Very helpful thanks for taking the time to share this with us! Just bought the 100g ones after recommendations from friends who have had great blood trail results. Have used fixed blade muzzy in the past so excited to see difference.
well done. agree that the real instruction begins about 8:30, but overall a very good explanation. It helped me to be sure my blades don't open prematurely after the fire and stay fixed. My only suggestion is that you slide the collar on as instructed but 'short' of fully in, then screw on the head and it will naturally press the shock collar into place.
I’m shocked that same red collar with the hypodermics out of a 390 striker solution crossbow. I’ve shot five deer one turkey and one gray fox, and that one of the red collars broke loose and deployed the blades. All arrows were recovered with the collars, still intact in the blades tucked behind them. All animals were recovered as well. They killed just fine even when they don’t open up as long as your shot placement is good. I took one of the red collars and shot it through my block target over 40 times. I get a pass-through each time by about 3 inches or more. Out of the 40+ times I only had one blade deploy one time! I sent photos of a few deer hearts showing that I didn’t get any expansion poking small holes right through them with just about a quarter inch of slit on each side from the blades that didn’t deploy. I also sent videos to raid, shooting my targets and showing that they didn’t open up. They were nice enough to send me two packs of the no collar versions to try. I had the red collars lined up correctly just like in this video as well. Those red collars are rockhard or at least the ones that I have are. I did buy the non-crossbow replacement collars, and those will open up when I hit a paper plate! We did try the crossbow collars on deer, but I bet you they work awesome. I figured I’ll try the no collar versions first. I have an R10 now I tried them on a block target the other day. Only one blade deployed during entry, but they both opened up in the block target. So they at least open up easier than the red collars. I would assume they’ll probably open up punching a deer hide so I get a big entry hole. The red collar ones no thanks too many tries and zero openings. I would assume they use different plastic compounds because some guys swear by them and say they open up I still have a bunch of them laying around and their hard is a rock and they still don’t open up. Rage never asked for them back. They just replace them so I figured I would use them with the non-crossbow collars for back ups.
@@LoveOfTheLand the red collars that you have on the orange broadheads are not the same as the ones that came on the hypodermics. Rage apparently made three different red collars. The ones that came on your orange broadheads, ones on the Trypan, and a third on the xbow hypodermics. Seems like there’s a lot of confusion because as soon as you say, red collar, everybody thinks they’re using the same one and they’re not.
The collars that came on the orange cut on contact versions taper at the bottom and flare out. They are obviously made with a lot softer plastic. I could hit mine with a hammer and they wouldn’t break.
The shock collar is reusable as long as it's not cracked. I just shot the same one three times with the same collar. All I did is rotate it to the next slot. I'm using these with my Raven R10 and they shoot - yes, just as my field tip!
As long as you sharpen the blades and nothing is bent, I’ve re-used the shock collars 2 more times before throwing them away and I’ve never had an issue with the blades opening up prematurely or not opening up upon impact. Good hunting.
The same with me Chuck- I actually got three shots off of one collar with my R10. Fantastic broadheads and Rage has a $10 dollar rebate as we speak until November 2023
Thank you for this! I was wondering what to do with the metal rings (3) that came in the package. The diagram on the reverse side of the main packaging label did not feature this ring. Makes sense to close the gap with some types of core bolts...
Right on buddy I hope you videotape your hunts it'd be awesome to watch. I think you'll be happy with the rage broadheads I have shot them for the last few years they have always worked great for me.
i shoot Rage 2 blade with my compound bow. I have always had good luck with them. On my Xbow i shoot Wasp Jackhammers. It really just boils down to what a guy or gal prefers.
I pulled one out a young buck's spine/shoulder still attached to 6 inches of carbon shaft. I didn't see it before I skinned it, but I did find a rubber o-ring beneath the entrance wound. What the heck is that doing in a deer I said to myself! Did they ever use an o-ring as a blade retainer?
