The accuracy for this movement is actually +- 0.5 sec a day NOT +- 5 sec a day. I just realised my misstatement 😂
I purchased this watch new in January 2024. I think it was one of the last few of them still at retail dealers. A great watch

this is the 2nd video i watched of yours and now im subscribing. You do a great job of pointing out not only what features make the watch great, but ones that make the watch bad. Like pointing out the single indices at the 3 position on the SBGJ251. You are the first reviewer I have seen that actually looks at the watches rather than repeat the history of the brand (to artifically inflate video length) and the press notes. Thanks

Yeah bro I agree. I think this is the best current GS there is due to the dial, case and material used, i.e. Ever-brilliant steel on both case and bracelet. I feel like it deserves a nick name...maybe "Death Star" 😅

Movement aside, which would you say in your opinion looks more classy and luxurious, this or the SBGH271G "Rikka"? I'm torn between the two, want to get one.
I love the "Rikka" in fact it's on my list too. However IMHO I think this SLGA013 is hands down more luxurious because of the steel used. The black dial with rose gold motifs makes it very classy as well....James bond style. Safe bet to wear on almost every occasion. The Rikka feels more old, mature, vintage classy (if that makes sense).

My father have a seiko 5 which is 30 years old and still working without service
That shows how reliable Seikos are. Hopefully the same goes with Grand Seikos.

Brother here in pakistan people have no idea about servicing or buying another watch i have also seen people with more than 50 years old seiko 5's. Here is hot weather so people like bracelets. And they only love seiko 5 bracelets. And nowadays if you go to any shop they will still recommend you seiko 5 watches.
On other hand there are rado watches these watches are little bit expensive but not reliable people use these watches for 10 or 15 years and then throw it in dustbin! Seiko 5 is a legend in our country.
Which non-limited model comes closest to this one when the 550 pieces have been sold?
Hmm....I think the recent SBGH301 is probably the closest albeit it's not a spring drive.

Hey Faheem Mustaza, the watch is pretty awesome. There is some weight to it as it weighs 152g but it is still lighter than its blue counterpart. However the weight distribution is pretty balance and it wears comfortably on the wrist. I know there are a lot of critics on GS' bracelet but I find this bracelet to be alright. No risk of pinching skin or pulling hair (may be I don't have a lot of hair on my wrist 😂). But the watch fits well. I don't like my watches too tight. I always have at least some room for the wrist to breathe and I think it fits well. Hope this helps.

@@watchat888 I tried on both the SLGH009 and SLGA013 last night and echo the same sentiments as you. Watched this video dozens of times and it influenced my decision to get the SLGA013.
