The comments around MixPre-3 and MixPre-6 not generating timecode was only an issue with the Mark I versions. The MixPre-3 II and the MixPre-6 II both have internal timecode generators that are top notch and can be used for master clock on set. I've been using my older MixPre3-ii for several years now as master clock and jamming Tentacle Sync Boxes to them.
The solution to wireless problems is a personal data recorder (PDR) like the Tascam DR 10L. This allows one to record from a lav onto a small PRD that is attached to the belt or URSA wrap. No dropped signals, no static, just clean sound. The Pro verson allows you to monitor the volume, et cetera, via bluetooth.
Great info, I'm in a similar position and was wondering about using V-mounts. I'm fully invested in TCS with 2 USOs, 3 AtomX Syncs, F8n and I just got the F2 BT.
I've never had a chance to play with the ktek bag, so I can't say for sure on that. One of my reasons for getting this bag was the suspension system that is made for it, allowing me to wear it on my chest when I operate a boom mic.
Would you prefer different songs throughout, or absolutely no songs at all in a tutorial / gear review ? When I consume RUclips content, I see a mixture of styles, but I don't necessarily have one I favor. Thanks for taking the time to comment - I appreciate that much more than an anonymous thumbs down on a video. I'd rather learn to improve, than sit and wonder. ;)
@@VerticalScaleMedia if you want put a little music at the start and end, but when explaining have no music. It is distracting and most stock music is annoying! But still so many people use it
@@VerticalScaleMedia I always say: only add something if it adds something. In your example, background music doesn't really add anything, so in my opinion just leave it out. Just a nice opening at the beginning and possibly a closing at the end. That's enough.
Nice tour, Jason!

Thanks for clarifying that, and for taking the time to leave the comment.
I switched to Ktek and never looked back. Ktek bags are a lot shorter in height therefore sits closer to your body. This helps your back alot.
But no suspension system ?
Also k-tek fits the lav receivers much more snug right ?

Good work Jason! I appreciate how you explain the reasoning behind your choices, in a straight forward, clear, concise and accesible way. Thank you!
Thank you, Diego. Glad you found some benefit! Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice walkthrough, nice (and reasonable) kit!
😂 yes!
Thanks for the tour!

That's awesome, I love how simple Timecode Systems made syncing to the Atomos recorders. Thanks for checking out the video!
Great video! And a nice kit 😊
what does this have over the k tek bag?

@@VerticalScaleMedia the k tek seems to fit the lav receivers much more snug with less play than this one appears to have .
Why choose AW band and not G Band? This is my current dilemma

Great explanation. But please turn off that background music. Unnecessary and very distracting. 19 minutes long the same repeating song... :-(

Yeah, no music.
