Prototypical Abba. Sublime in every way. Writing, production, singing, melancholy yet bright. Can't get any better.

One of the best Abba videos. No need for extravagant stuff,no nudity, nothing pompous to attract attention.Apart from the fabulous song, supreme production and top quality lush recording, Frida's and Agnetha's natural beautyful faces do the rest of the job to capture you and fall for them.

Great song from a great group. ABBA has sold 400 million records. These videos were called promos from the record companies. This was before MTV and ABBA was one of the first to make videos for their songs. We are so lucky. Did you know they were 2 married couples? The blonde married the guitarist who she was hugging in the video and the red head married the pianist she was hugging. Their name is from the initials of their first names
    Agnetha blonde girl
    Bjorn guitarist
    Benny pianist
    Ani-Frid aka Frida red haired
The guys wrote all their songs and played many instruments. The girls both had fantastic voices and took turns on lead vocals but when they harmonized together it was often called ABBAS third voice. No one harmonized like Agnetha and Frida. Looking forward to more ABBA

Recorded in 1976.no1 for 5 weeks in 1977.
promo clip is from '77, low budget then but now a solid classic.4 people either in a room or 2 girls walking along a snowfield....that simple ...yet so impactful and iconic in its simplicity. And listen to these voices....there was no autotune in 1976.Arguably autotune needed ABBA.

third single (1977) taken from their fourth studio album (1976),
it can be said that it is exactly in the middle of their career (1972-1982)
but ABBA returned to the recording studios 35 years later, between 2017/2021 and released a last album "Voyage"
    solid and emotional
and they created the new concerts with motion capture, they are taking place in London since May 2022
to understand much better ABBA's musical dimension you should go to their first worldwide hit
    Waterloo (1974)
the live performance with which they won the classic Eurovision Song Contest in UK and rose to fame

The Abba promo style got heavily parodied for a time because it is very stylised and stands out for being overly melodramatic...however the parodies soon gave way to homage as they became part of the pop cultural heritage of the era. The Aussie film "Muriel's Wedding" from 1994 is a stand out of taking the Abba style to peak homage level.

Early in their career, it was more balanced between the guys and the girls, but it didn't take long for the guys to figure out the girls were the ones that shined and so the attention was placed on them fairly early in their career. I can only think of one of their hits later in their careers where the guys take the lead and that one is "Does Your Mother Know".
