My God! This is a f**king delicacy! As poor as I am, I'd gladly pay a $1000 to be there in this room to listen to this. Talking about soul-elevating? Well There you go.
Hans Zimmer is a musical genius. You can tell that the Orchestra loves playing his songs if you look at their faces. I wished that he would have composed the music for the last two Harry Potter films.
I must of watched this 1000+ times on the At Worlds End special edition dvd growing up. Hans Zimmer is such a massive influence on me. This live performance was ingrained in my brain as a teen, and has driven me to wanna write film/tv/video game scores. Thank you, Hans.
AMAZING!! I can't imagine how 19 people could dislike this! Hans Zimmer is the best film composer of all time, in my opinion. The Gladiator Soundtrack is unbelievable!!
The best part about seeing these live shows is the look on the musicians faces. You can tell if they're having fun, deeply into it or just simply happy. It's beautiful to see someone putting their heart into something so gorgeous as music.
gotta love how this orchestra displays what men and women can achieve when they all agree to be a collective! i cant help the tear in the corner of my eye when i listen to this
NO OTHER MOVIE SCORE HITS MY EMOTIONAL STRINGS AS POTC 3 SCORE. TEARS ARE ABOUND AND SUFFICIENT. I can listen to the score with my eyes closed and tell each scene as it's played. Genius and a masterpiece.
Mal zweisprachig! Hans ist die Antwort auf moderne Klassik und ihn hier endlich mal in Aktion zu sehen und nicht nur im Studio auf Bildschirme starren, erfreut mich zusehr! And now english: Hans is modern classic in person and to see him perform his musik live is just awesome! i can only picture him looking at monitors writing.
I wish those 8:38 minutes could never end..everytime I hear it , I keep getting 8:38 minutes of constant goosebumps..just wish time would stop and those minutes would never end..candy to my ears..certainly got me flying up between the clouds..Hans Zimmer..what can I say..I'm just speechless..
Damn...that violinist is the most goregous and lucky person...her playing made me cry...I wish I could one day play for Hans Zimmer, my orchestra played a medley from POTC 3 and we were fab!
amazing music ..... and this is all! Thank you for all your Zimm music! I wish you have a nice life. Thank you from the Czech Republic. Have a nice life!
Wow the Pirates of the Caribbean has a dramatic impact on my life!! His beautiful music has helped me.from killing myself but after listening to this then I knew I had a purpose in this world to love and to make that person love me and to love l me and we gonna love a lo g live together and after die
That would be Hans Zimmer playing the guitar. In At World's End, when Jack, Barbossa, and Swann meet Jones, Will, and Beckett on the deserted island, you can hear Zimmer's electric guitar riff in the music. The actual song on the soundtrack is "Parlay." When Zimmer re-did "The Black Pearl" theme music, he added in the guitar.
Ryan McNeilly I think you will find Terji is talking about the guitarist who just seems to be swinging around in the middle (not Zimmer) who appears to literally be playing constantly even when the texture goes down to basically nothing, and still I can't hear any guitar - its almost like a "who can spot the celebrity guest who isn't actually doing anything" scenario. I may be wrong, but unless my ears and eyes deceive me, it just looks and sounds like he's doing nothing at all. In regards to "adding the guitar to the black pearl theme music" - that is simply inaccurate. You're right that it is "Parlay" - However...firstly, it's in fact Gore Verbinski the director who physically played the guitar heard on this track (their budget was running low so Zimmer simply used Verbinski for this) - Secondly, this motif/riff is based on the 'New Love Suite', which was written specifically for 'At World's End' as the main recurring theme within the movie - in other words, it has nothing to do with 'The Black Pearl' at all - the guitar riff heard is derivative of the leitmotif for the 'New Love Suite' and is there to give the scene a truly Western feel. Listen to the falling harmonica notes in 'Parlay' - compare these to the almost identical falling harmonica notes heard in the final duel from "Once upon a time in the West' (Music composed by Ennio Morricone) - Morricone is one of Zimmer's main influences, and it is a homage to him. I found that really fascinating how similar they are! Enjoy!
You can clearly hear the little scratching noise coming from the guitar player after 02:12 ... It's just another sound to enrich the background. You might not always hear individual sounds of instruments but the fact that they are still playing at the background what makes the music so damn rich...
Harrison King I think he's intentionally scraping the strings to mick the ticking sound from the music box in the movie. He's constantly scraping and it's in time and he may as well play the right cords to color the sound too. At least I hope that's what he's doing. Also, sorry for three weeks old commenting.
As much as i love Zimmer's works, i have to say its obviously not a live performance, only a few member of the orchestra can not possibly reach that sound, and this guitar playing, cmon he should have been the one who conducts or shit :D Ok maybe a few parts are live, but theres a massive playback in the background, sadly : (
Konyigery Only the guitar... but the rest aren't playing. Plus the guitarist ( not hans zimmer) isn't doing anything but strumming without volume to add "noise" he isn't actually playing along the song.
Best Metal I'm sure the people you see are actually playing, but they're definitely doing so over pre-recorded backing music, since what you hear is obviously played by a full orchestra and there's only a single euphonium and trombone in the lot... not to mention there's no conductor. :3 Idk sometimes you just don't want the nightmare of having to deal with a 100-piece orchestra, and this still sounds wonderful.
And to all those who can't stop comparing Hans Zimmer to John Williams (or other film composers): Both of them compose excellent music, they have just completely different styles. For example, I think that Howard Shore is probably the guy for atmospherical compositions, John Williams is good at subtle things and Hans Zimmer is the master of emotions. But that's just my opinion. Whatever your prefer, I'm glad for all this beautiful music these guys have brought to the world. Thank you, really.
Hans Zimmer compositions are so alive. They make me wanna cry. Especially the ones of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Pirates of the Caribbean. Just PERFECT!
what's wrong with these 19 people?! Don't they know, what beautiful music is? Hans Zimmer is a genius! I've got goosebumbs and tears in my eyes watching this... just incredibly beautiful! And he's from Germany, just like me :) Ich liebe dich, Hans Zimmer! ♥
Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End is the best soundtrack Hans Zimmer has ever written, in my opinion. Just listen to One Day and Drink Up Me Hearties and you'll know what I'm talking about. That love theme gets me every single time.
Stunning display of talent. Hans Zimmer is sheer genius, and in my opinion, the greatest composer of our day. I get chills listening to some of his pieces. Fantastic.
Ahh it's so good to see this video's still around. Throws me back to a decade ago when I would just sit in my room early in the morning listening to this on repeat :D
999k views, so very close! Also, listening to this with an earbud in my left ear and crappy mall music being ignored in the right ear truly tells me that we favor beautiful music when there’s a side-by-side comparison.
If there's one guy I'd ever like to meet it's Hans Zimmer. I absolutely adore him, and the fact that he's German like me makes it even better (just kidding ;) ). Seriously, who cares if he reuses his themes? That's one of the things I particularly enjoy about his work. For example the love theme in PotC3: depending on the situation it stands for desire, for desperation, for joy or for sorrow. Absolutely incredible.
if i could sit on the computer liking this all day i would 20 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 thumbs up thx hans zimmer

