    I like that your definition of grim dark does not mean, completely devoid of saturation. So many people go grim dark and I find it to be a bit flat, because of of the lack of saturation and the only color on the model, is the weathering they use.

    I'm definitely going to be trying out this recipe on some of my models. I am curious, how do you think the skin would come out if I used GW's Chaos Black spray for the primer?

    Love this.
    I’ve finally got back into painting after a hiatus of around 29 years 😳 this channel has been a huge inspiration.
    Just working on a Primaris redemptor dreadnought, and have managed to get heat damage on the Gatling gun, some OSW on the plasma etc.
    So thanks for all your content dude 🤟🏼

      @@TarantulaRookieif you'd like a tip that you didn't ask for but was hard learned: even if you 'ruin' a mini, just move to the next one. You'd be surprised at how much better it looks that you thought, how much better they look than unpainted plastic, and how well it blends together. And if he's really wonky I just say 'oh that's just Gerald, he painted his armor the wrong color', 'amd that's Gerald's friend, Gerald, who tripped in a cat of acid.' When you're painting the minis and way up close and staring at it, the flaws are glaring and unmissable. Set him aside and then come back and see if it's as bad as you thought. Or stick him next to his mates and see if you even notice from 3 feet.

      @@christopherheintz2634 oh 100%, paralysis by analysis is a huge thing, and easy to get caught up on.
      I have one Gerald, who has recesses done completely different to all others, after going him I knew that wasn’t the way I wanted to go, and amongst the others he doesn’t notice, he just looks a little less saturated but it’s fine…. Every army needs cannon fodder 😂

    I just started with AOS or even warhammer in general, painted 9 clanrats so far from skaventide, i want to start with Maggotkin of Nurgle after i finished my skaven and have learned and improved more with painting n stuff.
    This is the paint style i want to learn! It looks so good and seems actually doable, thank you!
    Edit: if there are any other tutorials, artists, youtube channels you can recommend, i would love to hear them (gonna be binging your videos)

    So I'm curious how a 40k Ork would come out if you painted the skin similarly minus the boils and gross stuff, because just from the thumbnail my brain said that the skin had a "green" hue to it while still looking very skin like.

    Can you still do grimdark style on grey primer? I've recently just started my journey with painting minis, and my first army is Death Guard. I started with grey primer because I thought that would be the most 'neutral' color to start miniature painting, so all my Plague Marines are already primed like that. Is it still possible, or should I try to paint them with Vallejo black paint over it?

    I’m new to all this and didn’t realise the Matt or gloss varnish had an effect on the coats of paint afterwards. Is it just a slight amount? Or only for the first few thin layers?

    • @TheFeralPainter
      @TheFeralPainter  Год назад

      Yea a small amount can make a big change. But yes working in thin layers is great. Tbh u don’t need much gloss to see a difference x ☺️ hope that helps man!!
