Ruby Franke’s Husband Slaps Jodi Hildebrandt with Lawsuit for Torturing His Kids

Kevin Franke, soon-to-be-ex-husband of former RUclips mom and convicted child abuser Ruby Franke, says therapist Jodi Hildebrandt forced him to move away from his family and have no contact with them. During that time, his wife and Hildebrandt were abusing the couple’s two youngest children in an attempt to expel alleged demons. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber and Sierra Gillespie spoke with Kevin Franke’s attorney, Randy Kester, about the lawsuit’s causes of action and the hoped-for result.

There are six children, four of whom are documented in the journals as having been at Jodi's house. All four should sue, and I believe the state of Utah allows them to sue at any point from now until the statute of limitations runs out AND because they are minor children, the timer on the statute of limitations does not begin until the children turn 18.

Yes and she moved the kids without him knowing? Whose fault was that? It was his job to know where his kids were. If he had not abandoned them he would have known where they were and what was going on. What about the healing that will need to take place that their own father abandoned them? Why hasn't the mental/emotional abuse of the other two older Franke daughters been addressed? Jodi sent them periodically to her friend Pam's as house cleaning slaves. Their behavior when police showed up looking for them, was similar to what Jodi's niece Jessi detailed that she went through at Jodi's hands. The girls kept their heads down, were unable to look at police or speak with them, or even sit out front without permission from Pam's husband.
These girls have been abused also. Why hasn't their abuse and care been mentioned?
Same as the older son that was sent away to a "troubled teen" camp and had no bedroom for 7 months as punishment for pranking his brother.
And who was taking care of them? Who leaves their teenagers and moves someplace else?

Utah is really f up for failing to protect those poor children. They were abused for years EVEN before Jodi came to the picture. So many people that witnessed it on their RUclips channel reported it for years and the authorities did nothing!

He literally said that the situation was too stressful for him to tolerate, but he abandoned his children to it for a year. And even when the police were telling him about how his children were hospitalized for abuse and neglect, he never asked anything about how they were doing. All he cared about was Ruby. Not to mention him trying to have his older daughter arrested for daring to come to her own home and take some personal articles. Anyone who thinks this sorry excuse for a father should be allowed anywhere near these kids is being duped. It’s not like he wasn’t there when Ruby was abusing them before Jodi got involved. If they did they would’ve been acquitted. There’s a complex process that goes into charging crimes. If you choose the wrong one they won’t be convicted. They’re facing 30 years, they probably would’ve gotten the same amount of time either way.

After reading Ruby's journal it's clear she was doing most of the torture and was so proud of it that she had to write it down. "R told me he'd rather have a glass of water than me as a mother." A mother can't be brainwashed into sadism. All Jodi did was give Ruby the opportunity to act on her darkest impulses that she had to keep hidden to the outside world because she knows that they're unacceptable and she could lose her freedom over it if caught.

Yes my daughter wanted me to go to a therapist with her to work on our issues. The therapist was talking to her about her father and told her if you need to get something just use your womanly wiles. And her father would come around😮. I want to reach out there and check that lady if you know what I mean
@@rachelb315 This is such an important point that hasn't been talked about enough. The LDS church absolutely knew Jodi was dangerous and was recommending her to families and couples anyway because she was "committed" to the faith. This goes up much higher than Jodi and Ruby.

Have you listened to the oldest daughter give her first interview, since the convictions? She was a guest on a “liberal” Mormon based podcast. It was really hard to listen to. That poor girl has a lot of emotional/spiritual baggage to unpack. She sounds like those who are still actively participating in cults. It’s heartbreaking.

If you've watched any of their vlogs, Kevin was ALWAYS part of the decision-making process to punish the kids. At one point their eldest son made a comment about having to sleep on a bean bag for a few months because he played a prank on his brother (told him they were going to Disneyland, when they weren't). It was also shown how the kids would be denied food as punishment numerous times. Also, while all of this investigation was happening, he was actively trying to sue his eldest daughter for going into their family home and grabbing some of the childrens' items like clothes while they were hospitalized. He was also recorded on the phone call as claiming Jodi had his utmost respect, etc. He told Ruby (on the recorded call) that he would do whatever he could to gain custody of the kids. This man should be nowhere near them.
What kind of “father” goes over a year without checking up on, visiting or even talking to his children? Pathetic!
I have a hard time believing Kevin has the best interest of his children in mind as his primary objective. He may not have physically traumatized his children, but he supported many consequences that were extreme, and meant to emotionally and mentally make all the children feel isolated and alone. He didn't ask about the children's condition in a way that indicated any emotional connection or support, and during phone calls with Ruby didn't disagree that the children's condition was being exaggerated. He seemed to validate her feelings of unvalidated persecution. If he gets custody I hope CPS is involved long term, and there is court mandated counseling without a religious emphasis.
If you follow this stuff on like the 90 minute 20/20 episode where they go into detail… the Frankies were separated because Jody was their marriage counselor, and after she moved into their home with them and had Kevin banished to the couch, she was sleeping in a spare room and according to Ruby‘s journals, she was so worried about Jodi that she would go sleep in the guest room in the bed with Jody to make sure she was OK. Then the marriage counselor suggested that Kevin needed to move out no contact with his family, including children. Keep paying all the bills and if his wife wants to reach out to him then that’s fine but he cannot reach out first. If you notice when she first gets arrested, he says stuff like I’m gonna stand behind you. I’m not gonna leave you because in his mindset he had been living separate for over a year and his whole goal was to be moved back into the family home with his wife and kids. when he found out what had been happening, he filed for divorce. Jody apparently did this to her own niece years before she met the Frankies‘s and her niece also also was sent to live with her and escaped and ran away, but the police dragged her back. She could’ve been stopped before destroying the Frankie family and all of those kids. I’m telling you I think that the Mormon church they need to really look at what they are teaching on Sundays because it seems like the LDS outside of church seems to read stuff differently and I don’t just mean Ruby Frankie saying that they’re a demons in her children. Where he is guilty of all kinds of abusive behaviour towards the children, just the clips I watched included him denying youngest 2 Christmas gifts, throwing oldest sons homework away and videoing them while ill (exploitation) plus all the OTT punishments they carried out, I'm not convinced he's a fit father at all.
