I started doing business with etrailer.com and have no complaints. Fast, proficient and knowledgeable. Working on a 7 by 16 toyhauler.

I actually just painted the bottom of my 6x12 trailer with a thick gloss paint. Also sprayed all the metal under the trailer with Blaster to prevent rust as well.

I put the DOT tape down both sides of my two trailers. I also put the amber reflective tape on the front and on the tongue. It’s insurance to help avoid being hit. My cargo trailer is painted on the floor. My toy hauler has gator lining. It’s hard and used on the bottom of airboats. Water sealed and tough as nails.

I love E-Trailer! I bought a new truck last month and they had some items I wanted for it. I received them in a few days with free shipping! Also, I made a dumb mistake and damaged my rear electric stabilizers on my travel trailer. I went to a couple RV parts places, and they couldn't help me. I was ready to replace the whole assembly, and found the Lippert parts I needed to make the repair. 60 bucks and a few days later, they were good as new. Congratulations on the new sponsor. Check out their website guys, they have a lot of stuff, not just trailer parts, as the name would lead you to believe.

Nice upgrade to the trailer. When I bought my cargo trailer it came with a gray water sealant but I really like the idea of doing the LineX type of liner.

I love the reflective tape. It’s overlooked by a lot of people but it’s the biggest and probably the cheapest upgrade for safety you can do. If your any reason your lights go out while driving or on the side of the road it makes your trailer extremely visible to approaching traffic. And if done right it looks really good.

I've never bought from etrailer until last night.
Wanted a drop hitch receiver that had 1 7/8 and 2" balls.

Found a triple ball that will serve my needs nicely!
    It is the Curt D900

Just a thought. I totally agree that trailer frames are generally prone to rust at every weld and coating it is a super good thing. If the floor is 2X6 under the plywood I would be concerned that moisture could get into the planks (in the areas between them) that the Armadillo spray can't get to. There is a lot of movement in plank floors on trailers. If there is any moisture in the wood the coating will peel off quite easily and quite soon. One really good use for this would be on horse trailers. Urine is a very caustic rusting agent and it quickly eats up the floors on aluminum and steel trailers. I think this would really be a good thing for them. Pull out the rubber mats when new, spray the floor and then put the rubber floors back. Great use of this product.....

I gotta say this would have really helped my trailer. Living in the rust belt the powder coating didn’t last two years. Really disappointed with my purchase and myself for not realizing I needed to do more to protect it. Good video and great advice.

At 9:40 you said close to the gulf coast I had to laugh due to I know how close Corpus Christi is to the water, it's on it. Lol. If I was you I would've went on up at least 6" to a foot on the inside of the trailer so that if you wanted to you could wash it out without the fear of wood getting wet, just a Lil idea you might want to go back later and add. Plus you said you have E-Tracks on the side walls I saw the other day on Fisher's ATV World where they put X-Tracks on their side walls so you can put the straps in sideways for pulling things tight side to side easier. The X-Tracks look more like a + than the X. Oh, I do like the fact you had the underneath sprayed, I'd love to get my 40' gooseneck equipment trailer sprayed like that, because I live in Louisiana and it stays in my pasture and gets pulled through other pastures and down a lot of grave/ dirt roads.

They still use salt here, just in the form of magnesium chloride. Bare metal still rusts very readily here as it is decently humid, and once you get eat off the Missouri, the humidity jumps. It may not be as bad as there, but it is still a big issue. You have to remember that the salt brine that gets sprayed endlessly in the winter here takes quite a while to wash away throught the summer.

If you leave metal anywhere exposed that has dew in the morning, it will flash rust overnight. I had to chuckle at your rust comments. I don't see any vehicles in your videos with holes in the fenders, rockers and so on. Here in MI if a vehicle is left untreated, you will see rust coming through the paint in 10 years of ownership. Frames will have holes you can poke your fingers through in 15 to 20 years. If a state does not use salt, they use chloride, which is worse.

That said - trailer looks NICE!

If you live down here it’s kindof obvious which place is worse for rust, you go to a gas station it’s pretty common to see a truck that has rust touching the non existent wheel wells to the top on the bed. Also a lot of the salt comes from the road but what you need to keep in mind is that it’s a slushy of dirt, road grime, ice/ snow, and lots of salt and lime that just sticks to your vehicle and even when it melt the vehicle just turns white with salt and if left unwashed it will just turn you car into a absolute rust bucket in just a few months if you leave it in a garage

That’s why paying for driving a truck in Northern states is so worth it! My mom drives a 2016 Jeep Cherokee and it has needed 4 sets of shocks, probably about 10 alignments, 2 new wheels, and a couple sets of tires. Only 54,000 miles. My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 has 140,000 miles on it, and is still on the original shocks. I get a alignment maybe twice a year, tires every 60,000 miles, and never replaced a wheel. And I have 20” wheels. Yes, I get 14 mpg at best, but the repairs even on a compact suv are far more expensive!

Come to New York, if you’re not shocked by the rust on literally everything lll personally pay your travel expenses lmao. Not trying to be rude. My dad and I actually drove to Texas and back to buy a 2006 Chevy 3500 cab and chassis because we knew it would be as clean as a whistle

I'm sure it's bad there as well. I'm specifically talking about Corpus Christi TX.

How much does it add in weight?

That's really cool. I took my GMC down to a Line-X place in town to see if they'd spray the Underside of my truck with the Line-X because honestly I like GM but their wax coat crap is pretty terrible. But they said no :( Do you think those guys you took the trailer to would? I'm not anywhere close to Texas so it probably doesn't matter but I'm just curious if anyone would even attempt it and it sounds like if they already do trailers a truck wouldn't be much of a difference.
Also, and I'm no scientist or materials engineer, but I think down there in Texas by the coast you may get a lot more surface rust, but I think up north there's a lot more Rust-through issue(s) because all that road salt or just the snow sits directly on the metal for extended periods of time and you can't always wash it off or even know it's there on some of the frame parts. Heck, most car washes close once the temperature drops below a certain point so their pipes don't freeze, so unless you have an insulated hose line at your house and you wanna be out there in -30 to 15 degrees spraying that crap off (Which it'll just freeze before drying anyway) you're pretty much screwed. But that's just my thoughts on it.

Would you recommend this application for say someone converting a cargo trailer to a [live in] travel trailer?

Yes especially as a subfloor protection. Perhaps not textured though.

Thanks for the response. I'm the 2nd person to 'like' your comment. I'm going to buy a cargo trailer and do exactly this. And travel to Corpus Christy to visit family members.

Time for a trip to the animal shelter…cats for rodent & snake control, dogs for security and coyote deterrent. A donkey is great to keep the coyotes away.
