    6:10 Obviously Hairliciously is referring to Kevin Mann.... Kevin Mann is the most vocal person in the hair loss community about his opposition to oral minoxidil. And that's perfectly fine, we're all entitled to our own opinions. And we're all grown men and can make decisions for ourselves regarding oral minoxidil.

      Transplanted hair is permanent, however many people naturally lose a bit of hair density over time even if they don’t have traditional MPB, just as part of the aging process. Transplanted hair is subject to this but not flat out loss if that makes sense. If you have a transplanted hairline for example it will remain throughout life but may get slightly thinner over the years.

    • @glgl1472
      @glgl1472 2 года назад +1

      What needs to be discussed is that many men especially now are given finasteride 5 mg not 1 mg in propecia form but 5 mg for BHP. I've took 1 mg that I started at 34 and then at 50 I went up to 5 mg of finasteride for BHP and I'm now 64 and my hair loss has stabilized I have not grown any hair but I haven't lost any so the long-term effects and the long-term studies are really there because finasteride is used to stop your prostate from growing otherwise if I didn't take that and flomax I would not be able to pee and I already would have had my prostate removed. Screw the efficacy of finasteride I hope my flomax doesn't piss out pardon the pun because then I'll have to have my prostate removed. It's a bloody nasty surgery

    • @KFC431
      @KFC431 2 года назад

      Dude don't listen to your friends trust me. The chance of you getting any side effect is pretty low. Do some research. Studies have shown that. Just start with finasteride topically so it will stop dht from affecting more hair follicles. Then after few months or a year you can take minoxidil if you feel like you need it. And if it's not enough then this video mentionned many other treatments that can reduce the effect of other hormones that contribute to hair loss. I've been on finasteride for 6 months and no side effect so far with pretty good results.

    • @KFC431
      @KFC431 2 года назад

      And if you get any side effect you can simply just stop taking it. Btw I'm taking 1.25 mg of finasteride but you can also take 0.5 mg to have an even lower chance to get any side effect. But it's all about finding the right amount for yourself.

    • @KFC431
      @KFC431 2 года назад

      You have literally nothing to lose. The only first side effect that most people get is a rapid hair loss since it restart your hair follicle cycle and makes bad hair fall to produce better hair. Just do me a favor and go talk to a professional like family doctor or a dermatologist. Go see family doctor first so they might give you prescription so you can buy finasteride sooner. (Well for my area family doctors are more accessible and also there are fake dermatologist out there since government feel like it doesn't really matter since it's an appearance issue.)

    What do you recommend for anyone who isn’t going to get a hair transplant and has thinning mainly around the crown? I’m currently taking 1mg finna using Monoxidil day and night and using a derma roller once a week. Have you ever tried ketakonzole shampoo? What makes your shampooo best for thinning and blocking DHT?

    It is probably a stupid question..
    Can’t you make minoxidil sulfate into a topical treatment?
    Should it be approved first, as the minoxidil already was for blood pressure management? Is it not chemically stable ?

    • @hairliciously
      @hairliciously  2 года назад +2

      As a topical, it’s pretty unstable in aqueous solution and prohibitively expensive to obtain minox sulfate powder. Much easier to take minoxidil orally and let the liver metabolize it

    Gday mate, a fan from Australia commenting here. Your videos have been really fantastic, I want to sincerely thank you for this wealth of knowledge you are sharing with us all. You are extremely knowledgeable and present the information really well.
    Just commenting to tell you that I really like this haircut - you can rock it because you have a magnificent hairline. I can't do this hair style anymore because my temples have receded a bit too much at the front. This is better than the haircut you had before, which was more stereotypical for an East Asian gentleman. This looks much more boss. I encourage you to keep it. Take care brother.

    Heya, need some advice. So I've almost been on finasteride 1mg daily for a year. Around month 5 is when I really started getting the thickness and all the benefits, however now I think I started to lose ground with my crown thinning again. My hair everywhere else on my head feels and looks thicker but previously thinning parts started thinning again, and been thinning for months. Could this be a prolonged shedding phase? How long should one stay on finasteride before upgrading their protocol?
    Currently NW3, 24, taking 1mg fin daily, microneedle once a week at 1.7mm, minox twice a day and ketokonizole every other day

    • @hairliciously
      @hairliciously  2 года назад +2

      I’d say give it a couple months and see if it still continues to thin. It might be a prolonged shedding phase. What’s your family history of balding looking like? Also any bloodwork done to check hormone levels?

      Take it three times a week should be fine, don’t worry too much about what you read online. I’ve been on it for 3-4 months I saw some sides at month 3 but it went away.

      Grizzy - read my post on this. Sorry to say you will get side effects. Your balls will likley ache like fuck which is your bodies way of telling you that your poisoning it. Keep taking it and your sexual functioning WILL be effected, whether softer erections, lower libido, whatever but something WILL happen. If your happy with this take Finasteride. The side effects reported eg 2% is TOTAL bs. Don't take my word for it though. Take it for two weeks, maybe a month as I doubt this will harm your body much and then let me know how you get on. I have £20 on it with you this WILL happen and anyone else who wants to shake on this who does the same. I wouldn't shake hands with a Pharma company selling this as they won't honour the outcome

    Amitabh Bachan and Rajnukant are not stupid wearing a hair patch with nearly unlimited money. Because hair patch can give You a result in 4 hours, which any hair-transplant can't give You in 4 years. And You will suffer terrible, terrible pain. It's like 10.000+ needle stitches (once removing and 2nd injecting in the bald area). Hair patch gives You nearly 100 % perfect result, whereas as a hair-transplant will give maybe a less than 50 % result. So think more than 10.000 times before going for plastic surgery! All the best! You can see it on RUclips, where pioneers have applied both methods. It's like 10.000 planned injury. If only one hair hole gets inflammation, it can finish Your life via blood-poisoning. That's why You won't see any plastic surgeon, who has done this kind of hair-transplant surgery on his family or close friends. Because they are aware of the many, many risks! 💙
