The Berlin wall also fell in 89, so they were definitely prophetic with this song =D the way Agnetha sings that line always makes the hair on my arms stand up
❤yes, the vocals are very beautiful here, and the lyrics are also very touching and instructive.. just like their unofficial anthem, 'Thank you for the music', their great piece of music from 1977, but.. of their greatest hits on your playlist I can't find Abba's masterpiece 'Fernando' - I guess, people recommend you mostly Abba's rock songs, because I realized that you like that style the most (but I personally am versatile, just like Abba): if you like a more energetic rhythm, I recommend their works from the late part of their career, from the 80s: 'Lay all your love on me' 🎹and especially 'Under attack'🤖⚡ - one of my Abba favorites (I recommend the video from their performance on German TV, 1982 - the audience, as if they felt that it was one of their last performances before the band split up.. that's why - they were in a fiery mood and jumped on stage before the end of the song: you can see part of the shot where Frida brought them back) - so, 🙏🙏 please Duane, just this video performance will be as the next; here is the link: ruclips.net/video/YPqKFl8V-lw/видео.htmlsi=Zp9Xtrj4O3byBk8N Because, this TV performance is very popular with Abba fans🤩☄🌠
"What is waiting down the line in the end of '89?" Well, by then the wall had come down and my Berlin was ONE city again. I had just turned 25 back then. What chances were waiting for me! This line always gives me chills, believe me 🤗 Merry Christmas
Meri Kirihimete Duane from me here in New Zealand. You have become one of my favourite reactors since you went down the "ABBA rabbit hole". I love this song its very thought provoking. I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year for 2025. There is a great wee blooper clip for this song, a cute moment between Frida and Agnetha. I will try find and add to this. 🎉🎉🎉 ruclips.net/video/o-ThGXwWZtc/видео.htmlsi=WiauTxfkHz3rCfnD
Happy Christmas and Happy New Year 2 u, Lil!!! Hope 2025 will be better than this crazy 2024, we are already fraek out about the Covid pandemic, so I hope that in this new year we will have a more peaceful and normal life... Big hug from Argentina!!!
Merry Christmas from your fans in Australia. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you and watching you go down the Rabbit hole. Trust me there are many many more ABBA songs to discover in 2025.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁...I hope you continue the ABBA rabbit hole. Wishing you and your loved ones a brilliant Christmas and a happy and safe new year. Regards, Craig from Australia 🇦🇺🦘🪃
Agnetha has a wonderful voice. Sometimes when she's hitting high notes she gets a little harsh. In this onw she's singing totally in her range. and I think because of that its the best I've heard from her. It's just magnificent. The next best to me is her song done after Abba, The One Who Loves You Now. By the way that slightly harsh sound is part of what makes their voices together work. It sounds strange but without her pushing it, we wouldn't get the third voice. And without Frida mellowing her out we would get that sound either.

Yeah, Swedish-Nordic-germanic melancholy was an inherent part of ABBA, I would say.

Here is their Spanish language version. It’s a carbon copy video…but sing in Spanish.
