A task like "hold a certain town or strongpoint for x amount of time" and the place is completely random, like a clearing for a chopper lz or an ammo depot or something, and when completed, you unlock a temporary thing like accessing stash for like 30 mins from an "ammo depot" or getting a chopper pick up and lz, and rewards for completing the task and killing enemies
This game need world events like for example. A huge bandit group is coming to attack your base or there’s a shipment with good gear being moved from town to town
These ideas for the issues found in this game are really great! Especially like the LZ idea. My biggest concerns for this game is the LZ system and the working together system. They for sure need a reason to work together like xp for for helping a friend or even if you are in the same party and you are doing the same task it shares the progression between party members.
Your system with the helicopter landing, would also help the system of picking up your own body after dying, they could possibly do it so if you die at an inside an LZ zone you won't be able to fly back there if the system you suggested with deciding where to land more precisily were in effect
6:20 Like you alluded to I hope they add a feature that you can plan the flight path, as well. Nothing weirder than a helicopter pilot flying right over areas where enemies would be.
What you said about tasks with teammates is one of the things I love about CoD DMZ. Sure DMZ has it’s problems, but being able to complete tasks collectively really makes you feel like a team, and is incredibly helpful
Group progression was critical for my DMZ experience. It's difficult to fathom this new game not implementing it. If I had to guess, their current release for streamer testing just didn't have it yet.
I absolutely love the map. It's like they plucked a patch of land from Laos or Vietnam, sprinkled in the towns and gear/attire from the Myanmar conflict for the NPCs.. feels real.
18:10 you should look into a tiny game called Stalcraft i believe it has run into many of the issues that this game is experiencing and has fixed a lot of them. it is a Stalker/Tarcov game and it had unique quests and gear to each factions , live events in the world for loot that would attract players of both factions to participate in , natural and unnatural weather events that changes how you play , ways to get loot other that combat , a player led economy , etc. The reason gray zone should follow that indie game is because they have worked on in for many years and worked out the kinks the only issue their game isn't big is because it isn't visually stunning but gray zone has that so if it could implement StarCraft's other features this game could be great
@@fiat4panda206 i hope he would look back on when he played it and would take the good things from that game and give the devs those suggestions since they might actually listen
@@login4780 Don't just to conclusions i hate that game i have a lot of issues with it but they did somethings right with their unique factions, quests, and way of handling persistent 24/7 map i am hoping gray zone warfare can learn from their mistakes and that dumb grind is one of them , but if Stalcraft followed tarcov/grayzone warfare's loot system it would have been a much better game. i am hoping they learn from the good and bad in Stalcraft here. it was just a suggestion
the one thing COD did better than anyone else in the extraction shooter genre was the missions within DMZ. sure it had some fetch quests, but overall they were actually engaging.
Just one thing- if you're behind cover, being shot at from several hundred yards, the crack of the round passing you by will likely be louder than the report from the gunshot. It's been a long time but that's how I remember it. unrelated edit: at 18:15, the bush you shoot through reacts to the shots. That's pretty cool.
if the players had to clear a landing zone when they arrived at their destination, i think it would solve a ton of problems too. you could create your own LZ (almost ) anywhere. fast roping could be another mechanic to allow infil in areas that aren't good to land in, like dense jungle, over water, or on top of buildings.
For the tasking, an “assist” system might be a good middle ground. Yes you could progress solo, but if you have teammates with you, that “assist” you, maybe it could reward them either XP or hear pulled from a separate “assist reward” pool or something along those lines. i’m not a game dev so i don’t know how this would be implemented, but it’s an idea to prevent hindrance.
Yeah, the devs should implement something to deal with LZ camping. I like your suggestion of letting you pick a spot within a certain boundary. Another idea would be to allow you to shoot from the bird, or maybe cancel the landing and return to base, etc...
If enemies are too close to an extraction it def should block you being able to extract or land. This could prevent dudes from just running from a fight in a cheesy manner at an LZ, and prevent infil camping rats. They could notionally gave the pilots thermals just so you have a realistic reason
Would be cool if they implemented your idea of picking a spot inside a zone to land, and If they added the MH60 aswell, maybe make the littlebird come if you're landing in a clear spot and if you wanna land between trees the black hawk to fast rope out of into the trees?
A way to improve LZ would be to add weapons to the littlebirds like minigun etc, so that who's ok the helicopter has a big advantage conpared to those on the ground. Another could be add taxi from amoured vehicles instead which would be less predictable and visible from far away.
From what you say, maybe they should implement a "Fireteam" system. Basically you can split up the larger team into four man squad and any mission completed by the fireteam results in all members of said fireteam getting the rewards. The balance is that the other three team members are now linked to your mission menu and cannot do their own missions while on yours. This system could be useful as well in fixing the issue with the helicopter, your fireteam IC (The player who's mission you are doing) gets a military map brought up in front of their screen marked with where they can and cannot land. Only the IC can decide the specific landing zone. Also maybe they could add a circling feature to the helicopters where the team can inspect the ground before landing say if the helicopter arrives before the IC making a decision or even a divert course where you can change where the helicopter goes mid flight. Say you have a maximum of two change courses before the pilot has to head back to base.
