The lighter fluid contains Naphtha, which is a chemical that is used for a lot of different purposes. The naphtha dissolves the glue. But as you know, this stuff is HIGHLY flameable! Anything you use to wipe the excess up with, should be disposed of properly, so anyone that smokes should take extra care. Great video and nice cars.
Thx for showing this. I have avoided buying cars with stickers on them. So now I can buy a couple cheapies and try this before do it to more expensive cars I might buy.
Lighter fluid is 100% naphtha or with 1% fragrance. Naphtha is a good solvent for grease oil and adhesives I been using it on sticker and tape residue for 30 years now. It has never let me down.
That's awesome -I think I'll wait for a nice sunny day to remove some stickers outside. While I'm waiting for the lighter fluid to work I like to use a magnifying glass to examine the detail of my cars. Kidding of course.
I don't have a card with a sticker on it, but I know that contact cleaner/switch cleaner will disolve that sticker adhesive, so I just sprayed some contact cleaner onto a Hot Wheels card and it does not affect the card or the printed card art at all.
I've been using lighter fluid for years "Goo Gone" works also. Another great trick for damaged bubbles is a blow dryer. Sometimes you can soften the plastic to remove dents. You have to be very careful or you can cause more damage. I recommend practice before taking on that expensive piece. Its very tricky to do but sometimes you get lucky. Keep up the great videos 👍
Would this method work on a plastic sega saturn case? A friend gifted me 4 games that were wrapped around with transparent masking tape, I removed the tape with my hands but there's sticky residue on the cases.
Does this also work for plastic? I mean for packages like barbies have. There are some boxes that have these tags right in the front, which is so annoying. I want to remove these without damaging the plastic underneath. But some chemicals react with the plastic. I have to find a way without scratching it or make it matte
Jump ahead to the 5:00 mark. The rest not necessary to see how to remove the sticker.
meadowlark22 THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
Omg, I wish I read your comment 1st before listening to the entire video. SIGH!

O my nice piece on the look for it myself. Thanks for the great video again. Also for the sticker removal.
you can do the same thing to mainline cards to get the blister to release with out damaging it soak the back around the edges and will will come loose
Thanks man.. worked perfectly!!
I'm curious if this works on the older 90s cards. I may give it a try and find out. Thanks for vid pj and congrats on the new piece!
Where did you get the A100 From
Where'd you get the lighter fluid from?
no smoking during this process.....thanks PJ
Try Goo Gone. It works great to remove the leftover adhesive from stickers. Dab a little on, wait a few seconds and wipe
Thanks, that was helpful
Awesomeness buddy. Wow you came up nice one bud. Im gonna try that lighter fluid...
P.J. have you thought about using Isopropyl Alcohol to remove stickers? It wouldn't be as bad to use as lighter fluid would be. Just my .02 cents.
that datsun is killer! i wilil surely use that trick to remove tags
That's a great tip thanks for sharing and awesome shirt!!!!!
just use sugar and vegetable oil and it should work the same way.

Because to a collector they are works of art.
Guide starts at 5:13
Seriously?? This was supposed to be a video about removing stickers....not about hot wheels cars.
Video starts at 5:15
I only want to know how to remove the label. Not a lecture on every thing else.
Who else here in 2022

Isopropyl alcohol, easy peasy
Way too much wasted talking to hear the instructions.
U know the videos rubbish when u have to skip the whole thing to get to the actual point of the video.
