I prefer the actual electric version to this song, it shows Layne's vocal power. Little history to this song, it actually written about Andrew Wood, lead singer for Mother Love Bone, who unfortunately OD'd right before their first album was released. The remaining members ended up forming Pearl Jam

Layne was an absolute vocal powerhouse and even on the unplugged videos he had a great voice but unfortunately by this time but was somewhat losing the energy and power due to his addictions.
Layne and Jerry were so sick from withdrawing during this performance. It's amazing they pulled it off!
