    Excellent video, Thanks! Your best tip was how to engage the tab by holding it at a 90 degree angle. I didn’t pay attention and put it on straight and it kept falling off. Thanks again!

    If you turn the mower on the side you have it, you can put the new cable threw the whole and mount it to the transmission without having to take out a single bolt..Took 20 minutes to replace mine, same mower.

    Very nice video. The only thing I would say is to maybe consider taking the blades off first thing just to reduce most of the danger in the area, even before you remove the plate.

    Great video, i got the exact machine. So, came to find, my cable was good and the clutch action is frozen. haha. So now I need a video on how to fix a frozen clutch lever at the transmission.
    I got the machine from a guy who left it outside a lot.

      @@DIYRAY hi ray I have a Honda hrg 465c1 sde I have the new cable but it's only a spring on the end that hooks to a lever on the clutch mechanism under the machine ? I can't see anywhere that holds the cable cover in place? I connected same as before but now it seems slightly long ? So doesn't engage the drive when I squeeze the lever

    • @DIYRAY

      MAke sure the cable is the right one. Maybe it was mislabeled. Do a side by side of both cables to see if they match in Length. I hope that helps. Good luck.

    OK I worked for almost an hour trying to connect the cable to the lever but had no luck. I did get my hands skinned upped pretty good though.
    So I disconnected the mongo spring from the belt tensioner and was able to flip the transmission over and connect the cable. This is not for a 90 pound weakling. That spring is strong and did not want to come off and it really did not want to go back on. It wore me out. The only precaution is that you put the belt back on the pulley it will fall off when you do this.
    Good luck to all.

    First thing the very first thing is you must disconnect the switch to the spark plug so you don't start lawnmower if you moventhe blades and end up shredded .

    I have a Hrr216TDA Harmony II mower. The clutch cable seems to work but the gearbox doesn't move. I assume the cable needs replaced. Since it doesn't move the belt doesn't tighten up so my mower can move. Is this caused by a stretched cable?

    • @DIYRAY
      @DIYRAY  Год назад

      That may be the case. You just have to troubleshoot the issue. Good luck 🍀.

      @@DIYRAY The cable seems tight. The spring at the handle bar doesn't sag like it was too long. The transmission doesn't move one iota. Never seen one act like this before.

    • @robertwilliams7745
      @robertwilliams7745 Год назад

      @@DIYRAY I tried to remove a little bit of slack that may have been in the connection. At the handle where the cable is connected via the spring I was able to pull the cable back about 1/2" by wrapping some wire around the cable in the spring so it couldn't retract after you released the handls. I thought if it was stretched this might make up for it. I don't know if I explained what I did but it was in vain. The transmission still didn't take the slack out of the belt to engage the wheels. I don't knwo what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    To get the plastic end with the 2 ear clips out of the gear housing, there is nowhere near enough room to see what you're doing, let alone snap the ears off with a screwdriver. You need some angled needle nose pliers to compress the clips, then it just slides out. Ask me how I know, 2 hours later 😂
