Awww, love this! We feed all the animals too, including deer, squirrels, birds, sandhill cranes, ducks, including a one legged duck that my husband worries about if he doesn't come for his food. All wonderful creatures. We don't deserve them. They are better than people.

I enjoy watching these funny little creatures.We always feed our squirrels, even when we go on vacatiion, and our petsitter who watches our two dogs and our cat has to always make sure our squirrels and birds are fed, so no one goes hungry while we’re gone.

It's always such a mixed feeling to see squirrels get more skittish, on one hand, good, it will help them live longer, on the other, awwww I wanted them to be my friends!
I had a little squirrel buddy who'd freely let himself be touched and would climb up on me or enter my room, but as they grew older they started keeping a greater distance :(

I wonder if something happened earlier to ruffle Splitty’s tail fluff? In the last video he featured in he seemed a lot calmer with the others being around. True, he is starting to look a bit threadbare around the edges, but I guess being Alpha must be a pretty stressful job when there are so many competitors around.
Raggy looks like he’s been studying the chipmunks & wants to try out their cheek stuffing technique! Not the first squirrel to have eyes (or a stomach) bigger than its mouth, but you’ve got to admire his effort, even if the results were a bit of a mess…
The best thing is that whatever stage they’re at & whatever their style or social standing, they’ve all got the very best window human looking out for them & making sure they get all the support & nutrition they could possibly ever need to be the best squirrels they can be 👍🏻🤗♥️🥜🐿

Raggy’s coat looks better than the last time I saw him
Looks like Raggy spotted the exact nut he wanted and went for it with determination; sadly he wasn't too worried about making a mess. (I'll pretend he wasn't trying to take several more too😂) Baby squirrel does look beautifully plump and will settle down again with a few more visits to you. Dear Splitty is enjoying his alpha status - not sure the others are😄

My grey had two babies, they've already learned my call and like their mother come running for nuts, they aren't quite used to me yet but they are progressing quickly, I might be able to name them as I think they have some differences I can spot. My chipmunk is back after a week and a half hiatus to have a late litter, hopefully I'll get to meet one of her babies soon. One problem with having a call for the squirrels is the Black Birds, Grackles and, Blue Jays have also learned the call so it can be quite the zoo within minutes.

It is their instinct to have to protect themselves and to shun all possible dangers. That's the way of nature. But it is also part of the babies' growing up process in learning who and what they can trust and love! They will learn to trust and love you, who care so much for them!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Today I saw that Splitty's ear is cut, it seems like he had a fight with someone. However, it could also be a design on the ear, and I might be mistaken.
That's where his name came from his 'spilt' ear.
