- Today we hit the Salvage Auction on a mission, buy a Widebody Dodge Challenger Hellcat or Scat Pack AND find Austin a new project car to replace his garbage can on wheels, the Juke..
I'm in the middle of the most intense rebuild of my life, restoring a completely burned out Dodge Demon and I need to buy another Dodge Challenger to donate some critical body panels, fortunately, IAA Baltimore has a few good options!
While we're cruising the lot I couldn't help but inspect a few cars that I might not NEED (Durango Hellcat & a BUSTED Challenger Hellcat) but hey... what's another project!?

As someone that has owned both.......... you are just stupid. GTO is a 5th gen Camaro with a usable back seat. Driven all three by the way. That being said rather get a G8, or a SS as having usable back seat is nicer with doors to get to it.
The Pontiac is not a piece of junk they are a weapon in Australia and worth around about $50,000 so you probably best fix that one

CS stands for "Competition Sport" in the BMW case. The hood was from an M4 GTS, but also used on the CS. Also, the seats are not ventilated.
Those GTO's here in Australia where sold as the Holden ss and hsv or Holden special vehicle clubsport and was a awesome vehicle

I love this Demon rebuild project. Also, would you be able measure the Demon front swaybar diameter like you did on the rear swaybar please? I think the PN ends in 221AB, but nowhere online can the diameter be found precisely.

That is300 is beautiful. Was one of the cars I was looking for but man those manuals are rare to find. Especially clean ones that aren’t already clapped out 💀
@ScrapLife Garage, Could you put all the logos from other dodges used to rebuild the Demon on the Demon somewhere. It would be a nice way of showing how many dodges it took to revive the Demon.

@@JoaoCaetano1197 I was thinking maybe across the spoiler or somewhere on the side of the car, or even on the dash of the passenger side. Just all depends on how many dodges it will take to revive the Demon.

The GTO/ Monaro are not junk but an Australian icon and depending on what it’s got $60-100k
That side scat pack badge on the smoke show grey challenger is a super bee or bee badge. Similar to the racing bee logo on the seats and side badge of the sublime green scat pack challenger later in this video. Also the black racing stripe across the trunk of the grey challenger is called the “Scat Pack Superbee racing stripe”. Although no bee is visible in the stripe on newer gen challengers, the old original ones had the bee integrated.

I always had great luck except for one cummins ram that needed injectors, broke valve, frame replaced and more. When it looked like it just needed a bumper and fender. Listed as run and drive of course but wouldn't start without ether.
I paid 17k for a 2019 mustang gt with 21k miles. Total came out to 23k , it isn't perfect but I'm just glad I was able to get it on the road.
I’ve never paid very much for one. Only one was over double it’s scrap price.
99 mustang gt about 13 years ago. Loaded car with leather. Most the damage was cosmetic and a buddy gave me the headlights which was the most expensive part it needed.
Drove it 7 years and sold it with a cracked head for what I paid for it.
$1500.
Total to fix it was just under $300.
4 years later I got hit in a parking lot and they paid $3200 in damage so I was well ahead then. That one cost me under $200 to fix.
Title was clean btw.

Superstock and demon are wideboys but have 4 piston brakes. Due to 18” wheels.
Those are scat pack emblems most likely aftermarket from Amazon or eBay 🤔 much love for the Hellcat unfortunately being replaced with RC cars 🤡

I don't think it's technically a law, but they do highly recommend it.

I think it's entirely possible that the sideways impact caused the belt tensioner to release tension on the belt.
When you fix the car and put the different color panels and different color cars on it you should keep them the color they came off of that would be cool

The gr86 seems like the perfect beginners drift car. Already pretty beat it already needs all the suspension stuff you'd replace for more angle and it's a low stressed low mileage car for seat time

That was a bad deal on that is300. I have a wrecked 01 diamond pearl white with a cd009 swap and jdm cloth interior I'm looking to sell for 3.5k. No front seats.
I bought an old Mercedes once. When it arrived I found the engine and frame VIN were different and the body VIN was missing. To get the title and paperwork just wasn’t worth it, so I sold it for parts.

The demon has slightly smaller breaks than the stndard widebodys for "weight" as dodge claims (like a few pounds really matters lol) and the wrecked durango had 2 red keys bc those are the only keys you get with the durango hellcats, red ones. Now mentioning it, idk if you can get a black one I should've checked when I had one however I'm sure bc hellcat but who knows maybe dodge did it on purpose!
