Honda HRS536 Fail - Needs A Clutch cable replacement again

They don’t make lawn mowers that last these days. I used a Turner 4 stroke for 20 years. It just did the job as it was designed, with regular oil changes and an occasional spark plug replacement. These days the plan is to make shoddy stuff and design intermittent parts failures in order to siphon money from customers via. consumable parts. The fail is due to abrasion of the cable as it departs the housing on the handle (on an angle rather than in line) prior to going into the spring. A child could have designed a better system. Shame on Honda. Total cost on spare parts and in house service approaching ¥35000 after 7 years of use, approx 20 hours per year. Unacceptable but trapped.
As we are located deep in the Kyushu countryside I have had to learn to do a lot of maintenance myself because lawn mowers are a rarity.