Our archery season starts in Oct and ends in Jan. I did ok with rifle and muzzleloader but didn't bowhunt. With just under 2 weeks left I decided to sight in the crossbow and picked up a pack of 100gr Rage crossbow X blades (no weight collar like yours) (400fps crossbow). I hadn't opened them yet and wasn't sure how to assemble them etc. Thanks much for the step by step explanations. Question: How did you make out using these blades on deer?
I’ve always used the Rage 2 blades out of my compounds with massive blood trails and devastating results. Even those these are recommended for 400fps+ crossbows, I tried these today with a circa 1980 PSE 150lb draw iron sighted Crossfire crossbow and harvested a buck… don’t know the speed of the x-bow but I’d guess 250fps ish… anyways, huge entry and exit wounds on a less than perfectly placed shot. I’m ordering more from Amazon - I’ll shoot Rage forever! Nice video!
I hit a deer with one two years ago and recovered the broadhead. I got a blade replacement kit and rebuit it. Now I'm just waiting on the new bolts to reattach it.
@@faucettefarmsfishing5498 not %100 sure what you are referring too, but you want the head in the flight position so closed and then slide the collor on
I had the other Rage with the O-Ring shooting them out of my 415 fps they would prematurely open . But i had to switch to the ones with the shock collar . But some of it mite have been do to the speed of my crossbow .
I just bought the exact same broadhead except it's a 1.75" cutting diameter! Mine came with 6 black rubber o-rings and 3 orange plastic collars! After a couple minutes of walking in the field the blades are bouncing all around loose! Should it have came with the metal weighted ring? Or is that only on the 2-inch cutting diameter broadhead?
I took it completely apart and noticed the black o-rings had splits and cracks in it. They weren't split all the way through so the o-ring was still attached but it was allowing the arrow to move freely. For $40 you would think the cheap little o-ring would come fully intact from the factory! Oh well lesson learned thanks for the help! B. From Indiana
Yes thank you I just found that today I shot a coyote, and am able to reuse thanks. You should go check out the deer hunt takes a turn video where i shoot the coyote
I use Rage Xtreme broadheads 2 an 3 quarter inch cut. For crossbows that shoot over 300fps. My crossbow shoots 400fps. There are no collar on my Rage heads. And I use 100 grain. And I get pass through all the time.
Those sound wicked, I just ordered the Rage Hypodermic cross bow heads will be doing a video on them I like the idea of the large cut on yours, how do they not open in flight though without a collor
Move item away from camera until it's in focus and tap the item. Square box must be around the item in order to keep it focus that close or it helps anyway
Only watching this because I inherited my dad's crossbow and the bolts have rage on them. I use toxic and only toxic. They have NEVER failed. Toxic simply cannot fail to open. Rage can and will. From what I've heard
I got 100 grain they did not come with a steel jacket only the orange I’m trying to figure out how they are supposed to work. Jee wiz for $40 bucks for 3 they could have explained them a bit better on the package
Bro this is by far the most dummy proof vid on how to use these. Well done sir
Thankyou

That's what I did as well, since I didn't want to exert extra finger pressure in the vicinity of those blades!

Best heads on the market !
Can you please tell me what the purpose of the weighted ring is that you place on at 11:30? Thanks
thats the weight difference between the 100g and 125g, its that extra 25g
My rage didn't come with the weighted rings wonder if its ok?

I didn’t get a weighted ring? Only the red shock collars?
It’s the exact same item, but no ring? Came with 3 broadheads and 6 shock collars
That would mean there not for crossbows
One question.. each arrow has the broadhead sitting in the bow a different angle. Should it be flat winged, vertical winged?.... or doesn’t matter?
does not matter at all, hope you have good luck

Yes and Yes

you need to make sure that the little barbs on the back side of the blades are hooked into the orange plastic collar. Let me know if that fixed it

If you have black rubber o rings you do not have these broadheads. They come with harder plastic collars.

It says crossbow x because they are made for over 400 fps . Rear deployment to deal with the speeds of today's higher speed crossbows