Agree with it being a bit weird to only have Helis, but also, I don't want ground vehicles.. and have not come up with a better alternative. Your idea on the LZs is the best I've heard by a long shot.
IRL any LZ would be minimum 5 clicks from target AO. Also, 'false insertions' (2 or 3) help to throw off any enemies that may be inside combat area. That would be a sick feature.
Thanks for the honesty, Drewski. I think a lot of the systems will be fleshed out. Spawning has to, that will not fly with players. They need to work on the gameplay loop, sounds, and other systems. A game that is trying to be immersive has to tryhard in development. Also, I've seen more than one indy dev have bigger ideas than they can polish into a real game. Even more AAA's who've halfway tried and failed. So we shall see. You can clearly tell it's a passion project. That's a great sign.
I hope the devs listen to people like you & others & fix these things to make this game perfect! It looks super awesome can’t wait for it to be open to everyone
World Events would be great actually they could do bosses with that and maybe some areas could be blown up or have timers on explosives people could team up and clear out the place to get to the defuser etc. maybe a Supply Drop can drop in and have a few AI protecting it stuff like that would be amazing! (its early access tbh i expect those kinda things to come eventually, as its quite a easy and obvious content additions) and also being able to choose your LZ like you said sorta like Helldivers would be sick..... (not exactly tho as you shouldnt be able to spawn inside a building, only outside in the jungle etc) excited to see what they do with it tho in the future, as right now its really early access like for instance the running/jumping feels like Call of Duty arcade-ish and not smooth/realistic-ish like Tarkov/Extraction Shooters
The mosin scope being off is actually historically accurate. I'm actually amazed they put that in the game. It's off because it was zeroed with the bayonet on which changes the point of impact
I like how Drewski is holding this pre alpha build to the wildest fantasies of some jungle mil sim game he's got in his head with non-existent audio tech.
I really hope the devs catch wind of these ideas. I totally dug the analyses and can't wait to dive into playing this game, whether it's halfway done or fully polished. I'm totally down to play, report bugs, and hang tight for its full release. Even if it takes a while, I'm cool with seeing it evolve over time while still getting to have some fun with it during its development phase. Cheers
16:06 Those were some crazy good flight skills, the squad you were picking up mustve been freaking out watching you pull in 😂. I wonder how hard the flight is in that game and how long it took you to achieve those skills.
One solution to the IFF issue could be faction patches. Each team has a different patch on their shoulder, in the sput that US uniforms have the flag on them. It's not a perfect fix but it keeps immersion while also providing an IFF solution
I want to see this succeed, hope they find a groove, finding solutions to all the feedback I've seen in reviews. Like you compared with them specific Arma/BF, just more lore and objectives. Could see this in a Squad/PS/HLL maps, deploy as a squad (helo/parachute/truck), do things for your team as a squad, in a long running server, find personal progression, extract back to HQ.
I will be excitedly awaiting light vehicles with teammates and running our own small convoys in an out of towns. The possibilities here are endless, I hope they succeed in making it come true.
Or they just build a feature that you can direct the little bird to anywhere. And the way you exit changed, based on whether or not it can actually land. And if it can't, you can instead fast rope out. That way it could drop you in the middle of a forest or on a mountain ledge.
I've been calling for a ever-ongoing "extraction" map/server like game since early BF days, no one has quite implemented the concept yet, but it's only a question of time because it is close to what an actual area or zone of "conflict/war" et cetera would work like. The concept will prob work the best for "catastrophe" environments, like some sort of fallout or stalker setting.

Agreed 100% with your take on this game's current issues. You offered some solid solutions, however I doubt they'll make the changes we hope for because I'm sure redesigning the task system is not in their interests at this point. Thanks to drewski for taking it as what it is,, other streamers hype it so much and even title their video as the tarkov killer or something
This game need world events like for example. A huge bandit group is coming to attack your base or there’s a shipment with good gear being moved from town to town
I HAD A NC STAR ON MY KSG WHEN I FIRST GOT IT! The thing lasted a year, died, then started working 3 days later. I call it the Jesus red dot now.
With "Unheard" Edition dropping on Tarkov here I am looking for new games
the huge early access barebones graphical test streamer only gameplay we've been waiting for
These ideas for the issues found in this game are really great!
The reason gray zone should follow that indie game is because they have worked on in for many years and worked out the kinks the only issue their game isn't big is because it isn't visually stunning but gray zone has that so if it could implement StarCraft's other features this game could be great
drewski actually has a vid on stalcraft, worth checking out
@@fiat4panda206 i hope he would look back on when he played it and would take the good things from that game and give the devs those suggestions since they might actually listen
@@RLXxEpic agreed, stalcraft has some nice things going for it
@RLXxEpic Stalcraft the Grinding simulator game?U clearly are a Russian fan boy of that game lol
"far from it" 5 days later its released lol I hope it goes smoothly
Just one thing- if you're behind cover, being shot at from several hundred yards, the crack of the round passing you by will likely be louder than the report from the gunshot. It's been a long time but that's how I remember it.
unrelated edit: at 18:15, the bush you shoot through reacts to the shots. That's pretty cool.
