried to enslave the whole human race, HL only wants a family and to be loved. He never goes out of his way to hurt innocent people unless they’re choosing to stand in his way.

A lot of Omni-mans truly ridiculous feats of destruction involve building up lots of momentum with a sustained force. I think it's perfectly reasonable for Homelander to be able to trade blows with him for a little while and burn him a bit with the heat vision.
