When it comes to publishing books on KDP Amazon and earning money there are key factors that need to be researched - keyword research, niche research and category research. This can be done without tools but if you want to speed up the publication process and make more money online then the right tools are essential. The question is - which one? There are many KDP research tools out there but I compare the three most popular and three most important tools out there. I compare keywords, niche, category research, price and any other useful features that can help with the publication process. So, if you are publishing no content, low content books or regular fiction and non fiction books you'll find this review very useful if you are thinking on purchasing one.

Bookbolt was the first tool I paid for and basically used it to design but I didn't like the limitations it had. I'm thinking of canceling the subscription but after seeing this video I'm gonna check out the other features to see if it's worth keeping. Thanks for the comparison.

I've leaned a lot from you videos. I watch many channels and have not found one that addresses the idea that those that are new to the publishing business cannot expect to see sales like the authors that started a few years ago when self publishing competition wasn't so enormous. The earlier sellers gained momentum and have benefited from that. Also running ads for a new seller has to be different from a seller that already is established.

Thanks, Paul. Since I am just beginning this journey, I would probably select Publisher Rocket. Look into the others later. One very important question though is, if getting into this publishing stuff, and just beginning, would you recommend the journals, notebooks, and other related items, rather than putting together a Kindle ebook, book, or audiobook at this juncture? I am just getting started so want to make as simple as possible in the beginning and then graduate to more levels. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts for starting out. Thanks...

Hi Paul! Thanks for this video. Since it's been a couple years, do you have an update to your thoughts on these three? How about as how they compare to Jungle Scout?
I still use all three. Book Bolt I like for niche research. As for keyword research Publisher Rocket and Helium 10 are both good. Helium 10 does give more infomration but it is more expensive. I've not used Jungle Scout but I thought that was more for physical products to sell with an Amazon Sellers Account. Not sure how well it works with books.

Do you find Helium's search results to be more helpful to go by, or keywords everywhere? I happen to be using KWE for RUclips already, and noticed the numbers are very different between the 2 tools.
So it sounds like bookbolt slightly outperforms even Canva.

I know book bolt only works for low content books...
How about Kindle books? Which tool work for that?
For keyword research, Publisher Rocket and Helium 10 will work for kindle books.
Interesting, I didn't know anything about it, I see that in English one can find much more information and I'm telling my friends to follow you and also to try to search information wordwhile because something one can always understand even whatching the pictures :)

Hi Paul, I have a question about helium10.
the search for competitors both in magnet and in cerebro is done on the ALL and non BOOKS category.
When you change the categories from ALL to BOOKS the number of competitors changes considerably.
I have a content book published in a keyword with> 2000 if I select BOOKS category, in HELIUM10 the keyword results with 180 competitors.
How should this data be interpreted? thanks

@@paulmarles i saw the video. I subscribed with the discount code, I find helium the best of the 3 for the ability to filter everything, do reverse search and the quality of searches. I also have publisher rocket and I recently closed my bookbolt subscription. the only flaw I find in helium is the one described, for each keyword found I always have to click in amazon to check the real competitors.

You could do something like take the puzzle into PowerPoint and just enlarge it on the page.
why not using kdspy who is less expensive than publisherrocker ?
Personally, I think the keywords you get from publisher rocket are better. They seem more relevant.
