Hey everyone! If you have ever struggled taking photos as an on location photographer when the weather is not quite on your side, then today I am sharing with you a couple of different continuous lighting setups you can use for your portrait photography to fix that. I am sharing some simple lighting setups as well as a few creative ones - let me know what you think! Do you ever use lighting on location?

That's a nice overview, you really showcased why and how it was different. The fact that you also showcased different ways to utilize the light outdoors on a gloomy day makes it helpful.
This video was so helpful! I’m a continuous lighting newbie because I mostly shoot outdoors & only get to play around with different lights when I occasionally shoot in a studio. This definitely made me feel super inspired to get creative with different lighting solutions outside!

What a beautiful idea. In the old days people brought reflectors along even at cloudy days to lift shadows or darken other areas of the subject.

How long will one of these lights last at 100% power on a full battery?
Battery life of 45 minutes at maximum power and 75 minutes in ECO mode.@@Chrsly

Thanks for this beautiful video. This gave me idea to take portable light with me for my portrait shootings. Do you prefer Zhiyun or Smallrig? Zhiyun has recently released Molus series portable lights.

I love the portability and weight of the lights. I am wondering about having more options when it comes to softboxes and maybe an adadpter to make the standard Bowens mount an option for people that already have softboxes from other brands.
Maybe printing an adapter is the way to go. A PLA print should be fairly dependable as a portable softbox shouldn't be too heavy.

No, it's seperate. It's called the RA-D30 mini Parabolic Softbox and it's coming soon

Where to buy those tripods for cob light?
Unfortunately I haven't seen them available in years, I bought them almost a decade ago!
obviously they can only be used outdoors if there is no sun or after sunset, otherwise they can't compensate for the sunlight like you would with a flash, right?
How do you take self portraits with Sony cameras?
I have my phone connected to it which is on the floor so I can see what I'm shooting. You can either use your phone to take photos, otherwise I have the Sony bluetooth remote control that I was using to press the shutter. I find it's easier to hide the remote than it is a phone!
Do you know if that's a Bowens mount? It looks smaller...

I guess a flash would last longer. Don't the batteries run out on an entire wedding day ?
Or you could just turn around to the direction of the sunlight through the clouds. You should be able to find the direction by holding up your hand and seeing which direction the natural light is coming from.
If I turn around, I have houses in the background. I find that even if you do face a different direction, you will still have some shadows underneath the eyebrows and the eyes don't stand out as much in glare-y weather. I really love using natural light, but it just doesn't always work.
The light is still flat 🤷
