    As a Husky fan I rooted for John Ross who played for Washington’s CFP team. He was a good college receiver with that speed, but good god he was about 150lbs soaking wet. He wowed everybody at the combine but he couldn’t stay healthy and got beat up by bigger pros. I was honestly surprised he went so high in the draft. He made some great plays but he was more of a home run hitter than a great multi purpose receiver.
    I remember Cooper Cupp very well. Washington would schedule Eastern Washington early in the season for an easy win and tune up. He was unbelievable. We couldn’t cover him. He was every where and probably the best player on the field and we had some pretty good DBs back then.

    JuJu Smith-Schuster has to be one of the weirdest cases for a player being at his best when he's not the star. His worst season was the year directly after Antonio Brown left the Steelers, but that also came with Big Ben being injured that season and him having Mason Rudolph as his QB for a majority of the season. Rudolph still occasionally had sparks of competence while JuJu did not show much of a season. By the time he went to the Chiefs I thought he was a guy who could not be a #1 receiver and completely tanked as it, considering his only 1k yard season was as the #2 to Antonio Brown who constantly stole extra attention. But his next season with Big Ben was cut short with a shoulder injury, and they had Diontae Johnson+Chase Claypool who were playing well so they let JuJu walk. Signing with the Chiefs showed a regular season of doing well but a playoff season of... honestly not being notable. In the AFC playoffs he had 3 receptions between the divisional round and the championship round, then in the Super Bowl he got plenty of receptions, but couldn't be hit in the End Zone. Now I'd have to rewatch that Super Bowl to see why others were just better TD targets in order to truly see it.
    His career has truly been he's #2 at best, but his bad seasons can be blamed on other circumstances, whether it be injury or the lack of good QB play, or both in the case of 2023. As of right now his contract is 2 more years with the Patriots, it may be fascinating to see if he can come back from his injury and play a full season, and if he does will he finally emerge as a #1 with Brissett+Maye or will he continue to play second/third fiddle to 1-2 of Bourne/Douglas/the Rookie Polk.

    Love the content, but you might be a bit too harsh on John Ross. Yeah he is a bust, but maybe the biggest of all time? I would put Kevin White as a bigger bust and that is just of recent WRs. Also, like someone else said, Curtis Samuel is with Buffalo.

    • @alexanderovercash315
      @alexanderovercash315 2 месяца назад +3

      Great call out on White. Drafted with the 7th overall pick and had less than 400 rec yards for his career. John Ross may have just been a bigger “disappointment “ because of the record set at the combine.

    • @WhoPeedMyPants
      @WhoPeedMyPants 2 месяца назад

      @@alexanderovercash315 That is possible. I remember telling a friend who is an Eagles fan that they could possibly get John Ross in the 2nd round as a field stretcher to replace DeSean Jackson with a similar speed and role. He runs that 40 and boom, he is being talked about as a top 10 pick. Actually that would make a good video for @ScottFisherCFB the top bust that were evaluated by the combine. Where they were originally project then where they went after having a great combine. Or the top 20 fastest 40 times in combine history and how they panned out(almost all of them did nothing as 40 time might be the most overrated metric)

    • @wicklebee

      The fact that we can forget about Amara Darboh says it's definitely Dee. Darboh was never meant to be more than the #3 and just became part of a group of duds competing for that #3 spot. Dee Eskeridge had PR AND was meant to be this speed guy that could take a deep ball after DK draws over the FS, and he never showed up as any level of relevence+off-field issues.
