The original composition was written by Mirabai, she was a 16th-century Hindu mystic poet and devotee of Krishna. It was first played by legendary Pakistani singer-songwriter Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan during his first visit to India in 1979 and rewritten by Portuguese Guitarist Andre Antunes and Indian singer Shan Padman in 2023
