When my father first saw a B-707 jet in 1962 he said "It's like the liner 'Queen Mary' of aviation". We boarded it and traveled JFK (then called Idlewild) - London in 6h30m. Truly the jet aircraft changed the world.

Was just thinking how ridiculous it is - Air Force One PLUS AF - 2? Plus all the other craft they flew in! What a total waste of taxpayers money. Also watching from New Zealand.
The first aircraft is a B777-200 but does not appear in FlightRadar database.
I am sure the first is true for the VC-25.
The US 757 isn't Air force two. It's a SAM call sign, and is a backup aeroplane for short hops for the US president, or the first lady. If the first lady uses it, it will be 'Executive One Foxtrot'. Which is the first family call sign, without the president on board. There will be a second US backup, but that probably arrived with the 2 C-17 Globe Masters & the C5 Galaxy aeroplane. That is a 747, better known as 'The Doomsday plane'.

Not VIP 757 (AF2🙄) See: aircraft, C-2B Gatekeeper. Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST) is an interagency task force of the United States government
The backup plane is not the "Doomsday" plane. It is simply an exact replica of the plane known as AF1. In most cases, the backup plane flies directly behind AF1. What good is a backup plane if it is not there. If no record of that plane is found for this trip, then the 757 may be acting in that capacity. . It doesn't fly empty. It carries security personnel and other aides not deemed necessary in case of national emergency.
@@milou8934 . Air Force Two is the air traffic control sign for the Vice president. They're in Washington DC at present. Plus, only one set of advanced aeroplanes arrived. If they were here, there would've been two sets.
Don't forget President Trump, when in office, frequently used the 757's as air force one. Especially when Angel maintenance was required.

If airforce 2 is there that means the vp is there, it doesn't have that designation unless the vp is on board, it is my belief that the plane is there as the backup, not actually as airforce 2
