Great video. Got the SLGH009 for $7.5k a few days ago and I love it. My first GS I waited years before pulling the trigger. Dial and case way above Swiss or German counterparts of the same price. Bracelet not so much fortunately it fits my wrist perfectly. Movement decoration is more than what I expected for the price point but with regards to accuracy I was expecting better (+4 secs a day). Will wait and see after I wear it for a while. The Zaratsu polish is of another level. I have a Lange 1 and a Patek 5960 and I'd say overall finishing is way up there with the big boys. Thanks for the review it was a big help in coming up with the decision. 🙏
very nice watch, like all GS. But like you said, under normal lighting, you cannot really see the dial pattern (which is the main selling point of GS). I still prefer the Lake Suwa version. Anyway, glad to see you back bro.
Thankyou for reviewing this ! I suppose being in house and hand crafted by artisans plus with great movements ie new 80 hr HB and 5 day spring drive , fuethermore new everbrilliant steel....like you said, it's a bargain compared to its competitors offerings. However the price hike will hurt all us GS fans. Once you go up, then you compete with a whole world of other attainable models/brands and the larger the depreciation ( model dependant). Would appreciate it if you could show us the slga013 and also the new 'snowflake' with GS9 case 5 day SD! The other thing GS is doing is coming out with boutique only editions which could be as attractive as 'limited edition' models but usually at no discount. They also don't disclose the number of pieces available and sold . Any insights on this ?
@@watchat888 I contacted Grand Seiko and they said gold tone and not real gold. When a Grand Seiko dial has precious metals on it, they put a star on the dial.
I really dislike the photos Grand Seiko uses on their website. This watch looks completely different in this video and others than it does on the site.

Nice video. finally find the vid with real lighting and angle that makes a watch look almost the same in real life setting.
Thanks buddy. Hope the review helped.

Thanks A Lim, will look into this and get back to you if I can.
I just purchased this watch from my AD. Are the GS logo and the seconds hand real gold or are they pvd?
I was told that its actual gold 😅

@@ToneyDouglas23 hm I thought the star is on HAQ models with the extra fine tune to +/- 5 sec/year , eg. Sbgp017 ?
@@ALim-zx5oy i think they have different types of stars. The one Im talking about is an 8 pointed star.
@@ToneyDouglas23 wow never heard of that. I'll look it up for sure!
Hi Gerdi, sieht sehr gut aus, für soviel Geld ist selbstverständlich!!
