I really love the line "humanity invented the noodle", and how it is exemplified throughout the series as the two cultures find similarity and connect through the common food of noodles, and especially how the Italian chefs are eager to try the different cooking styles in their kitchens. I think this is such a great series and I love the chefs featured.
Thank you so much for making this series! I cried towards the end when I watched it. My family is from Shanxi and I lived a few years of my childhood in Shanxi. I lived with my aunt and she made the best noodles! My aunt took care of me when I was a kid as if I was her own and showed me unconditional love. I quite literally called her my "second mother". She unfortunately passed away from breast cancer and I can never eat her noodles again. Since then, I have tried quite a few times to make the three-layer noodles (which in Chinese doesn't really mean three layered) but have never been successful. I could never figure out why or find the right mixture of flours. After watching your videos, I can finally attempt the noodles again (and hopefully succeed this time)! My love for my aunt lives on through my love for noodles. Thank you once again for highlighting Shanxi and the great noodle culture there!
It's not even important if you succeed, or your efforts are as good as your aunts ( they never will 😊). It's the memory of the person that is important. There's a soup my Czech grandmother made, which I don't even attempt, but every time my goose comes perfectly roasted out of the oven, because I do as she taught me, I'm happy and I remember. ❤
Astonishing! This is better than any celebrity random food show. It's clearly for the love of food and culture, and NOT for the sake of making content. It shows. Never stop.
you literally deserve all of the hype. the amount of work you've put into this series is incredible- the concept, the nuance of historical context, the production - just bravo. also your Chinese is wicked good lol.
This series is so wonderful, it is not only about noodles, but more importantly, about PEOPLE! I've had Shanxi noodles 2 times in the USAone in LA called Noodles Palace (i had roasted gradma/ kao lao lao), and another is in St. Louis called Corner 21 (knife shaved noodles). Both were cooked by local ShanXi people, probably from the noodle school in the video haha😄 it was sooooo good.
"They clicked because they're humans" - very true, a wholesome video that shows how culinary arts connect people from different cultural backgrounds together
A beautiful video. I used to eat hand pulled noodles and chive pocket every month back in China. Now I eat garlic eggplant pizza and seafood pasta every month. In noodle, we trust. It's amazing that Chinese and Italian cuisines share several similarities.
I wish they could have done a short interview with the kids and asked them questions about how they liked the pasta and did anything stand out about it in particular, would they prefer making pasta or chinese noodles etc etc.
Another fantastic video. Keep going, it is so much enjoyment watching you productions and at the same time learn about the country, the food and the culture.
What an amazing series. I genuinely loved every second of it. Thanks a lot for showcasing it, I specially love the phrase "Humanity invented the noodle."
I have loved this series, it must have taken a huge amount of planning, but this really reinforced the message of how food and cooking crossed borders and brings us together, the chefs both Italian and Chinese curiousity was really lovely. No pizzaaaah? Haha 😆
Man I love this series. I would literally watch hours of it and smile all the way through. It's not only wholesome but also educational, showing the different cultures but also highlighting how similar they are in some ways
I love this series so much ❤ Thank you so much for the content, it’s great to see how chefs from the East and the West interact via their area of expertise. And i love the line - humanity invented noodles. Who cares whether it was invented by the chinese or not
next trip... explore Chinese Bing 饼 (flatbreads).... (since they kept asking about pizza)... and then Chinese Bao 包子。 flour fiesta baby.... lets gooo!!!! im hungry!!!!
I would like to list some of the most influential and well-known Chinese noodle dishes, each with its own unique style. Beijing Zhajiangmian (北京炸酱面) - Noodles with soybean paste and minced pork. Shanxi Daoxiaomian (山西刀削面) - Hand-sliced noodles served in a savory broth. Shaanxi Youpomian (陕西油泼面) - Biangbiang noodles drizzled with hot oil and spices. Lanzhou Lamian (兰州拉面) - Hand-pulled beef noodles in a clear soup. Henan Huimian (河南烩面) - Braised noodles with lamb or beef. Sichuan Dandanmian (四川担担面) - Spicy noodles with minced pork and Sichuan peppercorns. Wuhan Reganmian (武汉热干面) - Hot dry noodles mixed with sesame paste. Guangxi Luosifen (广西螺蛳粉) - Rice noodles in a snail-based spicy broth. Video series featuring different countries sharing their variations of the same dish are truly amazing-they promote cultural exchange, mutual learning, and collective progress.
Dude I can’t give you enough flowers. Just A+ all around. The editing, the idea, just you being you. Some of the best, wholesome, technical, and story telling content on youtube. Its an honor to watch your videos 🙏
Would love to see a followup video with the Italian chefs to see if/how they integrated what they learned from the Chinese noodle masters into their own cooking
I finally got to watch the 3rd part!!! I have no reason for being here because noodles is not from my country but it's a beautiful exchange between two noodle cultures.
I wish there was an interview with the students, so we can hear what they think about noodles from another country as well, and how this exchange might inspire them.
Amusing, the Italian chefs are all "embonpoint " - most of their Chinese counterparts much less so. I know, it's the wonderful food in China! Great video, thanks. 😊
moving to east Europe has showed me that up to right around italy is where food stop being similar. I relate more on food with east europeans as a chinese than with the west. the flavours are not the exact same but sometimes things tasted alike.
As an asian, I do like the "myth" story though as a creative connection to cultures. Italians and Chinese both represent the fundamentals of cooking preparations, skill and care to their respective cuisines. They are able to share in the ability to bring people and family through food. It's all love ❤

Als so many combo's of cultures left te explore. Would love to see more!
I'm so glad the Italian chefs cooked for the students. I would love to hear more on the students thoughts watching the Italians chefs.
well naturally you gotta bring some chinese noodle masters to italy now and have them visit these chefs in their kitchens
it's the natural progression
These 3 specific Chef's are all from China/Surrounding areas lol, but I feel you, I bet they would make excellent tour guides for an Italian exchange!
@@PeteHoofin ah you're right i forgot they mentioned that in part 1 these chefs all work in asia

I have loved this series, it must have taken a huge amount of planning, but this really reinforced the message of how food and cooking crossed borders and brings us together, the chefs both Italian and Chinese curiousity was really lovely. No pizzaaaah? Haha 😆
I couldn't resist putting those soundbites in as much as possible.
Man I love this series. I would literally watch hours of it and smile all the way through. It's not only wholesome but also educational, showing the different cultures but also highlighting how similar they are in some ways

was fantastic , food, it's for us all to enjoy together.
This is what humanity needs not just right now but for all times.

Amusing, the Italian chefs are all "embonpoint " - most of their Chinese counterparts much less so.
I know, it's the wonderful food in China!
Great video, thanks. 😊
fantastic
Your "who invented the noodle" part was 10/10. Amazing and what made me click subscribe.
great series, love to see these content! Humanitiy invented the noodle. so true.
Who invented the noodle? I don't care. Who is gonna eat the noodle? That's me.
moving to east Europe has showed me that up to right around italy is where food stop being similar. I relate more on food with east europeans as a chinese than with the west. the flavours are not the exact same but sometimes things tasted alike.
This makes me want to go to both South Italy and Taiyuan
As an asian, I do like the "myth" story though as a creative connection to cultures. They are able to share in the ability to bring people and family through food. It's all love ❤
Man the episode is fresh off the wok
Ah.... Now it's time to make noodles at 2 am. Getting hungry now.
super cool stuff