Hammer-Musik. Ganz ganz toll komponiert. Habe selten Musiker gesehen, die mit einer solchen Hingabe ein Stück vorgetragen haben.
One Day ❤ my favorite song 😍
Hands down POTC has one of the best if not the best soundtracks in movie history coz of this guy
Martin Tillman - Cello
Heitor Pereira - Guitar
Atli Orvarsson - Accordion

Anyone notice who the others are?
Hans Zimmer - electric guitar and synthesizer
Lili Haydn - Violin

For being the pure genius that he is, Hansy looks like a goofball/badass with that guitar/hanker-chef combo. Love it.
So Erik Clapton and Russel Crowe are cellist now
For me At worlds end is the best part of potc. anf "at wit's end" is the best score ever
Can someone please explain to me what that guitar player in the middle is doing..?
That would be Hans Zimmer playing the guitar.

he is fantastic super genius i'm a big fun we're lucky to have him here in london

Amplifiers man....
Best Metal No shit...I'm not talking about volume.Actually you can see how they doin nothing...1:47 just look at the guitarist come on :DD

And to all those who can't stop comparing Hans Zimmer to John Williams (or other film composers): Both of them compose excellent music, they have just completely different styles.

That is the way music should be.
If there's one guy I'd ever like to meet it's Hans Zimmer. I absolutely adore him, and the fact that he's German like me makes it even better (just kidding ;) ).
