Another dynamite video from the Sourcing Warrior! This method brings quotes extremely fast... but now I also have 50+ emails and have started the pricing retarget in less than 24 hours. If Yuping sees this, or if anyone else knows, should I take the time to respond to all inquiries? To at least let them know I won't be accepting their offer? I don't want to lose buyer ratings.
Hi, Love your videos, but one question. I dont understand the logic of retargeting. At around 17.06 minutes the new suppliers prices are more than the first set of qoutes, 9-20 dollars, the prevous prices were between 8-12 dollars, what is the advantge when prices are on average more. Is it simply to find longer established suppliers? Thanks in advance.
After following all this good advice for the RFQ, I found out almost all quotations were not real, but a number thrown in to get you in to conversation. I am not used to this even though I was doing business in China for years. Not through Alibaba but directly dealing with the manufacturers. Now doing it online through Alibaba I noticed all these shortcomings. I wonder if it is due to Alibaba's lack of tight control of the suppliers?
I don't have the answer to your question unfortunately, but would love to know what resources you use to find manufacturers in China outside of Alibaba?
@@Chin715 Basically I did the Alibaba RFQs as you suggested, every time out of 10 replies there was max 1 or 2 potential candidates. Then I contacted those outside the Alibaba system. I still have some staff in China so I used them to check the potential suppliers. Still almost all the prices they show on Alibaba are false. So it takes a long time to agree on the price and the other matters.
@@Chin715 As you know it is difficult to find someone totally trustable for this purpose. In fact, when I was in China running that business I found out one of the factories was paying our QC Manager. He was a young guy and of course, he had to go. Then I found a middle-aged woman, very smart, knowledgeable, and cannot be bought with money, KTV, or other things... :)) My suggestion is to try to find someone through reference and networking. We do the QC inspections for the factory first and then the final inspection for the payment. The factory needs to pass our QC inspection for the payment.

Hi Yuping, although I have been doing business in China over 10 years (wasn't through Alibaba) I have been using your advice a lot lately for the new line of products we are sourcing. We decided to do both sourcing and selling online this time. Alibaba being a huge B2B site with everything but at the same time very cumbersome to to use (I am quite a computer guy). In any case I did the RFQ as you described and received some good quotations (mostly not exactly what I wanted). My problem now is I cannot find these pages on your video showing My RFQs and the quotations in a proper table format. Yes I can see them one by one by clicking on the View Quotation button but not the same tabulation. Another problem Alibaba is blocking the direct email contact with the suppliers. I have an office in Shenzhen but I am in Canada now, so I decided to talk to the manufacturers directly rather than using my sourcing manager in the Shenzhen office mainly because this new product line is different. I would appreciate if you could at least tell me where to find those tabular lists on Alibaba. Thanks very much
