Paint Flickign Technique. This is a take away I learned from Industrial Lights and Magic; Use a stiff toothbrush with various thinned paint/pigment/etc dragging your finger across the bristles with the toothbrush at various distances from the model. It will leave nice speckled dots and if you do this using thinned paints the effects can be made to be incredibly subtle yet create dimension on vehicle surfaces and an organic look on skin.
Thanks for the tip!!!
These are really good jobs. Well done and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
Really interesting, super effects , looking forward to giving it a try.
Have fun! Thanks for your comment
Some great techniques!
I cant wait to try them out, Thanks, Sir!
Have fun!
I like how the dry brushed metallics came out.
Thanks man. My fav way for metals
This earned a sub, love the "reverse" dry brush process!
Thanks for the sub! And the kind words!! Means a lot!! X
You make videos that are really well done and the tutorials are great for a newbie. Keep it Up !!!
Thanks so much man!! Really really means a lot!
This is exactly what ive been looking for. Been wanting to paint some grimmer/grimier grey knights, but hesitant about using streaking grime etc due to my accomodation.
Enjoy bro. I have a newer updated version coming soon
Yooo just found your channel. Thanks for the vids. This style is the way.
Thanks man!
really timely video's! I'm in the process of making myself a grimdark ultramarines army and was looking for some inspo for my bases after seeing your tutorial!
Amazing work
Thanks so much! Hope it helps 😊
Great video, thanks! One question: how do you fix pigments in the end - if you do it at all?
I don't tbh, but any pigment fixer or varnish will work.
Hello, are you planning doing a grim dark salamanders painting? Wonder to see an astartes standing in an ashen desert !
STOMP STOMP
Nice
Thanks
What model are those base toppers? Look sick, are they 3d printed?
No it’s the GW CITADEL mechanicum bases I think. They just fetch some new ones out too. ✌🏼
what makes the pigment powder stay on?
A varnish or pigment fixer
Will you Grimdark painting for each of the founding Space Marine legions/chapters?
I could, ….however I think just teaching some techniques would be much better than going through all the different chapters. As all the techniques would be the same across each miniature. It’s just the coulors that would change.
But the weathering etc would be the same. This would be a video I could definitely do 😊
Not sure if you mentioned it in the video but where did you get those bases?
Sector Mechanicus bases from GW 😊 hope that helps cheers
@@TheFeralPainter Thank you sir, I’m new to the hobby and that’s really helpful. Will watch all your videos!
