    Awesome video! I’m here after watching the 58 jigging rap tips. I learn a lot from you and Al, you both have a way of teaching that’s easy to understand and fun.

    Bass Pro make a great 7'6" medium light spinning rod called the Prodigy Walleye. Works great for crappies also when pitching jigs. Great video, Thanks.

    I've hooked into Walleye many times while dropshotting...often I've found that setting the rod in a rod holder and dragging it 30-50 ft behind the boat while drifting picks them right up (I guess you could call that "trolling with a dropshot rig"). I tend to use plastics whacky rigged on the dropshot hook because nightcrawlers leave mud and guts all over the boat, which pisses off the wife (she can't stand a dirty boat)!

    nose hooking BIG minnows and using a stinger hook works good if they want bigger baits in fall. .

    Why pinch off part of the crawler?

    • @TargetWalleye
      @TargetWalleye Год назад

      The crawler will stretch out significantly once in the water...it gets wrapped up and occasionally fouls by re-hooking itself when not pinched shorter. So it fishes WAY cleaner. And then I also land way more fish that bite. When it's super long they'll sometimes just grab the back half of the bait, but when pinched I'd say I hook-up with 9/10 walleyes that bite.

    If your looking for the best rods on earth, look up Kraemer Custom Rods and give Erik a call and get your rod built the way YOU want it. I have a 7’6” med-light xtra fast in my arsenal. Tight lines!

    I'd consider this, but where I fish it's gobies galore. I lose so much crawlers to gobies.

    Will this work on eyes in ky when the water temps are very warm

    • @JustSomeGuy641
      @JustSomeGuy641 2 года назад +1

      Once water gets upper 70s and beyond dropshot is a killer option for eyes. I add a few floating beads below the hook and also use the vmc spin hooks bell sinker and your good to go. Try going heavier and staying straight verticle if you have a slow drift. Tight lines!

    One question, why would you get more bites with a lighter weight?

    • @blaahster
      @blaahster 2 года назад +1

      Less resistance on the line, fish will hold the bait longer
