Squirrels are actually very cautious animals. Always looking out for things that could pose a serious danger to them. They need to be cautious all of the time because of how small & vulnerable they are. Squirrels are NOT exactly fighting animals like lions or tigers. But they are still very adorable creatures❤
I throw out leftovers for "my" squirrels too! I've been feeding that pack of rascals for over 20 years and have not only squirrels but songbirds, possums raccoons flying squirrels, even a crow that guards my house and yard and yells until strangers (human and animal) leave. My neighbor didn't understand it when I told Scout "it's ok, he's welcome here", he asked " what's his problem, he sees me across the road in my own yard too?!" I told him Scout wasn't used to seeing him in MY yard and took exception to it. My neighbor (from another country), shook his head and laughed. Animals have personalities and loyalties too!
I’m curious if the new squirrel became a regular. She sure looked comfortable there and very happy with the menu! I see some comments about naming her Dora. I remember a Dora in other videos. Maybe later ones? Did you name her Dora?

I am amazed at how you can tell these squirrels apart. 😮 Coconut is very good for them, and considered a fruit. The coconut oil definitely helps the squirrel's coat/fur.
What a peaceful, happy video! I love how you repurposed the donuts. And how your squirrels take a quick look at you before they jump down with some food. Your camera shows us so well their adorable chewing motions - i can’t see the details so well in my own squirrels, who are always further away. I had a fun encounter with another shopper at Costco today - we were both inspecting the bags of nuts (walnuts, almonds, pecans.) I asked him if he feeds squirrels too. He does, and he loves to see them all around his yard - but he couldn’t believe i give mine the expensive pecans! I said i eat some of the pecans myself - the squirrels get walnuts and almonds mostly, and about half as many pecans. Plus some other stuff i order from Amazon. It’s always great to meet another squirrel lover!
