Great inspirational video! This is the first video that shows the struggle. Its a balance between the machine and the pilot. Making that first bond with the first successful flight is incredible. You will always remember that first quad that took the beating for your learning experiences. When you finally get it. There is nothing like it!
I like how every time he was in the shot, he was flying line of sight. Not once did it show him flying/looking through first person. In all fairness it does say learning to fly an FPV drone, not learning to fly FPV.
stumbled on this video by accident, i am still so at the beginning of your video, struggling with a Walkera F210 3D. The learning part is so satisfying ;)
I know a lot of you clicked on this video to learn how to better maneuver a racing drone. This video was for a short film competition. I am working on a video on how I taught myself and it worked like a piece of cake! I should have something by this weekend.
No, I clicked exactly for the thing that I saw. I wanted to see what it looks like when you don't know how to steer a drone, do it for the first time and learn. :)
Right now I am one step before this. I got the 250 fpv racer from Banggood I know how to fly SLOW stabilized quads. To start I still need to wait the Dsm orange tx since my quad expects a receiver with ppm and my current tx doesn't have this (unless I buy ppm/PWM converters)
hy thanks for the video i have the 250 storm racer type b with a carbon frame I learned a lot from your video thanks ps nice video I can not wait to see how you fly now
Never flew any quads except DJ quads , but I have flown many fixed wing model airplane . I am thinking of getting into racing quads , do u think it's a time for me .
Man that's so funny your first part of the video is where I'm at now. Lol I did yesterday fly a whole pack with goggles and didn't hit anything or the ground so I guess I'm getting there.
So i guess as i just got my first artf setup moka frame with tx and googles , this will be me inevitably mowing the lawn and hitting trees for a while right ? XD
nice beginner video I was doing the same thing. I have had 2 Storm racing drones the SRD 250 V3 and the BNF SRD 250 V2 my 250 v3 has stopped working ever since I replaced the esc and used Libre Pilot to program my cc3d board. now I have a vortex 250 what a great quad also parts are readily available. my problem with Helipal is they are overseas so good luck trying to reach out to the service dept and parts are hard to come by for the SRD 250 unless you purchase them from Helipal. keep up the good work you must be a pro at flying fpv now.
Maybe you should stop ordering from Helipal and go for Banggood kits instead! Spare parts are dirt cheap, martian 2 frames are amazing. I feel the Storms are too heavy for acro :)
I was loving the Storm 250 then I purchased a Immersion Vortex 250 pro and I love it. I can't break this thing and when in acro mode it's really fast. great balance for doing flips and rolls. thinking about getting another for a back up. drone.
Hi Greg, Thanks for posting the video! Made me chuckle more than once. I am curious about your interaction with the Feelworld monitor on a stand when controlling the aircraft. Do the monitor side shields and display brightness work effectively when outside? Thanks, Keith
I didn't understand the point at first, but then i got it, this was a great "Phantom pilots be like...", video!! A couple days later and what....? still need more practice? still haven't learned that my antenna isn't supposed to be pointing straight at my reciever? still don't really grasp the meaning of fpv racing drone? Here is the lost title, Couple days later... and all I learned is that I miss my Phantom! No but for real, great video, keep it up! #PhantomDRL #PhantomPilots4L
get DAL props. almost indestructable. i held my quad in my hand, and full throttle slammed the props into a metal stop sign pole. only damage was the tips were a little nibbled up, but i fixed it in 3 seconds with some sandpaper. only 5 bucks a set, but seeing as they dont break... you wont buy props again unless you dont like the colors :P
I’m learning how to fly this drones on a simulator. But every simulator is different and now I’m like a beginner on the Liftoff simulator. Quick question, does the simulator really helps you become a better pilot? Or do you really need to build your own quad and fly and practice in real world?
I have a 4s 3" and a 4s 5" and both are amazing to fly in acro however the easiest way to become a good pilot is by not doing 1 thing, I would recommend building a drone (whatch uavfutures $100 for a cheap and good beginners drone) and then also use DRL sim while practicing in real life
Muhammed Khan do you recommend practicing with the newbee drone kit? It’s around $170 for a beginner kit. It’s like a toy. Or do you recommend building one? I tried a couple of simulators. The first one was the FPV freerider. I could control the drone in that simulator, but when I switched to Liftoff, it was so much harder to fly.
@@crispywisp if you have never flown anything before at all then I recommend either getting a 15$ hubsan off of Amazon or just building a 5", you can buy them however it is much more beneficial learning how to build it bc if u break one u brought and can't fix it ur kinda stuffed, then if u get the hubsan just learn to fly that then, or if u make a 5" make sure u have it set up on a switch to have stabilised/angle mode and go to the biggest field near you and alongside watching yt videos abt it flying slowly line on site angle which will transition into fpv angle which will make u want to do fpv acro which is where the racing happens
@@crispywisp but I wouldn't recommend the newbee kit as you will quickly grow out of it and unlike a $15 hubsan u can't just throw it out if you get what I mean
Muhammed Khan I know. This is what’s stopping me from getting the newbee drone. It’s a fraction of the price of an actual drone. I was ready to order parts and build the drone, but when I tried the Liftoff simulator, I was put off how difficult it is to fly the drone in the simulator. I got worried I could hurt or even destroy the drone in the process of learning how to fly an actual one. But part of me thinks that the fastest way to learn is to actually fly a drone in real life. Is it really that difficult to fly an FPV like in this video? Or like in Liftoff simulator? By the way, I’ve flown DJI drones. But I’m sure FPV is completely different.
was this on auto leveling or no? as in if u let go of the pitch and roll stick would the drone automatically back out or was this on stunt/race mode? I ask because I'm looking into the sport and I don't know much. Is it better to learn to fly without auto level from the start? Ive flown many drones as in the cheap 30$ ones like the hubsan X4
I used three drones in this video. The first drone is on the bottom of the river. The high shots I used a DJI Phantom, the low fast shots I used a storm 260 hex. I found that flying in free style mode was much easier and you don't spoil yourself with flight assistance and the drone response is much faster and taking tight turns much easier. I learned without the auto leveling. Don't worry about crashing, your going to crash, thats what these are made for and they are fun to work on and easy to fix.
Great job capturing what we all know but no one talks about. This crap is really hard and you crash a lot!!!!! Nice work! And congrats on breaking though
can you do a video on the control movement's I can't seem to keep my Strom Drone Type A V2 to stay at the same level and can seem to turn with out crashing. HELP PLEASE! Thanks O!
+Oscar Santos I was about to throw the drone in the garbage from frustration. I had the same problem. When working with your controller, don't work one stick at a time. When steering, if you turn with one controller stick all the power will just go to certain propellers. Feather the turning with both sticks to even out the power. It keeps it nice and level. When I got the hang of turning a little, I walked behind the drone while flying. Couple of hours you will be wearing the fpv goggles tearing up the neighborhood!
buy your first one, so you can learn to fly, and dont spend too much money, after you decided that you like it, get some research and build yours, its not hard, bur it takes some time to get all necessary information, I have some custom build on my youtube channel and online store
Nubian Emporer well, i recommend something cheap, so you can try the hobby if you like it, don't buy anything expensive and advanced as your first quad, i build kinda cheap quads worth all accessories like radio, camera, charger for about 200, you can do it cheaper, but parts will be low quality. even simple toy from wallmart may be ok, so you can try it. don't buy goggles also right away, learn to fly it first
nice vid, however, you are not flying ACRO as far as I can see.. your quad levels itself, which means its not in ACRO mode. racing drones Always fly ACRO, its the biggest challenge of learning to fly a race drone imho. keep up the good work!
The best fast quad video I ever see. The only one that shows the hard phase of learning how to pilot.
Great inspirational video! This is the first video that shows the struggle. Its a balance between the machine and the pilot. Making that first bond with the first successful flight is incredible. You will always remember that first quad that took the beating for your learning experiences. When you finally get it. There is nothing like it!
Not gonna lie, 3:15 had me laughing pretty good.
omg yes, roflmao!!
Not odly, way too familiar footage like my early days too!
Great video dude, accurate and funny!
Nice, grate job, and the song... very nice choice
I like how every time he was in the shot, he was flying line of sight. Not once did it show him flying/looking through first person. In all fairness it does say learning to fly an FPV drone, not learning to fly FPV.