I think Quad bikes / Cheap pickups are a must for this game.
Your LZ idea is spot on, only to say you should also have the option of fast roping from the heli so you can drop into wooded areas also
Guess this will be my new extraction shooter after the Unheard Edition debacle with EFT
Love your take on picking exact Landing Zone. I hope they implement something like that!
The ambient Halo 2 music from Delta Halo mission is literally chilling how nostalgic it hit me after I realized, IS THAT HALO!!??
I would definitely play this game when its actually... playable
if the players had to clear a landing zone when they arrived at their destination, i think it would solve a ton of problems too. you could create your own LZ (almost ) anywhere. fast roping could be another mechanic to allow infil in areas that aren't good to land in, like dense jungle, over water, or on top of buildings.
thank you for the constant 10/10 uploads drew!
Almost at 2 mil dreski!!! feels like just yesterday you hit 500k.. You deserve it! love your videos.
YESSS. I've been waiting for this vid from you! Only person who's opinion I'll take seriously, personally. Much love Drewski
You provided a potential fix for almost all, if not all, of the issues you pointed out. Atta boy, definitely going to sub. 👏
Looks good. Especially your character with a broken arm. Realism wont cease to amaze me.
Would be cool if they implemented your idea of picking a spot inside a zone to land, and If they added the MH60 aswell, maybe make the littlebird come if you're landing in a clear spot and if you wanna land between trees the black hawk to fast rope out of into the trees?
Great video, have you heard about nuclear option ??
Great airplane fight simulator.
Not as hard as DCS
Once again, absolutely invaluable feedback! REALLY hoping they listen to it, as this is the game I've been most excited for in years
A way to improve LZ would be to add weapons to the littlebirds like minigun etc, so that who's ok the helicopter has a big advantage conpared to those on the ground.
2003 Vietcong, loved that game. Calling in an airstrike was so cool back then.
you really make the topics come alive, thanks for your passion!
Agree with it being a bit weird to only have Helis, but also, I don't want ground vehicles.. and have not come up with a better alternative. Your idea on the LZs is the best I've heard by a long shot.
2:32 I did not expect that name to ever be uttered in a Drewski video, literal jumpscare
verbal nine-banger
FR as someone who got up to rank 402 on Phantom Forces, I literally never thought I'd hear this from Drewski or any other large RUclipsr I watch.
@@MistahSoul honestly I still play it occasionally for nostalgia and it’s just as god as I remember
Jeeps, bikes, and other vehicles would be so fun
With BSG implosing today, this just became a BIG game drop, not just a conpettitive entry.
(not exactly tho as you shouldnt be able to spawn inside a building, only outside in the jungle etc)
excited to see what they do with it tho in the future, as right now its really early access
like for instance the running/jumping feels like Call of Duty arcade-ish and not smooth/realistic-ish like Tarkov/Extraction Shooters
Video six of telling drewski I edge to his videos
I edge to your videos.
Keep going: you may yet achieve satisfaction.
Drew, you led me to Tarkov and that was years ago and to this day you are the best team commander I have seen.
One solution to the IFF issue could be faction patches. Each team has a different patch on their shoulder, in the sput that US uniforms have the flag on them. It's not a perfect fix but it keeps immersion while also providing an IFF solution
I think I'll probably wait to play this game and save myself the headache.
And I have faith they will add most if not all of these QoL improvements. It’s still incredibly early
This is solid feedback. Hope the Devs take note.
I will be excitedly awaiting light vehicles with teammates and running our own small convoys in an out of towns. The possibilities here are endless, I hope they succeed in making it come true.
Now of only we had a single-player game like this with competing factions on the map would be amazing but this is still great obviously
I always loved games from Madfinger games (the devs), even tho most of them were only on mobile phones, partialy because its a studio from my little country, but the step they made from small mobile games studio to studio developing games this huge is just unbelievable. Its just absolutely amazing, huge s/o to the madfinger games
The heli feature is something the next Ghost Recon for sure needs haha. That would be so sick!
Look at all those trails... add armored transport trucks that can drop off or pickup anywhere along a road.
This game has so much potential to be crazy immersive, especially in PvE.
Agreed 100% with your take on this game's current issues. You offered some solid solutions, however I doubt they'll make the changes we hope for because I'm sure redesigning the task system is not in their interests at this point. I don't even play Tarkov anymore for the same reasons you brought up in the video.
Arma reforger with the sound mod is actually pretty good, there is a few kinks for sure but overall it’s better than most!
This fun alpha footage the same week as Tarkov's new shot in their own foot is such a blow to BSG
the little birds should be accompanied by a gunship that at first suppresses any close enemies further killing them if they dont vacate the LZ
YOU MISSED THE SHOT! his head was moving to the left and he flinched!
2:13 Haha I bought an NCStar red dot like 15 years ago and still run it on the RPK. has a lifetime warranty as well as long as ncstar stays in business
