i tell you how our Rishis knew these things. In Sanatan dharm, you can gain knowledge by connecting with Shiva, Krishna or Sakthi by Dhyan and sadhana. Where we can see and learn everything inside us. thats why in Sanatan dharm we say Universe is also inside you. Your soul is also connected with directly Shiva, Krishna or Sakthi. Once you connect with your soul you connect with Shiva and find out all the answers. In past these Rishis use to live for thousands of years as they learnt to control their ages with Yog.

Recently lord shiva idol carbon dated to be 28000 years old was found in Nepal. Shiva is a hindu god, so hinduism is at least 28000 years old (and not just 4000 years old). Also since nepal was part of ancient India/bharat, so bharat/India, is at least 28000 years old.

We Hindus created the Vedas when people lived in caves. Ancient Indians did not feel the need to write down the knowledge they acquired. They used to listen to what the teacher said and remember everything. This is why Rikveda, the world's oldest book, is called 'Shruti' (hearing and remembering).

Mahabharata is the longest poem in the world and Bhagavad Gita is a small part of it but its Spiritualy packed. The context of the story is very important as well, the story of Kuru dynasty and how they are starting the war among the cousins for the throne etc.

Growing up as Hindu and studying in Catholic school whole life and currently residing is islamic country. I am mesmerized by the immense knowledge that Hindu scriptures have. I know so many others defame hinduism by mixing cultural activities with books or scriptures itself but we as hindu know that even if it is there it doesn’t matter to us because the very first book itself have clearly and also many times in different books written that only facts can prove this wrong, which means it can be changed if proven wrong by science. Even every books have different explanation. Like for some Shiva is our consciousness while for some it is that Yogi who started Yoga. So it is sooo deep that those who are bought up in straight foundation where there is god and his creation, it will be difficult to understand and i can understand many hindus trying hard to explain in such a way that they understand and miss out so many things. For example worshipping idols and Brahman so on.Idols are not the God itself but the form of god and we human being are not able to understand god so we pray to idols or god manifestation. Example we talk about alien but it is true that if we see alien we would shit out pants or have a heart attack. Imagine seeing God. That is why lord Krishna described in Gita. Here lastly i am not defaming others religion i am happy that you choose your way and we choose our bcoz in the end we are told that there are different way to reach to god. Sushruta also known as father of modern plastic surgery, wrote a book with the knowledge of Dhanwantari. That book is called Mrit Sanjivni which has the secret formula to resurrect a dead person. This is real and historians got evidences of the book, the book was written many thousands of years ago in the Satt Yug. Sushruta knew to do plastic surgery back in 800 BC. Many western scholars and scientists such as carl sagan , alan watts etc. have deeply studied hinduism and found it to be a close analog of modern science and comsmology . Hindu texts are an ocean of knowledge unlike abrahmic faiths which discourage asking questions .
"Hinduism" is a name coined by westerners. It's actually Sanathana Dharma (the everlasting code of conduct). Within this there are many belief systems and each may prefer some deities over others. Even Atheists were accepted. You've begun a journey of expanding your mental horizons. Just wanted to correct you, Hinduism is dated back to 30 thousand some years old. 4000 is based on the oldest scripts they found. The surviving script/scriptures. An old Shiva idol was found in Nepal which is carbon dated back to 28.5 thousand years ago.

One thing to remember when reading description of how the different universes emanate from Mahavishnu (greater form of Vishnu) lying in the cosmic "ocean", showing as a giant humanoid form with 4 hands and eyes closed, is that this is used to help us relate to what we can see on earth. It doesn't literally mean that a giant being that looks like a human but with 4 hands is floating in some literal water like ocean. The ocean word is used to relate to the vastness of the multiverse. I think of it as roughly larger space time fabric where different bubble universe emanates. Pretty similar to String theory / M theory that predicts bubble universes in a larger multiverse which is outside the 3 spatial dimensions and 1 dimension of time that we experience. Also the image of Mahavishu "sleeping" is to symbolize that these universes are "dreamt" up by Mahavishnu. This material world of bubble universes is often called "maya" or illusion. Pretty similar to the simulation theory which states that we live in a simulated universe which is not real. If you have watched the movie Inception, you can relate to the "dream within a dream" analogy.

During the time when India was ruled by the British for 200 years countless amount of books , knowledge of the past and our history was burnt and destroyed by the British which is one of the reasons India does not have the same amount of knowledge as it originally had .
The fire that destroyed the books burned 6 months. So there were many many books with all information about life and how you have to be a good human. Humble, respect. We Hindus created the Vedas when people lived in caves. Ancient Indians did not feel the need to write down the knowledge they acquired. They used to listen to what the teacher said and remember everything. This is why Rikveda, the world's oldest book, is called 'Shruti' (hearing and remembering).

Growing up as Hindu and studying in Catholic school whole life and currently residing is islamic country. I am mesmerized by the immense knowledge that Hindu scriptures have. I know so many others defame hinduism by mixing cultural activities with books or scriptures itself but we as hindu know that even if it is there it doesn’t matter to us because the very first book itself have clearly and also many times in different books written that only facts can prove this wrong, which means it can be changed if proven wrong by science. "Hinduism" is a name coined by westerners. It's actually Sanathana Dharma (the everlasting code of conduct). Within this there are many belief systems and each may prefer some deities over others. Even Atheists were accepted.
You've begun a journey of expanding your mental horizons. The knowledge in Sanathana Dharma is very vast and would take several lifetimes to grasp even 10% of it's lessons, and yet you're onto a good start. Keep it up!

Actually it was the wooden box it was in that they carbon dated. You cannot carbon date rock. Just because the container is 30k years old does not mean its contents are also 30k years old lol

Good video. One thing to remember when reading description of how the different universes emanate from Mahavishnu (greater form of Vishnu) lying in the cosmic "ocean", showing as a giant humanoid form with 4 hands and eyes closed, is that this is used to help us relate to what we can see on earth. It doesn't literally mean that a giant being that looks like a human but with 4 hands is floating in some literal water like ocean. The ocean word is used to relate to the vastness of the multiverse. I think of it as roughly larger space time fabric where different bubble universe emanates. Pretty similar to String theory / M theory that predicts bubble universes in a larger multiverse which is outside the 3 spatial dimensions and 1 dimension of time that we experience.
Also the image of Mahavishu "sleeping" is to symbolize that these universes are "dreamt" up by Mahavishnu. This material world of bubble universes is often called "maya" or illusion. Pretty similar to the simulation theory which states that we live in a simulated universe which is not real. If you have watched the movie Inception, you can relate to the "dream within a dream" analogy.
In Hinduism, there is not one set of beliefs but allowing our intelligence to keep searching for the Truth.