Funny and realistic! First it's kind that I have seen. A+ for originality!

Nice video editing on this video. Looks like you are starting to get the hang of it. It's a wonderful hobby in my opinion. Keep on flying. :)
I love finding old fpv videos
Glad to see you had the patience and wallet to learn this fun sport. I am still learning every day I fly. Wait till you build your forest quad.
Felt lazy to rebuild, but you inspired me
That one shot looked like the power plant on the Rock River near Beloit....
Good job! The beginning is pretty accurate to what its like. Buy a lot of props! Oh and find open fields!
+bullets223 I bought a bag of 200 props, 3 months later I am empty.
Simply beautiful and moving. I Salute you.
Thanks, I've enjoyed this journey.
hy thanks for the video i have the 250 storm racer type b with a carbon frame
I learned a lot from your video thanks
ps nice video I can not wait to see how you fly now
Never flew any quads except DJ quads , but I have flown many fixed wing model airplane . I am thinking of getting into racing quads , do u think it's a time for me .
Drone man from Nepal the fpv quads are crazy fun. Fast and responsive and just all around cool. Plus building your own from ground up is awesome
Man that's so funny your first part of the video is where I'm at now. Lol I did yesterday fly a whole pack with goggles and didn't hit anything or the ground so I guess I'm getting there.

