I know that many products especially makeup and jewelry from China contain heavy metals and they can say their products are safe but often they lie. I want to know what do I have to do so that I won't get sued if someone gets sick from the jewelry. Do I need to pay for lab tests and test the products? Will my business insurance cover this type of issue?

private dealing always have more risk. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. Many companies don’t use Alibaba.com. Small purchases with a new supplier is generally more risky.

You need to buy some samples to the inspection company for testing, or work with qualified suppliers. CE, SGS.....