I have flown pattern racers for years-- FPV is tough!!
omg do our quads fly so much better now. :D
looking back at older videos you can see all the work that has gone into the Pid.
I see you broke quite a few props, one cool thing you can do with broken props is make necklaces with them, it's a cool way to show your hobby.
Can you give the maker of the drone and a link to order it in the description? Maybe the music to.
really good clear video!!
Hi Greg,
Thanks for posting the video! Made me chuckle more than once. I am curious about your interaction with the Feelworld monitor on a stand when controlling the aircraft. Do the monitor side shields and display brightness work effectively when outside?
Thanks,
Keith
+Keith Roy In the sun it worked great if I couldnt find shade. I suggest monitor first then goggles.
Thanks for the feedback Greg!
How i can buy this finish racing drones, controllers and googles?
I didn't understand the point at first, but then i got it, this was a great "Phantom pilots be like...", video!! Loved this video. If at first you don't succeed, try again. The struggle is real, you WILL crash a lot in the beginning.
Where do you buy your drones from
Great video! When you said "a couple of days later" was that all it took? 8 hours a day? 4? Just curious. Impressive learning curve!
It is definitely a struggle and I enjoy watching you progress.
But by now you went acro all the way, right?
what is a good fpv setup for under $200 i have a great drone just need cam and goggles ?
Cool video
Dude awesome video. Thx
3:15 thats why you should keep your wires safe from the props

agree, I recommend first to learn how to fly it, before using FPV. but great video
I downloaded a simulation from the DRL site :)
When i mastered it, i am going to buy a decent cheap drone.
😅😅
super funny the exploding drone ;)
Start trying acro man you are gonna love it you don't need to fight the fc to get the quad to do what you want
Yes start with 5” inch quadcopter. Why don’t you start with a whoop?
hey, is walkera f210 is good enough for racing begginer?
are you mowing the grass or trying to fly? you make it look much harder than it should be
I’m learning how to fly this drones on a simulator. But every simulator is different and now I’m like a beginner on the Liftoff simulator.

Very nice! Very inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
at 3:37 was that a Hexcopter? what is the type of the hex, i want one of those.
Storm SRD 260. go to helipal.com. It sounds like a Harley Davidson and its super fast, easy to fix.
wow that's beast, i will order it
I'm confused, the clip says fpv not los
Great job capturing what we all know but no one talks about.
This crap is really hard and you crash a lot!!!!!
Nice work! And congrats on breaking though
I can't identify the music clip of this video :-( Anyone knows the title?
Thank you .. pulling my hair out trying to fly my x220 .. will take out of the closet and keep at it in hopes of achieving the same results …
i think you need a little camera tilt because you are seeing a lot of ground
thanks for sharing keep working on it......

Nice vide, fall :D
Nice video
Nice 😁👍👍👍
Is it better to build a drone or buy one?
Beginners should buy first.
Greg Yuhas i have bought drones before I have two micro drones and a large drone with a camera but I have modified it to make it go faster
buy your first one, so you can learn to fly, and dont spend too much money, after you decided that you like it, get some research and build yours, its not hard, bur it takes some time to get all necessary information, I have some custom build on my youtube channel and online store

Very good 😊
what quad is that?
what state is this??
AWWWWW.... a boy and his drone... lol. Nice camera work brah
Way to go Greg!,
brilliant.

Storm SRD 260 hex.

Min 3:17 was fantastic :-)
more drone videos. make them and we will watch
couples day later he decided to do Line Of Sight only 😂😂😂
All you need is velocidrone. The end.
Looks like LOS to me.. Maybe an occasional look at a monitor?
I can relate!
Is it exploded???? For real???
Adobe After Effets
It Looks good
Good
This is one of the ways to cut your grass...
It would be better if you download a FPV simulator, some are $5-10 some are free
that's what happens when you practice
Title was to long, I tuned off.
fpv ? on the video you fly los
UASchecklist.com for the checklist for your drone. It keeps you flying within the FAA regulations for recreational use.
Nice...
i wanna watch how to fly, instead of inspiring thing lol
If you were learning why would you buy a racing drone
this video made me nauseous for some reason lol... not doggin on you... i just never had this feeling before...
So true :D
you are not even flying fpv. Why do you write that down in the title? or have you got invisible fpv-goggles?
scifi you can't see the small camera on the front of the quad? He's using a screen on a tripod, not goggles.
лайк
gearbest has better selection of quads.
Daniel Holroyd better selection, not better quality. selection means they have more to choose from. quality is usually more expensive.
your just flying a drone, your not flying FPV
Thats not fpv fly.....
false advertisement
u dont no how to fly a quadcopter
